  1. I honestly thought Ozzie kind of went a little too far with Clayton to begin with. Obviously, it worked out pretty well for Ozzie. I don't see how you don't let your closer into the game when you're only up by a run. Plus, Richard isn't exactly known to be a work horse. 116 pitches is a lot.
  2. I don't want to see Bobby in the next few days. Give him some rest. He must be hurting a little bit. He was throwing 91-93 last night.
  3. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 12:16 PM) Andy LaRoche must be pissed. At least Andy hasn't sucked as much as his brother this year. Now there won't be any more LaRoche confusion on the Pirates. I really don't know if this move to Boston will help LaRoche that much. He does get to hit in a better lineup, but it'll probably in the 7th or 8th spot. Plus, Fenway doesn't exactly favor left handed bats as much as right handed ones.
  4. Scouting reports that I've read say he's a decent pitcher with decent stuff. Should be interesting.
  5. Mark's only bad years in my memory was when he was atrocious in the second half of 2006 and a couple of bad starts in 2003. It really is amazing how he gets guys out while only throwing in the mid-80s. He's been doing that for a decade and the league still hasn't figured it out yet.
  6. Holliday's now hitting .287. Too bad his OPS is still below .850. He's gotten me a ton of fantasy points this week though.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 12:55 PM) It's not the door. Someone apparently drilled a hole into her room. Least that's what the radio said. That couldn't have been from the door...
  8. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 10:51 AM) Different camera angle shows he missed him. From 1st base dugout camera...check it out on ESPN.com. Still...too bad, you are going to get bad calls. Here's an idea: don't blow a 10-run lead. The only thing I have to say to this is: HA! Yeah he was safe from that angle. Funny thing is, the ump basically saw the play from that angle too.
  9. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 03:23 PM) i'm gonna continue to post this every time we face niemann....simply because i am still in awe of this HR http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/media/vide...58&c_id=cws That would have made the concourse easily at the Cell.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) The last guy that happened to killed himself. For real? Damn...
  11. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 01:10 PM) I don't know why, but I think he's going to have a great start. I remember the Rays sucked against left handed pitching last year.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) Should be interesting tonight, as bad as Harden has been at Wrigley, especially during the day, his numbers on the road have been way better than his career numbers. The Phillies are the hottest team in baseball right now and mash at home, but they do strike out a ton, and Harden strikes a lot of hitters out. Didn't Harden strike out 7 against Cleveland but also gave up 7 runs as well?
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 10:17 AM) Eh, I heard this about the Cubs all last year(cough*fathom*cough ). Once the playoffs start it is anyones game. Plus, the Dodgers still have last years WS Champions to deal with in the playoffs. Yeah, but the Cubs are the Cubs. The Dodgers aren't the Cubs. The only similarities between the two is that they have blue and red in their team colors. That's about it...
  14. He threw out a guy with the most SBs in baseball and a guy who only got caught stealing once all year. That's saying something. Look what happens if you give A.J. a chance.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 01:10 AM) If that were to happen they should cancel the rest of the season and award the Dodgers the trophy. A good and healthy Schmidt with Billingsley pretty much means the Dodgers are 2009 World Champions. That's like them going out and getting Cliff Lee.
  16. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 12:40 AM) Cuddyer was very much safe. Terrible call. For anyone who didn't see it: Top 9, A's by 1. 1st and 2nd, 2 out, cuddyer at 2B. Wuertz throws a wild pitch that bounces off Kurt Suzuki and up in the air, the ball lands behind him but he can't find it, Cuddyer is racing around 3B and Suzuki finds it, throws home and Cuddyer was called out. Game over. Freeze frame showed that Wuertz might of had the tag down. You can debate whether or not he actually tagged him there, but the ball clearly beat him. Regardless if he was safe or not, you don't give up a 10 run lead to the Oakland A's. Their offense BLOWS. Another great thing that came out of this one was that Matt Holliday got me 22 fantasy points.
  17. I'm going today. Jeff Niemann's been surprisingly good this year. Looks like the Rays were right to send down David Price. Both Niemann and Jason Hammel are having better seasons than Price this year.
  18. Bobby looked so good to Pena and Zobrist. Then he reverted to really bad Bobby. He had a lot of guts to throw a ball out of the zone on 3-2 to Bartlett.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 08:57 PM) Ozzie is protecting Fields!! But Ozzie doesn't like young white players!!! I guess he only likes the bad ones. xD
  20. Why the hell would you even start Josh Fields against a guy who throws 95 when you know he can't hit a fastball above 90?
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 08:49 PM) We're bunting with Beckham? He almost got a hit.
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 08:48 PM) ohmygodcqsmiled Now that's rare. Let's see how he runs.
