  1. Dislike! He just needs to hit better when he gets back.
  2. Jose gave up a run against Arizona in 7 innings at Coors Field of all places. Man...
  3. Tigers take the lead. The Rays suck. They've been playing like crap as of late.
  4. QUOTE (quade36 @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 07:44 PM) yeah, my one loss was at Wrigley which they should have won. I flew out for the last game at the Metradome. Was very happy to see the big comeback off Nathan. The Sox should pay you to go see every game.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 06:57 PM) In the broadcast today, Ken Rosenthal mentioned that Ozzie has already spoken to Kenny Williams and told him he wants Kotsay back next year. He's a solid bench player. Why not? I just hope Ozzie doesn't fall in love with him and end up starting him every day or something.
  6. QUOTE (jenks45monster @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 08:02 PM) I think it should be Hudson. We have arguably one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball right now. No point in not giving him top priority for the 5th starter's job. Regardless of what Freddy's done in a small sample size of a few starts, I don't think Hudson belongs in the 'pen. He won't start out of the pen next year if he's not the 5th starter. If anybody's going to do that, it's Torres.
  7. I'm watching the Rockies game because Jose is pitching and I'm getting a glimpse of some really good young hitters. Carlos Gonzalez is turning into what the Diamondbacks envisioned him as. He's hitting .300 with a 127 OPS+. Seth Smith is also hitting above .300 with a 137 OPS+. Add Tulo, Helton, and Hawpe and you have yourself a pretty damn good offense. BTW, Allen homered off of Jose. Let the madness begin.
  8. Man, it's hard to believe that Galarraga was actually good last year.
  9. Freddy's been very impressive in his last three starts against two great offensive teams. I'd say he's the front-runner right now with Hudson being behind him.
  10. Garcia has a 3.44 ERA with a 1.1 WHIP in his last 3 starts (2 against Boston, 1 against NY). He's definitely worth keeping. Plus, isn't Felix bound for free agency in two years?
  11. Come on guys. Wakefield is having a hard time finding the zone. Take some damn pitches.
  12. A.J. was actually safe. Ump blew the call.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) Don't you think Konerko would have at least swung if it was a hit and run? I think he just went on his own. Thing is, he stopped and then went. Plus, I think the ball to Konerko was a ball.
  14. I think that could have been a hit and run. Hit and runs against Wakefield aren't a good idea. You might as well do a straight steal.
  15. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 03:39 PM) Rios needs to figure it out soon. If I'm him, I'd get on base with some walks instead of swinging up in the count.
  16. Youk - He Gawn. Papi - He Gawn. Bay - HE GAWN!
  17. Adam Dunn is just a younger version of Thome right now. He's having a career year, but you'd basically be overpaying for him since you can get similar production out of Thome (less homers and walks, but similar hitters). I'm not so sure about Matsui. Abreu, I do like because he's more of a doubles hitter than a home run hitter. We need more doubles hitters on this team. They're more consistent and Abreu also gets on base a lot. Delgado will pretty much give you the numbers Thome gave us this year.
  18. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 03:28 PM) we should be trying to steal as much as possible with the combination of Wakefield/Martinez. Martinez is atrocious. Wakefield throws 68. I don't see a reason not to.
  19. His recent cold stretch might have had something to do with fatigue.
