  1. Ozzie, please tell me you have a right hander up for Wells.
  2. Jake had bad control, bad velocity, and no movement. Just one of those days I guess... He threw better in 30 degree weather than he did today. I think it's the high socks.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) Pierre has no hits when he's pulled this ball, I believe. I can't believe he's getting the most at bats on our team. He's really good at fouling pitches off. Why not do that until the pitcher walks you? Take advantage of your talents Juan, hitting isn't one of them, but getting on base could be.
  4. Looks like Cito Gaston is pulling an Ozzie. With Pierre and Teahen, he's not bothering to pull Tallet. It cost him.
  5. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:44 PM) We used to do green for sarcasm. A simple /g at the end works too. I have a bad feeling about this AB. The green thing was so yesterday.
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) Yeah, pretty sure that was sarcasm... hard to tell in this thread though, I admit. Do I need a to officially confirm sarcasm?
  7. And I also notice that Jake and Javier start with the same letter. I smell a conspiracy.
  8. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:40 PM) official after two whole games. good lord. Yup, his contract will haunt us for years.
  9. It's official, Jake Peavy is the new Javier Vazquez because he always has that "one bad inning"...
  10. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:35 PM) The one Jays fan I know said he feels Rios is going to bounce back with the Sox and is mad the Jays gave him up for nothing. Well, I think the intelligent Blue Jays fans actually didn't think Rios' contract was THAT bad and that he was definitely not done at 28 years old.
  11. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:34 PM) So have I, I went to Synth Pop goes the World in 2002, met a lot of people up there. They are baseball stupid! I had one guy tell me Joey Votto should be in Toronto because he's Canadian and that every game the Blue Jays play is like America vs. Canada.
  12. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:31 PM) Toronto fans are frontrunners, and as fairweather as you can get as a fan of a professional sports team, whether it be NFL, NHL, NBA, whatever. They're booing because they're idiots for the most part. Maybe 30 fans there have seen the Rios video on youtube. I saw it before we acquired him and while I thought it wasn't the smartest thing for the guy to do, I understood his frustration after reading the statement from his agent about that particular heckler I've come across some of them, oh man they're freaking stupid.
  13. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:28 PM) Honestly, you do have to be concern with Peavy's fastball and where it's at. It's not like he's pitching outside in the freezing cold. His fastball needs to be at least in the mid to high 90's. If not, he's not all that effective. Sorry, but it's the truth boys. His fastballs have a lot of movement. He just needs better location. I don't know what's going on with this velocity today.
  14. Jurrjens could be hurt, he had a problem earlier in the year.
  15. Peavy's averaging from 87-89. I don't know what's going on here...
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 06:47 PM) Stop making excuses for him like people made for Javy. These guys are getting paid a ton of money, and simply aren't performing so far. How is this even remotely the same thing? I thought Peavy looked pissed at that last call to Overbay, maybe he was still pissed and had a mental lapse. Who knows? That's not an excuse, that's simply a thought about why that pitch was so poorly located.
  17. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 06:47 PM) ok so im kind of confused by peavys velocity. -i thought he always threw hard, like 95. since hes been with the sox ive only seen him at about 90-92. so has he always been at about 92 with his fastball or whats going on? That's how fast he's been throwing for a while now. He's averaging 91-92 on his fastball. It was the case last year and in 08.
  18. I think Peavy let that last call to Overbay affect him there.
