  1. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 30, 2010 -> 09:59 AM) Obviously this doesn't diminish Buehrle's performance, but man, it really felt special when Mark threw his perfect game. It's starting to feel almost commonplace now, haha. Mark's performance is probably still first of all the past three. Mark pitched against the Rays in a very hitter friendly park with a pretty bad defense. Braden did it against a better Rays team, but he also pitched it in one of the pitcher friendly ballparks with a very good OF behind him. I'd say Buehrle's was a little more impressive.
  2. After watching the entire 27 outs, I feel like Halladay might have gotten a couple of calls. But still, great accomplishment.
  3. And I had him on my fantasy team. What great luck.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 29, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) The Tigers are moving Carlos Guillen to 2b? Get ready for a terrible UZR.
  5. Hey, that ball was more towards the outside of the plate and Q hit that hard. Seems like he might have made an adjustment?
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 29, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) Toronto with 4 more bombs today. They've hit a whopping 50 this month (85 overall). Watching them is kinda like watching a fast-paced team NBA or college team that just launches 3's all game long. They just go up their hacking. They don't wait. You throw them a FB early in the count, they're swinging. You gotta wonder if anybody who pitches against them will freaking adjust...
  7. Alex needs to stop hitting the ball to the deepest part of the park.
  8. What's with this lineup...? Rios second? Eh. Could work. Better OBP than who was hitting second. Kotsay hitting 4th is scary as hell though. Edit: they had the lineup wrong on CSN.
  9. Morneau's playing out of his mind.
  10. I think closer by situation works... Jenks in situations where it's 3 runs. Santos in situations where it's close with a lot of tough right handed hitters. Thronton in situations where it's close with a lot of tough left handed hitters. Of course, Thornton's role is versatile in this situation. Hopefully, it doesn't mess with any of these guys' minds.
  11. Danks going tomorrow. Maybe a split wouldn't be so much to ask.
  12. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 28, 2010 -> 08:26 PM) I love the idea of Putz as the new closer. I don't like it if there's 3 lefties coming up in the next 4 hitters.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 27, 2010 -> 04:07 PM) Stark. Liriano put up a 0.93 ERA in April and 5.28 in May. Batters hit .180 off him in April and .313 in May. The arm slot thing might be true. Here's the release points by pitch f/x. This is early on in the year. http://pitchfx.texasleaguers.com/charts/re...0120100410AAAAA Much more consistent with a few of them a bit off on the outside. Most of them are towards the left, a higher release point. http://pitchfx.texasleaguers.com/charts/re...1520100528AAAAA He's throwing a lot more sliders and it looks like the release point is all over the place. More so to the right, meaning a lower arm slot release. He's also throwing about 5% more sliders as of late. It's getting near the amount of fastballs he throws.
  14. So assuming Thornton gets the job done here and retires Crawford. I would think about keeping him in there for Jaso, Longoria, Pena, and Blalock.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2010 -> 07:00 PM) Nix is playing himself out of the organization. Batting .150 with no power and terrible defense. I was a big fan of his, but he looks to have taken a few steps back from where he was last season. Lack of playing time might do that for you...
  16. Letter high strikes haven't been around for a long ass time and there's a good reason for that. It totally screws left handed hitters.
