  1. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 12:37 PM) no im SERIOUSLY not I didnt say Kotsay was better than Thome, maybe you just cant comprehend stuff? I know you didn't, you said they were about the same.
  2. Jesus christ, what the hell was that? How do you get doubled off on that?
  3. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 12:35 PM) ? Thome is hitting .182 with 3 RBI and 1 BB 5 Ks Kotsay is hitting .000 with 1 RBI 2 BB 1 K I SERIOUSLY hope you're kidding.
  4. Looks like Stone is hinting something along the lines of, "Hey Ozzie, Rios is hitting well, hit him 5th."
  5. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 12:33 PM) Please, Thome is doing no better than Kotsay right now.. LOL. I don't even know what to say to this.
  6. You can't blame Walk yet. He may have resurrected Rios.
  7. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) Hopefully Sox fans will be smarter about it than just hating on Kotsay He is who he is, it's Ozzie who puts him in the lineup and Kenny for not giving Ozzie a better alternative The only way so that he stops hitting in the 5th hole is for him to suck, to which none of us want to see, but he's sucking, so what can we do?
  8. All Kotsay does is hit measley fly balls and grounders. Seriously WTF?
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:44 PM) Not a surprise. I figure Javy will have an ERA around 4.50-4.75. But in his defense, I think the Rays might be the most complete team in the AL. They're going to cut up quite a few pitchers this year. I think anything above 4 from Javy is reasonable. Unfortunately, these Yankees fans forgot just how bad he was with them in 04.
  10. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:38 PM) HE HAD A PART IN CREATING THAT OFFENSE. He's responsible for Pierre and the lack of Jim Thome. That's saying ALOT. Not to mention, today's lineup had Vizquel in it too...part of Ozzie's brilliant plan.
  11. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:34 PM) I'm sure there are quite a few idiots out there, but it's no reason for him to be saying those things. And I hope you mean "dumb" in the sense of baseball, as I'm sure Ozzie knows more than most in that regard. I'd wager that quite a lot of people are more intelligent than him, though. I'd say a good portion of this message board is. Ozzie's using the stupid ass argument of, "hey, I have this job, you don't, I'm better than you."
  12. QUOTE (Disco72 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:32 PM) You don't feel good about Pena's effort tonight? I always didn't get the Pena hate. The guy's got good stuff and he can be a pretty damn good reliever.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:20 PM) The Sox front office got what it wanted. A terrific starting rotation. The front office knew this team potentially couldn't hit, but Ozzie Guillen thought it could muster enough runs to win NL style games and games the Sox used to play and sometimes win in the Go Go Sox days about 50 years ago and the front office let him have it his way. Good luck with that strategy, Ozzie. We better wake up soon. The Twins didn't do s*** tonight and we couldn't beat them at home. Sleepy effort by the White Sox again.
  14. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:28 PM) Lol two threads wanting ozzie gone and its only been 4 games I actually don't blame the TCs that much. Ozzie's made some boneheaded decisions and his decision to not bring Thome back for Mark Kotsay angers me to no end. Ozzie is one of the reasons why this team has scored 9 runs in the past 3 games.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:16 PM) Picking between Jones and Kotsay is like picking between Teahen and Omar. Does it matter? Yes, it matters. You obviously think too lowly of Jones and too highly of Kotsay.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:16 PM) The bullpen, a supposed strength, has been pretty bad the last three nights as well. Eh last night was more on the defense than the bullpen.
  17. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:10 PM) Jones has batted .206 since turning 30 years old a few years back. Kotsay is a better hitter to have up to start an inning. Now if it was 2 outs and no one on, then let Jones swing for the fences. Jones also had around the same OBP as Kotsay while hitting .212. I don't think Kotsay's the better guy to put out there no matter what.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:08 PM) Knight, are you telling me seeing Jones at the plate excites you in any way at any time? I'm not saying I think Kotsay is any good, either. At least Jones has the potential to do something good. He has a good resume and he still brings good defensive play to the table in some valuable positions. I'd much rather see Jones up there than Kotsay.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:06 PM) I am completely serious that it is ridiculous to think Jones is the answer in any situation. Nobody wanted that guy but Kenny and Ozzie. He's no good. Please face facts. I'm saying it's ridiculous to get worked up over Kotsay over Jones. Both hitters are dimes a dozen guys, over the hill. I just gave you them. Numbers = facts. You telling me that Jones = Kotsay means you haven't looked into this at all.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:01 PM) That really is debatable regarding Jones. Are you serious? Jones slugged .500+ last year. Mark Kotsay could barely touch .400.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:00 PM) I don't think Oz will survive this train wreck of an offense. Our only hope as a team is to have the starters soon go eight instead of five and six. If they completely dominate like pitchers did in the 60s, then we could win some 2-0 and 3-1 games, maybe some 4-2 and 5-4 games. We don't have the offense or set up men to win any games in which our starters only go five to six innings. We're not going to score runs. Does anybody dispute that simple sentence? We're going to start scoring more sooner or later. These things always regress to the mean, and this team should be able to score 4.5 runs a game when they do. If we had scored 4 runs instead of 3 in 9 innings these past three games, we'd have at least 2 more wins.
  22. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 10:59 PM) Rauch laughs at KW and OG! His pitches sucked. He got hit hard the whole time and was lucky to escape.
