  1. Jacoby - "Rape! Rape! The Wall is rapping me! Help! Come on J.D. and Manny help me!" Coco - "I hope you can't walk after that, center field and James Shields' face are mine" .
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 11:08 AM) At some point two months of productions no longer becomes a streak but something a player is truly capable of (well, he may never be a consistent .340 hitter, but you don't hit like that on accident). He just has a lot of natural ability and baseball instincts. He seems to find holes on ocassion but I also think it fits in with the type of player he is and while he won't keep hitting .340 (or at least it is doubtful he will), I wouldn't be shocked if he just kept getting better and better from an all-around stand-point. As far as I'm concerned, Ramirez and Quentin are the two brightest stars in the Sox young everyday playing ranks. They are on a whole nother level than a guy like Josh Fields. Fields just has some raw power, but Ramirez and Quentin are true baseball players.
  3. QUOTE (TCQ @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 11:03 AM) If we dont continue the ongoing train that is being run on gorzelanny i will be pissed. I think he has the highest era of any starter in the league. 6.55 is high, but I doubt it's the highest. Remember Jorge De La Rosa?
  4. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 11:04 AM) Ray Ray is a great option if the Giants are willing to part with him. My guess is for a decent prospect, Juan and cash he could be had. Ray Durham is not the answer. Are we gonna sit Alexei then?
  5. The Sox have more to gain in that they'll have 3 more tallies in the win column. All I care are the wins, no matter who we really beat. Although it would be nice for the Cubs fans to shut up for a while. I'm all for making Cubs fans look stupid.
  6. At this point, the best the Sox can probably do is a Willy Taveras. I'd rather have Kenny Lofton than him though.
  7. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 10:40 AM) LH starter + lots of changeups = fits for the lineup. Hopefully, last night was no fluke. I was worried about the same thing going into last week's game against Livan Hernandez. However, Livan throws with his right hand and the Sox had already seen him for an entire game before. So I don't know. Hopefully, we can continue the offensive explosion.
  8. Gorzalanny walks a lot of guys. Hopefully, he doesn't have his control tonight and we can clobber him like we did with Snell. What I'm worried about is that he has a pretty good change-up and a nice slider. Those guys have given the Sox trouble forever. And oh yeah, he's a lefty. There's plenty to watchout for tonight.
  9. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 09:26 AM) Welcome to Soxtalk. I'm liking the board so far.
  10. Only a matter of time before they got their crap together and had a game like this. This team has been on a roller coaster ride for the last month or so. High as hell one week, low as the San Andreas fault another. I guess we'll have to deal with it. Adam Russel was extremely impressive btw.
