  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) Cmon. His pitch count was fine. A good pitcher would have smoked through the sixth with that new cushion. But he's not a good pitcher right now.
  2. So yeah, our 4 run lead is now a 2 run lead. Anybody still think it was a good idea to let Peavy continue to suck?
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2010 -> 02:56 PM) He should be one. He's paid like one. The pitch count was still OK. They'd just been given a four-run lead. He's jake peavy. He stays in until exactly the point Ozzie yanked his mediocre, highly-paid ass. For a guy who said he has arm issues, 96 pitches is pushing it.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2010 -> 02:53 PM) Ozzie made the right call. You don't pull an ace who was just given a four run lead. No matter how horses*** the highly paid ace is. You don't go and put reputation in the way of winning the game.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) Ozzie played that perfectly. Peavy deserved to come out for that inning and his s***tiness at this point and number of pitches means it is the time to take him out. He should have done that to begin with.
  6. Remember what I said about Ozzie putting his players in a position to fail? Well, after struggling to get through 5 with 90+ pitches, you don't send him out there to have the Rays chip away at a 4 run lead... We got an off-day tomorrow. Use the damn bullpen.
  7. With all this stuff about a tired arm, they sure aren't worried about his pitch count...
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2010 -> 02:44 PM) If he hasn't thrown a s***load of pitches he should go back out there. He's Jake Peavy. Of course, he's back out there with 90+ pitches. Hopefully, he gets over this inning somehow with no damage done.
  9. The hell, how come I didn't notice Alexei got caught stealing? Ugh.
  10. On a bad count, you just know Ozzie will put Jake out there. Ugh.
  11. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ May 30, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) Only positive note is that Rios continues to rake. Is he on the All Star ballot, does anyone know? He sure is. Go vote for him.
  12. Wasn't going to keep the Rays down forever...
  13. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ May 30, 2010 -> 11:38 AM) I think Sanchez would've had a perfect game had Juan Uribe not committed an error if I remember right. Rowand saved a homer though, shortly after that.
  14. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 30, 2010 -> 01:41 PM) Nix in for Teahen What happend? Wondering the same thing.
  15. QUOTE (T R U @ May 30, 2010 -> 01:29 PM) geez get out of here with that WAR crap aside from Morneau I could prolly name 4-5 more people having better seasons than Rios and deserve way more consideration for MVP Geez, get out of here with your batting averages and RBIs, will ya?
  16. QUOTE (T R U @ May 30, 2010 -> 01:22 PM) why? Why not? If Justin Morneau wasn't hitting out of his mind, Rios would be the leader in WAR in the AL at 2.6.
  17. You really have to consider giving Rios some early MVP votes right now.
  18. I hope the Lakers absolutely destroy them.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 30, 2010 -> 11:40 AM) I'm sure Kendry feels your pain. This just means I get to play Nick Swisher more. Yay.
  20. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 30, 2010 -> 09:59 AM) Obviously this doesn't diminish Buehrle's performance, but man, it really felt special when Mark threw his perfect game. It's starting to feel almost commonplace now, haha. Mark's performance is probably still first of all the past three. Mark pitched against the Rays in a very hitter friendly park with a pretty bad defense. Braden did it against a better Rays team, but he also pitched it in one of the pitcher friendly ballparks with a very good OF behind him. I'd say Buehrle's was a little more impressive.
  21. After watching the entire 27 outs, I feel like Halladay might have gotten a couple of calls. But still, great accomplishment.
