  1. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 10:47 AM) Didn't Masset always get rocked by the Indians? Like when he got rocked on opening day where he threw like 4 innings of shutout relief to keep us in the game? Yeah, I remember that... I hate Joe Morgan. Back in late June, he said the Sox bullpen was the BEST EVER. Look what's happened. It's 2007 all over again. What's funny is that all the guys from 07 sucked last night. MacDougal actually did get outs, but yeah...he kind of walked 3 batters and hit another. I felt bad for Ozzie yesterday to tell you the truth. But in that situation, where the hell was Adam Russell? At least he can throw strikes more consistently than the three guys Ozzie put out there yesterday to suck. The offense wanted to get us back in first, but the pitching resisted. These last two days have been two of the worst days in my life as a White Sox fan. I started throwing s*** around after Garko hit the slam.
  2. I for one think that Wasserman, MacDougal, and Carrasco might of had a bet with each other as to how many balls they can throw. That was brutal last night. It seemed like they were trying to suck. I haven't seen that many pitchers walk that many batters in that kind of fashion in a long time.
  3. Whenever Swish has a 3-2 count, he usually Ks. 35 Ks in 86 ABs when there's a 3-2 count.
  4. We just can't seem to do anything right right now. We can't hit when we pitch well. We can't pitch when we hit well. Can't we get together one night and do something god damn it? Does this team not want to go anywhere? Are the baseball gods just playing with us? My god, put me out of my misery.
  5. A.J. misses his second home run of the night. Unfortunately, a solo shot doesn't do anything here...
  6. Kill me now. Kill me!!!!! They get no hits and score a run. What is this? I feel like I'm watching my old Legion league team play right now.
  7. Way to not throw strikes. Carrasco always has trouble throwing strikes out of the pen. He's not a reliever. He's a spot starter.
  8. Jesus Christ. I haven't been this mad in a while. Nice relief work guys.
  9. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 01:00 PM) I'm finding it pretty hard to get enthused about any news right now. I am in such a friggin' depressive funk right now..... I felt like staying home for the entire day today after last night's mess. Sleep got my mind on the right track a bit.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 01:41 PM) Ozzie ball is a freaking myth. Ozzie ball is playing the game the right way. Hitting to the opposite field, bunting, hit and runs. Ozzie hasn't had much of that for the past 3 years. Not because he doesn't want to (at times), but because his core players consist of Jim Thome, Paul Konerko, A.J. Pierzynski, and Jermaine Dye. Four players who are way below average in speed. He didn't even have a true leadoff hitter this season. The White Sox won in 05 because of home runs. That's more than true. However, if you have a team who hits 200 home runs, that's going to happen. Konerko and Dye were both good power hitters. Everett wasn't bad either. But when you had a speed burner with an above average OBP and a two hitter with the ability to move runners over, things will obviously be much much better. We executed in 05. Regardless of the way we executed, we got the big hit, we got the crucial runs. We hit sac flys, we got runners in from 3rd with less than 2 outs. We hit much better with RISP and 2 outs. We've been abysmal in all those categories this season.
  11. QUOTE (Yoda @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 12:39 PM) What is there to understand? You had player's like Cotts, Politte, and Hermanson who had career year's! Now where are they? Not to mention that no one knew who or what Jenks offered. The bullpen along with the 4 front man were enough to support a well built team with chemistry. Needless to say, Ozzie ball was in existence at that time. Ozzie ball is execution ball. That's what this team lacks a lot of.
  12. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 12:34 PM) .384/.408/.616/1.024 in 73 AB vs the Sox .244/.285/.330/.615 in 491 AB vs everyone else So yeah, when he's not playing the Sox he kinda sucks at baseball. Add in like 30 bunt hits... He's not a professional hitter. He's just using his speed at this point. He's also getting some fat fastballs 24% of the time too.
  13. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 01:34 PM) He has been amazing... in a mere nineteen innings. The less innings a pitcher throws, the better chance he has to shut us down.
  14. So what happened to Slowey? If he's out for a long time, I doubt the Twins will succeed in the playoffs. Not that they were going to succeed anyways that is...
  15. Kenny is a great GM. However, his philosphy of putting together a team to succeed at our park and our park only is getting old. Yes, we have a World Series ring under his belt, but we also have only one division title under him. Kenny needs to get some more speed so we can be more balanced. 2005 is the perfect example. We scored 741 runs, but we scored them at the right time when we needed them. This 2008 team can't score runs unless we knock it out of the park. I think that's pretty obvious. What's even funnier is that this team might score 800 runs at most. We're at around 775 right now. When you have a power hitting team like ours, you're due for slumps. This slump of ours as of late is at the worst time possible. Kenny really needs to go out and acquire a Chone Figgins or a O-Dog kind of player to balance this team out. We look great on paper, but we are slow, old, and way too streaky. This has been the story of the Sox since Kenny has taken over. It's obvious his philosophy isn't perfect.
  16. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 01:17 PM) I pointed this out in another thread. Their offense leads the AL in runs score on the road. So as they are better at it at home, they just dont slap the ball in the ground and pray. Their pitching is Cy Young at home, and medicore away. That is why their road record sucks. Our offense more biased at our home park. Its real simple, their formula of putting the ball in play works, and ours of swing for the fences works from time to time and when the park is hot in the summer. The Twins actually hit way better at home. .291 at home, .270 on the road. They also have a .254 BAA at home, .295 on the road. It's that dome that makes them good.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 11:56 AM) I wish the Sox had a couple guys like Gomez and Span. Gomez is going to be really good in time and Span is playing out of his mind. Gomez is like Esteban German with more talent. He sucks against everybody but us. He's so f***ing full of himself it's funny. He's a speed guy without an OBP. He might never learn how to walk.
  18. QUOTE (Reddy @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) since when. when's the last time we were hot? my guess, more than a month ago. maybe two. Ask yourself this. What would the Twins be without Justin Morneau? That's what we've had to deal with for the past 3 weeks.
  19. Booing is not going to do this team any good. What I find funny is that our slogan for this year is "Share the Passion, Show the Swagger". We don't have either of those right now.
  20. These are the same f***s who threw s*** on the field because they didn't get a call. Jag bags they are.
  21. The Twins are nowhere near the team the White Sox are. Put these games at a neutral site and watch what happens. We were 7-2 against these f***ers at our house where we played in a real stadium. It's funny that the Twins need a fast turf and high bounces to succeed while they bloop pop ups down the line. It works, but it's pussyball. Their style of play doesn't work in most baseball stadiums, that's why their road record sucks ass. They're built perfectly for their little dome and turf, we're not. We're old, slow, and love to hit pop ups. We just don't match up well against dome teams period. It's not only the Twins. They're not better than us. We just suck at domes.
  22. QUOTE (DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 01:03 PM) Why is it that umpires are allowed to show up players? Players complain to officials in every sport but baseball umps have to be the most confrontational. I guess just chalk it up to good old baseball tradition. Alfonso Marquez is just a jag bag. I think he's had a bad history with Swisher this season.
  23. The Royals beat Liriano last time out with Brandon Duckworth. One loss by the Twins and a win by us today will change the entire complection of this division.
  24. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 08:15 AM) A series in which two game deciding runs scored on questionable calls that could have easily gone the other way to pretty much decide the AL Central is not an expample of why it's needed?? And yet, had we executed, those runs wouldn't of even mattered.
