  1. The Texans figured out we couldn't pick up overloads whatsoever. I don't think Caleb held onto the ball that long in this game. In fact, I think he actually improved on that from last game and I think the TTT metrics will show that. The 36 pressures were mostly a product of a terrible performance from the offensive line.
  2. We ran the ball 20 times for 70 yards and 40 of those were from Caleb's improvising after he ran away from pressure. You can't setup play action without a run game. So getting any easy chunk plays in the pass game is nearly impossible. Add on to the fact that Caleb isn't making teams pay on deep throws when they play blitz looks and it's just open season on him. Bad line + blitzes + no ability to hurt teams downfield = really shitty offense. Caleb is not without criticism because he absolutely should be better. He's looked fine reading defenses for the most part. I was actually surprised at how often he changed things at the line. That's not something a ton of rookie QBs do or even get to do. But it really feels like he has no chemistry with his receivers. Moore and Odunze were obviously not on the same page as Caleb on a lot of those throws in the 2nd half. Moore looked like he wanted Justin Fields back. But the worst thing of all is the accuracy on some of these deep throws. He missed an open DeAndre Carter again. He underthrew Kmet and Moore on his picks. I don't think deep ball accuracy was ever an issue for him in college and you'd think that arm strength and accuracy usually translates from college to the NFL. I hope it's some sort of mechanical issue because that's at least fixable. It's not like he doesn't have a strong arm, he's shown that on quite a few plays so far. But the main problem with the offense is the offensive line. They didn't play well last year, but they were not this bad. They can't pick up stunts or any kind of pressure. What's worse is they can't run block either and that was a strength of the line last year. Until they go back to being a somewhat serviceable line, this team is gonna struggle on offense and Caleb is gonna either get hurt or start seeing ghosts.
  3. Nothing on offense works cause we can't run or pass block. It doesn't help that Caleb can't throw the ball down field. His accuracy on these floating deep balls is so disappointing.
  4. 6 games back with 14 to play. Tonight's game has to be the nail in the coffin for the Cubs.
  5. I have no idea why Kentucky punted down 1 with 3 minutes left at midfield. They deserved to lose just for that despite outplaying Georgia for most of the game.
  6. This may be wishful thinking by me, but Benintendi has actually been decent at the plate in the 2nd half. Maybe his contract will be tradeable with a good first half next year.
  7. I'm surprised they found someone to insure his contract in the first place.
  8. Levis is awful. I expected Caleb to struggle a little bit, but that was a lot. The batted passes and the overthrows seemed so uncharacteristic of him. They've gotta work on him throwing with a higher arm angle on passes over the middle. Hopefully that is his worst game this year, cause doing that against a competent team would have been a blow out loss. Also the defense is the real deal. Outside of like 2 drives they gave the Titans nothing.
  9. That flip to Swift with the defender right in his face was something else. Also the arm strength and accuracy of some of those out of pocket off-balance throws was really encouraging too. I would have liked to see more quick-game stuff and some quick throws though. Overall really good game to get his feet wet and take in some NFL snaps.
  10. Well if it's 120 this year and 115 next year, they'll be competitive in...8 years?
  11. He's someone that's played the game at a high level at least somewhat recently. Maybe the players will actually respect him unlike Grifol's fake bullshit.
  12. Dude will never get a managerial job ever again. I wouldn't hire him to manage a little league team.
  13. I'm glad they cleaned house of the main guys on the management staff. Hopefully this is a big enough shake up for them to at least win 40 games this year.
  14. Yeah it felt like when he was talking to the players, the players almost seemed to ignore him. I get this feeling that he doesn't command respect as a head coach.
  15. If you're anyone associated with this front office and managerial staff, you should probably never get another job in baseball. I know this team was supposed to suck this year by design, but it takes something special to put together a team that can't win 40 games.
  16. Oops I thought it was the Philadelphia A's.
  17. They can tie the longest losing streak of all time, held by the A's...against the A's.
  18. How is Pedro still employed? This team might set the record for the longest losing streak of all time. They do play the A's next but with the way they've played, I don't even know if they can win one against Oakland. I'm almost glad I don't live in Chicago anymore, cause it's honestly embarrassing to be a Sox fan right now. At least nobody cares in Austin.
  19. Wow we actually turned Tanner Banks into something?
  20. 3 prospects for 3 Major Leaguers is insane... And it's not like any of those prospects are really really good or anything.
