  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 07:38 PM) Bruce Chen. Gave up an RBI single to Polonco in the 4th, walked Cabrera intentionally, 3 run home run by Thames. Polonco and Cabrera have homers earlier in the game. Makes me wonder why we couldn't tag him for 7 runs.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 07:35 PM) Paul Konerko doesn't like you and wants you to look bad in front of your friends. And I'm perfectly fine with that.
  3. Looks like we won't be hitting Sowers until the 4th or 5th tonight.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 07:32 PM) 5'11". Is he really only 5'11? Wow...
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 07:32 PM) Yes...who we better trade if we're out of it come the deadline. I actually would be fine trading him even if we're in it, especially if a team like Florida views him as a closer. Good point. And we know Florida has some good prospects.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 07:29 PM) Frankly, that's exactly what this sounds like. Except we gave up more than Joe Borchard. Except he's actually shown he can be really good before.
  7. This is a terrible deal. WTF? Why did they have to trade Brandon Allen?
  8. Did not notice that Mark was on-track for 300 wins.
  9. I like Boozer when he's healthy. That's the problem with him. He's usually never healthy. He would be an awesome addition to the team at a good price though.
  10. My friend went and now she's in love with A.J. Like damn, you've never been in love with him after he was part of our 05 championship team?
  11. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 09:38 PM) I love Gordon, but switch hitting, 40+ home run power, 100+ rbi ability, 900 OPS ability, and potential GG 1B don't grow on trees either. Smoak is a damn good hitter. However, Gordon plays a more premier position, and I'm hoping he has the intangibles to be almost like a Dereck Jeter type. Team leader, clutch, the whole "it" factor, etc. He has the ability to produce like Jeter. I also believe that he'll be much better defensively. And he does have something about him that would make him seem like a good leader.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 05:28 PM) Wow. Wow indeed. It's hard to be .500 at everything.
  13. QUOTE (wilmot825 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) Beckham was asked to finish the sentence of "I wish I could transform into..." and Bacon answers, "Megan Fox's bed." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/extr...omen/index.html Scroll down to see the picture with the quote. SLAYER fo sho! HAHAHA.
  14. Wow 15 pages on a rumor that hasn't even mentioned us yet? Damn... Halladay might actually take a Gavin Floyd + prospects.
  15. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 06:45 PM) How Randy Wells performs so well is beyond me. He's got a good change-up and a decent enough fastball to live. He will get hit a lot harder once the league gets to know him a little better.
  16. The Cubs just can't catch a break huh? Good.
  17. I still think we took the better route with Gordon Beckham. You can find power hitting 1B a lot more easily than a .300 hitting middle infielder.
  18. Good to know that he's not just pulling everything in sight.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 05:30 PM) Don't count out Matt Wieters having a huge 2nd half surge, either. He has the huge name recognition, along with Porcello. Almost nobody outside of Canada/AL East cities without a roto team knows much about Romero...good "stealth" candidate. I only play head to head and I have Romero on one of my teams.
  20. Looks like Buehrle's back in it...
  21. I thought Rongey's been much better this year than he has in the past. He used to get really mad at idiots.
  22. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 03:20 PM) There's no reason why Pedroia should be on the team, let alone starting instead of Aaron Hill. The reserve spot should have gone to either Kinsler or Cano. Both started off really hot, but have cooled down, but none-the-less, would be better options than Pedroia. Pedroia's got a SLG below .400. His OPS blows. At least Kinsler and Cano hit for power.
