  1. Is this the first time all 6 of the core guys are playing together this year?
  2. Would the Sox have sold out the afternoon game yesterday had that been Soto's debut? I actually doubt it.
  3. Especially considering how unreliable Engel and Robert are health-wise.
  4. Pretty much everyone thought we'd lose to Singer yesterday and we won. Now everyone thinks we'll win this one on the pitching matchup which will probably mean we'll somehow lose.
  5. The Red Sox just DFA'd JBJ. He's obviously bad at the plate (except against us apparently), but he'd probably be the 2nd best defensive OFer on the team. Nobody will claim him but if the Red Sox release him he'd be a cheap pick up.
  6. That was a crazy first inning. I'm really jealous of Padres fans right now.
  7. They made the deal last minute. They probably thought there's no way this guy won't take half his paycheck.
  8. I think I remember all the homers Gavin has hit on the road. He hit one in Baltimore and another in Detroit. I don't think he has another one on the road.
  9. Perez started today. I forgot about Dunning actually. Alright, it's more like 3 bad starters and Dane Dunning.
  10. There is a huge difference in BABIP in our home/away splits. I think it's probably something that works itself out over the next 2 months. I think our home BABIP is .280 while our away BABIP is .330.
  11. Why did they even bother to acquire him if they were just gonna DFA him? Truly bizarre.
  12. The team doesn't hit homers. Playing in a homer friendly stadium doesn't actually help them.
  13. All bitching aside, the Sox did hit well today and they hit a pitcher that they've historically struggled against. That's an improvement. Now they go to Texas and face 4 pretty bad starters. Hopefully the offense gets hot and we can rattle off some more series wins.
  14. I'd like to go on record to say that I predicted this 19 game stretch perfectly so far. Hopefully I'm also right on the last 10 games. Going 5 over after this stretch is decent. The only problem is that the Twins got a lot better yesterday.
  15. There's a good reason why the Sox lead the league in getting thrown out at home. They're slow and they don't score via the home run.
  16. They'd actually be able to go from 1st to 3rd and score easily on singles with a guy on 2nd. Those 2 things are challenges for the Sox.
  17. If they were actually fast, it wouldn't be as much of an issue. I've never seen a team hit this many singles yet have so many slow ass players.
  18. Part of the reason Harrison has only hit .240 this season is that his line drive rate is down by about 8%. Mostly replaced by ground balls. No one is safe from ground ball mania once they come to the Sox.
