  1. Michael Young's screw up scores Vizquel. Very nice.
  2. I noticed that Gordon's looking directly at the pitcher in his stance, I guess his head was moving far too much before.
  3. Alexei looked like he wanted to take that 3-1 pitch and just walk. That's really weird, he's usually swinging at everything.
  4. Okay, he should keep messing with his stance. 2-0.
  5. Quentin really needs to stop f***ing around with his stance. He looks like Carlos Gomez up there right now.
  6. I don't think that was a good throw by Mark, but Alexei looks totally out of position there. Paulie probably should have had that scoop too.
  7. Kotsay's more than late on these pitches Harden is leaving up.
  8. Harden's throwing moderately hard so far. Got it up to 93. Walks Pierre though.
  9. Wow, he got out of it, nice. They did manage to get him to throw 33 pitches though...
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) Good discussion, guys. As for our career numbers against Harden, this is no longer the Harden of old. Let's get to him. His fastball velocity's dropped 4 miles since he was last dominant in 2008.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 04:12 PM) It's somewhat impressive how much UZR agrees with you. It disagrees on Konerko being above average, thinks the same about Kostay in the OF, Teahen and Quentin have been the real weak points. Alexei slightly above average, Beckham sitting basically at average, Pierre and Rios tearing it up. Konerko's been a very average 1B throughout his career. I think that -4.5 is going to increase once the season goes along.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) Wbat ptcher aside from Halladay who is doing well isn't due for a sharp regression? Consistency isn't exactly something many big leaguers have nowadays. I think Garland deserves credit. When I mean sharp, I mean two runs in the ERA sharp. I don't think many pitchers other than Livan Hernandez are due for a surprise that big.
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) Yeah, I'm not going to go nuts with the All-Star ballots trying to get Alexei Ramirez, Orlando Cabrera, Darin Erstad or AJ Pierzynski into the All-Star game. Very few Sox players have been the best at their respective position over the years and when they are -- Quentin in '08 and Rios this year -- there's usually a reason not to get amped about getting them in. (ie: not on the ballot and general malaise towards the baseball season) I don't think I have ever voted all White Sox on the all-star ballot. Not recently at least. I might have done that in 06, but I think I don't need to defend myself about why I did it.
  14. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 04:15 PM) I just dont understand why the fanbase can come out for the final vote which is basically a back-up with no guarantee of actual playing time, but not for one of our guys to actually start the game? What's the issue? Apathy? Until the field can be narrowed down for only a few guys for one spot we wont vote? (hint, hint, that's one of the changes I want for the normal ballot) Maybe we're just not THAT biased.
  15. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) Also it seems like the White Sox just don't have a lot of fans. You're saying the Rangers and Brewers stuff the boxes all the time. We Sox fans are the nerdy kind on a message board who call for stuffing (this thread included) and can barely crack a top 15 with the votes, what does that say about the fanbase? (P.S. I do realize the irony of me saying we dont have enough fans while just having said i wont vote....) We can't call for stuffing, our outlet isn't large enough. However, if Brooks Boyer does it, it'll show results.
  16. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 03:37 PM) I'll probably never vote on another all-star ballot until the MLB changes the rules or the name of the game....They are beyond ridiculous. The game can't be "for the fans", and "count"... You gotta choose one or the other. Agreed. But you have a chance to make it right by putting the right people in the game. This way, the fans get the best game and the best league wins the game.
