I don't think that ever hit the wall on the bobble. Although I think the look on his face said it did lol.

I think the tide of the whole season changed on the first drive of the 2nd half. Having just a functional run game makes Caleb's life way easier. Waldron finally figured out how to use Swift. Johnson got pretty much all the short down yardage runs and I think he converted just about every time. Caleb and the WR corps definitely left a few points out there, especially at the end of the half, but this was a very clean game from him sans a few of those misses in the end zone.

What a choke job from the Twins. Weren't they up by like 5 games 2 weeks ago?
-
It's too bad they don't get to play the White Sox to rescue their season.

The Tigers are now in 2nd place. What epic choke jobs from KC and Minnesota.

Not to mention they're using Swift completely wrong. If Swift doesn't get to the open field, he's useless. He can't fight through contact or make guys miss with no space to work with. It doesn't help that he and Caleb have a ton of issues linking up on screens (which is probably the best part of his game). It was encouraging that he actually got a few first downs in that 4th quarter. I think Roschon needs more snaps, especially in early down situations. His running style fits the line much more. He can actually fight through contact and fight for yards. Swift running for 1-2 yards on first down is an absolute drive/momentum killer.

Eberflus is not a serious coach. How do you not have them ready to go for 2 immediately? You wasted a timeout for that?
-
Just when you thought things were turning around he does that...

Caleb finally completed a deep pass.

Wow we've played some awful quarterbacks

This offense is unwatchable...

The funny thing is that the Sox recently have been awful at playing small ball. It's why we suck so much in extra innings. We can't get people over and get them in.

It seems like the only way at this point. Shame Jerry to change or sell the team. Then the team can truly rebuild the right way. I hate that it had to come to this, we're gonna be in the history books forever. But if it really changes the way this team is run, it's worth it.

How was our injury record so good under Herm Schneider when it turned out he was awful at his job (according to Peavy)? It had to be either black magic or pure luck.

The Athletic article pretty much points out that the Sox can't fix Vargas cause the Sox don't know how to fix it. The Dodgers probably gave Vargas a ton of information on how to approach pitchers, where they'll attack him, etc. The Sox probably just tell him to be patient and good luck.

At least the Tigers can bank on at least 3 wins.

I really don't think the article absolves Hahn of blame. But it sure does make his record as GM a bit murky given how KW and LaRussa came into the picture right when things were turning around.

The Athletic: Must Read article on Jerry Reinsdorf/White Sox

There was probably some sort of hierarchy for the players. Vets like Abreu go first. Makes you wonder if that helped divide the team back in 2022. -

It's gonna take a 7-4 finish to tie the Tigers for the worst record in the 162 game era. I don't see it happening, but maybe they have something cooking right now. -

At this rate, Benintendi might be tradeable by next July. -
I mean Eberflus' defense is legit. I think that's the only reason he still has a job and it's what's going to keep him in this job as long as he stops doing dumb challenges on obvious plays.

He wasn't pressured on all but 1 dropback. That's 38 total pressures on 39 pass attempts. There can be multiple pressures on a single play. That's bad to begin with, but it's not like he was pressured on every single play. It was something like 23 out of 39. Which is still objectively awful, but nowhere near as disastrous as 38 of 39 pass attempts. But like I said yesterday, the TTT metrics are saying he's getting rid of the ball quickly and that's what I saw last night. He's not trying to hit the home run ball on every play. He's playing within structure. It's just that the offensive line absolutely blows and he can't hit the deep shots when they're there. All the criticisms of Caleb's game coming out of college have not really come to fruition at the pro level. It's actually a lot of his strengths in college that haven't translated so far.

I guess Jerry needed a way to incentivize people to watch this god awful team for the next few years. Goes for the Bulls too. But this is seriously really cool.
