  1. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 08:39 PM) He won't. To Eyre is human? I'm listening to this on WGN Radio, I don't think Ron Santo is there because I'm not hearing "oh noooo"s. 8-3, this game is OVA.
  2. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 08:35 PM) I am gonna say that Marmol's ERA without looking would be the second worst in our bullpen now after Russell. Not saying I wouldn't love to have his arm, but just funny. Marmol is as about as good as Octavio Dotel now. 7-3 Rays. .
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 08:34 PM) Awesome. For once, there's a reason to see the Cubs struggle. I bet Lou will have some hesitation going to the 'pen tomorrow. In a way, Marmol reminds me of a young Octavio Dotel. Sometimes just bad, other times, too good. Upton with a triple, it's not over.
  4. Crawford with a slam. Good night. Get the brooms ready.
  5. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 07:32 PM) Terrible outing by Marmol. 2 walks and a hit batter to force in a run. 3-2 Cubs now, but the Rays have the bases loaded and no outs. How will Scott Eyre get out of this one...?
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 07:32 PM) Quite the meltdown by Marmol. Two walks, two HBP in the 4 batters he faced. All that, and the umpire was giving him some very generous strike calls. This bodes very well for us tomorrow.
  7. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 03:29 PM) you're right about that http://mlb.mlb.com/stats/individual_player...itSplit1=vsTcha but he's a decent pitcher, he knows what he's doing, and going from a series where pitchers are just absolutely terrible to one where you're facing guys that are pretty decent, sometimes can be trouble for hitters Lilly's career numbers vs. the Sox G GS W L SV CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP BAA 9 9 5 2 0 0 0 46.1 53 32 32 11 20 35 6.22 1.58 .280 He is 5-2 against us, but that ERA and WHIP is not pretty.
  8. Back to 10 games above .500 and another impressive offensive output. Let's carry this over 8 miles north tomorrow.
  9. Sox win, it was a crazy one. JD had a hell of a game.
  10. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) Brewer bullpen imploding at epic porportion Lol 8-7...
  11. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) But what do you think about his large ass? He and Juan Uribe need to be in a competition for that.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 03:36 PM) If they would have fired Walker, they probably would be hitting .400 this month. Probably... Unless we keep on doing this for the rest of the season, Walker needs to go. Inconsistency sucks.
  13. We better have some fuel left in the tank for the Cubs. We've been crushing the ball this week, it should carry over. Then, we'll have a week of offensive futility. That's the way it's been for the last couple of weeks...
  14. If Gavin's goes 5 and holds this lead, I'm happy.
  15. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 01:50 PM) G-Floyd needs a nice 1-2-3. The offense just got him back in the game, he better be grateful.
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 01:33 PM) allright, that's one back, chip away and get to the pen We need to come back with at least 2 or 3 here. Get it back into "slam territory".
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 01:27 PM) Gavin has got to pitch over this... Sox pitchers have a lot of trouble pitching over errors, I don't blame them. When you have to get 4 outs with men on base, it ain't easy. Pablo Ozuna better go 4-4 with 5 RBIs today to stay on this team. He got lazy on that play, he could of went to first, Chavez was running down the line.
  18. Floyd better have his good stuff, we might be in for a long afternoon from what I've seen so far in the bottom of the first.
  19. Ewww...a lefty we've never seen before. *Gulp. What's worse is that he's actually been good.
  20. Great game overall, it was nice to see the Sox add-on some insurance in the 8th. I like how we beat a lefty that we've never seen before. It's a miracle!
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 05:01 PM) i think Crede should be before Dye even. He gets on base more and is better with RISP. I would like Dye to hit 3rd. I don't know why Ozzie has refrained from that ever since we got Thome. IMO, the best middle of the order should be Dye, Thome, Quentin, and Swisher. Crede usually does better lower in the order.
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 05:50 PM) BTW, Gorzelanny is 1-4 with a 9.1 ERA on the road this year (if that hasn't been established yet). We've seen similar circumstances before.
