  1. I'm shocked we haven't acquired Nicky Lopez yet.
  2. It makes me think we gotta overpay for him. I think 4 years and $15 million a year is probably what his market is. The Sox might have to pay a few extra million to get him here.
  3. Jean Segura is projected to get $12-13 million a year. There's no way that's happening for the Sox. There's a better chance of them bringing back Andrus to play 2B.
  4. His GB% did go up in KC last year. Then when he got traded, it went to the lowest of his career. It was definitely a change in approach. FWIW, his splits since he joined KC have favored his numbers on the road by quite a bit. Kaufmann was definitely holding him back.
  5. Here's something to think about when it comes to Benintendi and his power. In 2021, Benintendi hit 17 homers while playing half of his games in KC's giant stadium. His expected HR if he played his games at GRate was 29. Last year, Benintendi hit only 5 homers while playing mostly in KC and a month in Yankee Stadium. Despite a career high BA, his ISO while in KC was only .078. Half of his career ISO. Once he moved to Yankee Stadium, his batting average dropped but his power went back to his career norms with a .149 ISO. It's very evident that Benintendi altered his approach in KC to play to its spacious dimensions. I don't think the drop in power last year was because he lost his power. It was just him tailoring his approach to fit the ballpark he was playing in. I think he goes back to being a 20 home run guy if he plays half of his games at the Rate.
  6. They could be trying to solve the 2B and C issues all at once.
  7. That's basically what happened to him in Tampa last year. He was awful for them.
  8. I thought that too but there's a emoji for that specific thing. ?
  9. Will this encourage him to get in shape this off-season?
  10. I'd rather have Syndergaard. He was at least an average starter last year.
  11. Personally, I don't really like Liam celebrating every save like it's the World Series. Maybe in the moment it feels fine, but if I were a neutral and not excited that the Sox just won, it would feel cringey as hell. I get why he does it, but I can see how people can find it annoying. It's one of those things where you're fine with it cause he's on your team, but if he wasn't, you'd be annoyed. Oldsox mentioned that old people don't like rehearsed celebrations. Liam's is about as rehearsed as there is cause he does it after EVERY save. TA did his bat slam celebration like twice.
  12. I give him about as good of a shot as Grandal bouncing back. At least his injury wasn't to his legs, which you definitely need to have healthy as a catcher.
  13. I'm not sure how much they paid, but he could be a real nice bounce back candidate. He had a 4.5 WAR season in 2021 before he had theoracic outlet syndrome.
  14. I doubt Liam would want to play in St. Louis. He does have a limited NTC.
  15. The Jays are a poor fit for us to trade with if we want MLB pieces back outside of Danny Jansen. They need left handed OFers, we also need left handed OFers.
  16. That Hader trade may have derailed the Brewers last year, but it got them William Contreras.
  17. Cards said f*** your asking price we're just gonna spend money.
  18. Contreras sucks at catching, but at least he can hit.
  19. He should only hit better once he's out of Oakland. He had a 129 wRC+ on the road last year and only 114 at home. The gap is a whole 20 points in wRC+ for his career.
