  1. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:54 PM) Did Hawk give us another hell yeah?? That's #3.
  2. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:51 PM) FLASHBACKS FROM 2005!!! You better believe it.
  3. Chris Perez out of the pen. Let's hope he is as wild as he was last time.
  4. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:37 PM) Mike Gonzalez was the main piece in that deal. Oh that's right. Well he was the main prospect in that deal then.
  5. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:34 PM) Do we still miss Chris Young and his .196 avg?? Phil Rogers does. Under Walker, he might be hitting .096.
  6. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:32 PM) seriously isnt this the same kid that the sox put up 5 runs and 11 hits against last time out? We didn't hit him till the 4th last time.
  7. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:30 PM) You cant argue the facts. If the Sox had a higher attendance, they would be able to support a higher payroll. Sox fans for better or for worse will only support this team if they are the clear favorites to win. Anything less they are going to be pessimistic. It wasnt always this way, but since the 1994 baseball strike Sox fans have a much different attitude towards attending games. Well you can definitely understand that. We had a team that could have won it all that year and our season had to end because two sides couldn't agree. And JR had something to do with that strike too...
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:29 PM) 8 Sox in a row now retired. This doesn't make any sense. But then again, what has made sense on the team this year?
  9. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:29 PM) Didn't the Cards win the 2006 World Series after only winning 83 regular season games?? I bet their fans thought they were mediocre all yr That team was in first pretty much all year. They really struggled down the stretch.
  10. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:27 PM) It is amazing how bad this team hits at home. Seriously, what's gotten into them? It was the exact opposite last year and it made sense. This year, it doesn't make a lick of sense.
  11. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:25 PM) we are 2 games out of 1st and in the race...our attendance should not be this bad Yeah and we're 2 games above .500. We've been a mediocre team.
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:23 PM) Wow, Brent Lillibridge seems like a distant memory. It's surprising that Lillibridge was actually a 3rd round pick. Then again, the Pirates drafted him. What's even more surprising is that he was the main piece in the Adam LaRoche deal.
  13. What did Kenny expect? He put Fields, Getz, and Wise out there to fill out 3 important positions.
  14. A walk after being ahead. Not cool. We need a DP here. I don't want to see Sizemore with men on base.
  15. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 07:44 PM) I can agree with some of that, but lets face it, how are we gonna get work for all of Jenks, Thornton, Dotel, Linebrink, Carrasco, and now Pena? Perhaps saying a bigger move was the wrong word, but I think something will happen within the next week or so. My guess is that Linebrink will go on the DL. This after Ozzie used him in every opportunity he got about a week or two ago? I don't see it.
  16. I'm watching the game on CBS and I just saw Francisco got caught stealing. My first thought was: A.J. threw somebody out? Then I saw that Mark picked him off.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 07:40 PM) I never buy the concept of a "Move to setup a bigger move" because I can't remember the last time it actually happened. KW made this move because he wanted Tony Pena. Bartolo Colon? Oh wait that was like 6 years ago.
