QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 12:35 PM) Where can I find that original pic of Q??? That had me LMAO! I got it off of Dan McNeil's Facebook.
-
Wow, that's a HUGE blow. Looks like that bullpen might be a bit crazy. This is our opening.
-
Wouldn't it be something if our organization struck gold with two straight first round picks? After the likes of Joe Borchard, Josh Fields, Lance Broadway, and etc. this is very refreshing.

QUOTE (chunk23 @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 09:49 PM) Anyone else finding the Just Cause 2 demo as fun as I am? It's like every over the top 80s action movie in one awesome package. You can hop on a gas tank, shoot it, and ride it, jumping off just before it blows up, floating away with your parachute. Vehicles blow up the moment they hit a speed bump if you bailed out. Jump out of a plane, hijack a helicopter on the way down, and then fly the helicopter into a building. Crazy good fun. I'll need to DL that off Steam. It's coming out pretty soon. So is Metro 2033. March is a busy month for games.

QUOTE (Fotop @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 12:49 AM) Surely this idea has been floated before, but now with the Guzman injury does anyone think there's a chance Linebrink gets dealt to the Cubs? Supposedly they're sniffing around Jason Frasor w/the Jays and they're in desperate need for some RHP out of the pen. No idea what we would ask for, but If the cubs offered a decent spec for him, it'd clearly be a good deal for the Sox - getting Linebrink's contract off the books. Thoughts? A desperate Hendry is a stupid Hendry, even stupider than usual.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 09:30 AM) How many names? I'm happy with 2K8, the only drawback to that is that W-S is still the Warthogs. I've put too much time into my White Sox franchise to start over anyway. I'm just waiting on the real rosters to be set, I've already created or have most of the players that are in the organization. I've read a lot of other unpleasant stuff about 2K10 anyway. I think it's 150 that you can edit. You can also create 50 players, so you can go for about 200 in all. 2K8 sucks compared to 2K10. Kush games stopped knowing how to make a game after 2K7.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 11:26 AM) As good Dmetri Martin? About the same.

Hahaha Jonah Hill in a serious movie. This can't be good.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 7, 2010 -> 03:54 PM) I think the Rays would have also. But the guy who played only 412 AB's last year and gave them a .682 OPS out of the DH spot wasn't exactly the pat Burrell anyone would have picked. He should rebound. He was hurt last year wasn't he?
-
The Rays don't even need Blalock. The only thing he'd be able to do for them is DH and fill in at 1B or 3B once a week. I'd rather have Burrell as a full-time DH.
-
He seems really really nervous.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 7, 2010 -> 10:30 AM) I was going to get MLB 2K10 because it has all three levels of the minors, but read that there are roster edit limits. Basically, you can only edit so many players before it cuts you off. That's a deal breaker for me. I'll stick with MLB 2K8 and the two years I've put into a White Sox franchise. The only drawback to that is that Winston-Salem is still the Warthogs instead of the Dash. I don't like eit limits because I like to have accurate player likenesses and names for the minors. 2K8 just suits me best. Although I have a $50 gift card for Best Buy and don't know what to spend it on. It only pertains to names. You can edit everything else but names is what it restricts. There's a guy over on MVPMods who is going to make a roster editor for the PC. Don't know how he will transfer it to the 360 though.

QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Mar 7, 2010 -> 12:23 AM) Agreed, but to say he's more critical to their success than Joe freaking Mauer is just wrong. I think that's quite obvious. But he may be more valuable than somebody like Scott Baker.

QUOTE (T R U @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 09:31 PM) Yeah, I am also really enjoying MLB 2K10.. the My Player thing is awesome, I havent even touched franchise mode yet and that is usually the first thing I do.. I have two players right now, one a SP and one a C and both are a blast.. My only complaint with it though is that they leave you in to pitch a CG almost EVERY time you play.. Im still pitching in the 8th inning and struggling quite a bit yet they just leave me out there.. I have only been pulled once, and it was when the Yankees were kicking my ass when I first got the call.. Yeah, they just leave you out to dry unfortunately. The game is a huge upgrade overall. I'm also getting realistic scores. Like I've played 4-5 full games so far and the most lopsided one was 10-3. I'd much rather have the Show, but where am I going to get $400 for a PS3 and the game...?
-
Carlos also hit the crap out of the ball for a couple of weeks in 09 before he started struggling. It's a great sign, but we'll have to see.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 6, 2010 -> 05:54 PM) for those who didn't watch the game or monitor the game thread, when Hendry was in the booth with Len and Bob, Len dropped a nugget along these lines "The Cubs never over-hype their prospects." It good a funny reaction in the game thread. I love irony.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 6, 2010 -> 08:46 PM) And those 5 innings a week, are usually the most important 5 innings of the week. This is a very interesting thought and I tend to agree with it. Not every inning is the same. This is where value gets a bit screwed up. With stats like VORP or WARP, they tend to undervalue relievers because they pitch less innings. However, I think that the late innings are far different than the early and mid innings. It's more of a mental thing, but in baseball, mentality might just be half of the game. If the Twins do lose Nathan, we should see a pretty big dip in their wins, mostly because Matt Guerrier will end up closing games, resulting in a domino effect of Rauch, Crain, and Mijares setting up, which thins out their middle relief. So basically, everybody is expected to do something out of the ordinary and that's when stuff starts going crazy. We saw this with the Sox in 08. When Jenks went out that bullpen shat itself and was never the same afterwards.

Boldin and a 5th rounder go to Baltimore for a third and fourth round pick. Man, it would have been great to get Boldin.
-
Skip please. I'd rather give that money to Vincent Jackson.

Daley Trying To Score 2nd NFL Team??

If they have to do it, bring Arizona back. -
This is so unlike the Bears. Let's just hope that they make the most of whatever they spend their money on. I'm really liking this Chester Taylor move if it's done. I'd like to see what he can do if Forte sucks again this year.

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) Here how the prospect scores were devised: The article was very interesting and one of the few things on Bill James' site worth reading, here's the direct link: http://www.billjamesonline.net/ArticleCont...Code=James01009 Not a subscriber .

QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 12:49 AM) So an interesting question, barring any trades to pick up a quality left handed power bat how would a future outfield look like if both Mitchell and JDanks2 pan out? Do you switch Micthell to a corner spot? This would be a good future to bet on only if both develop offensively as well. Unlikely but anything is possible. I don't think you can lose either way. It all depends who has the stronger arm in the end I think. Range between the two is close.

Our prospect score was 0? lol

I have a feeling they'll pick somebody who will make the stereotype of White Sox fans worse...*Sigh
