I actually looked up how they pitch TA with RISP vs. nobody on. They do pitch him lower and a little more inside but that shouldn't result in him pulling the ball on the ground this much.
I don't think you want Kopech going that deep in this game if he's only going to be effective with his fastball. 2nd time around they're just gonna look heater until he can throw some competitive sliders.
Kopech's only thrown 1 slider even near the zone today. I know Coors affects breaking pitch movement and I wonder if that's why his slider is so bad today.
If he just played average defense at 3B he would probably still be playing regularly, assuming his bat stayed productive. But he had a -6 OAA in his brief time at 3B. It's weird cause I don't think his defense was that bad in 2021.
