  1. QUOTE (OldSmoky2 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 01:29 PM) Hold on, Bartolo—we haven't made the deal yet. Maybe Felix Pie can help Bartolo return to 2005 Cy Young form. xD
  2. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 06:22 AM) It was colon, rivera, santana, lee, buehrle, garland, and millwood in that order. Colon had 118 points, rivera 68, santana 51, lee 8, buehrle 5, garland 1, and millwood with one. Colon wasn't that good that year. He only won because he was 21-6. Buehrle was better than his fat ass in a lot of respects. Santana should have won it that year.
  3. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 12:15 PM) How many MVP awards have been given out to steroid users? Good thing Ortiz has never won one.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 11:54 AM) I think we as White Sox fans have to face the realistic possability that within a year a major name on the 05 team will be strongly tied to steroids. I'm not actually thinking of anybody in particular, but the way the numbers are shaking out, I'm just trying to be logical Only guy I can really think of is Freddy Garcia. A lot of lost velocity after that season. But then again, other things might have to do with that. Carl Everett maybe? Since he was with Texas and Boston. I don't see anybody else on it.
  5. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 11:46 AM) Wow Big Shocker here.... it will be hilarious to watch ESPN now. I feel sorry watching this. They're saying the Red Sox are just as tainted as everybody else who had roid users. Really? Their two best players were on roids. It's not like they were Timo Perez.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 11:44 AM) So at what point does their World Series win in '04 get tarnished? I'm of the opinion that it already is. I would love to hear what Schilling has to say about htis. This is a glorious day for Yankees fans.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 09:17 AM) If Alexei is out for an extended time our defense will be better. Yep, especially with Nix as his replacement.
  8. Hey you know what... We actually swept a team who depended on two juicers back in 05.
  9. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) anyone remember right after MB's no hitter in '07 the sox went in a tailspin, now after MB's perfect game we are about to go 1-6...it's all Mark's fault We actually won the series after that game. We completely laid an egg in Detroit and there are just no words to describe the atrocity that is this series.
  10. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 08:05 PM) We'll agree to disagree. Pinerio is 9-9 this year, Lohse hasn't been very good and Wellenmeyer flat out sucks. I'd take anyone on the Cubs staff over Pinerio too. Thought I'm not fond of the Cubs, I'll give them their due when it comes to starting pitching....they're pretty good and that staff has kept them in it when they weren't hitting for over 2 months. They really should be about 10 games out because of their season long power outage. As impressive as the DeRosa and Holiday moves were for the Cards O, they still have major pitching concerns. Aside from their top 2 and Franklin as their closer, nothing else is impressive. They're very similar to last years Brewers. They got a squad that can get to the post-season just not very far unless they get some more pitching help. Like I said with the Cliff Lee trade I think the NL is a one horse race right now. You can have your Dodgers, Cards, Cubs, Rox, whoever....Philly is head and shoulders the best team in the NL and maybe the league. His ERA is at like 2.88.
  11. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 09:11 PM) Although I'm not ready to give up on the season, I have given up on Greg Walker's ability to come up with a plan of attack for our hitters. It's been like this for the last three years. If Kenny wants to make a move that will shake these guys up a little, it's firing Greg Walker. It's been long overdue. Yes, please bring back the fire Greg Walker threads. He's been getting a break since the Sox haven't hit like s*** for about a month. But now it's back!
  12. HOW do you let a guy batting .150 get two big hits off of you? HOW?!?!?!?!?! I just know that Dewayne Wise ain't getting these hits.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 04:58 PM) Reed Johnson, Cubs fans version of Aaron Rowand, breaks his foot, out for a month I thought it was Mark DeRosa that was their version of Rowand?
  14. Why are so many NBA players on the internet now? It really amazes me how social networking has changed the internet...especially within the past year with the popularity of Twitter and etc.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 01:28 PM) Its one thing to trade for a Happ, who has proven he can pitch in the majors, or even Drabek, who is at AAA and so close. Knapp is 18 years old, and I dont care how highly touted he is, he is still a LONG way from the majors, and a lot of weird stuff can happen, like injuries, or it can just turn out he was overrated the whole time. Happ has fairly average stuff.
  16. This deal was pretty much what the Jays asked for minus Happ. Then they basically replaced Drabek with Knapp. Good deal for Cleveland. They got a lot out of Lee.
  17. Let's all laugh at Riccardi.
  18. I thought this feat was just as important as the perfect game... Of course, the perfect game was part of this feat as well.
