I pay more in gas for cooking than gas for heating in the winter lol. Winters here are pretty nice for the most part. Which is a big reason I don't want to move back to Illinois full time. Maybe when I become wealthy enough I'll buy a summer home in Illinois.
I got lucky and my power never went out since I live close to a fire station and I pay a constant rate for my electricity. But people who were on variable rate plans got fucked. All those smaller electric companies like Griddy went out of business cause their customers couldn't afford to pay the crazy ass prices which in turn meant they couldn't pay the providers.
Texas has nice weather from March-early May. And then October to around December. January and February is usually when we see the odd snow storm or cold front. I do prefer it to having to shovel snow regularly and it being 10-20 degrees out regularly, but the summers here suck. It sucks to go outside in the middle of the day in July and August. It also didn't rain this year for like 2 months and it was constantly 100+ out every day.
Donovan said LaVine had knee issues when he tried to ramp up activity the week before the opener. Sounds like they're being super cautious. It just sucks that he hasn't played a single game yet with his new max deal and he's already got knee issues. This smells like DRose all over again.
Texas is actually willing to spend a lot of big money. We're not. We're better than the Rangers but the new manager wouldn't be stuck with a pretty much set roster in Texas.

The Jays are the best situation to take over for a manager this off-season. That's one less team the Sox have to compete with for a manager...assuming they actually want to hire someone like Espada.
I'm pretty sure Houston is gonna win this series, only to lose in the WS to an NL East team that got hot at the right time cause they've done that twice now in the past 3 years.
I was pretty bummed about this game with LaVine hurt, but DeMar showed up again big time. Ayo was really good as well. Impressive win on the road against a really good Miami team.
They're not. They might get Benintendi and DJM back this series though so that might help them. Their LF situation is a total disaster.
Their bullpen depth is also shot so I have a hard time seeing them winning multiple games in a row without off days in between.
So after ducking Cease vs. Civale twice this season, the Guardians decided to not duck Civale in their most important game of the year and it bites them in the ass. I know it's petty, but it just feels right.
Their bullpen is 5-6 deep with guys Francona can trust. Instead he went with the guy who hadn't pitched for 2 weeks with a 5 ERA on the season. It was a bad decision.
