  1. That site has a lot of dumb edge cases you can exploit to make "fair" trades even though there's no way they can occur IRL. I feel like their model does not value superstar players correctly. Baseball is not just a game of surplus value. An elite 5-7 WAR player getting paid $35 million a year should not be considered neutral surplus value. 7 WAR players don't grow on trees. You also can't just spread his money to 7 different 1 WAR players and consider it the same since roster spots also have value. I feel like the tool is a good place to gauge general value for mid and low market players, but they have no way of actually calculating the true value of a guy like Machado, Harper, Tatis, etc.
  2. Not to mention that without Judge, the Yankees are probably a wild card team last year at best.
  3. That guy laid out his entire contract structure with all the incentives. I think I've seen some of his videos on YT.
  4. Eovaldi also isn't that good and had arm issues lat year.
  5. It's because Lux has twice the amount of control and he's dirt cheap the next 2 years. Gleyber is estimated to be paid $24 million these next 2 years.
  6. Wow Torres really doesn't have a lot of surplus value does he?
  7. The better question is this: is Josh Bell the brother in law of any superstar players?
  8. I do like the idea of a free agent window like they have in soccer.
  9. Please tell me your source isn't one of the foodies.
  10. I read that and any ounce of optimism I had about this off-season just went out the window.
  11. It's fitting that Correa might just end up being an expensive mercenary you hire for 1 or 2 years.
  12. It's teams that don't have Pride night, obviously.
  13. Yeah but how many teams would be willing to give him $20 million?
  14. How did Estevez get more than Kahnle?
  15. But we didn't see Preller have a press conference about how shocked he was under his sunglasses.
  16. Is the $180 million mark Fegan mentioned the luxury tax payroll or the actual payroll? Cause our luxury tax payroll is estimated to be around $187 million already. But our actual payroll is $167 million.
  17. I'd much rather trade Graveman, but I have my concerns about Liam's arm holding up. I think a combination of Lopez/Graveman at closer will be fine. If we're gonna need a closer to constantly close out close games like last year where we struggled to consistently score 4 runs a game, then I don't think this team is going anywhere anyhow. Improve our position players and maybe then we can worry about the bullpen.
  18. Yankees do need a closer. Liam does have a NTC, I wonder if NY is on that list.
  19. Blue Jays are trying to trade him, but I doubt that guy knows anything.
