  1. Looks like every road team besides Tampa will win their series. So much for home field.
  2. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2022/10/09/2022-mlb-award-predictions-aaron-judge-mvp-cy-young-rookie-picks/8221158001/ Bob says that the Sox want an experienced manager and that Bochy, Shildt, and Ron Washington are current front runners.
  3. Bob says the Sox will not re-sign Jose and that everyone is available for trade except Cease and Vaughn. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2022/10/09/2022-mlb-award-predictions-aaron-judge-mvp-cy-young-rookie-picks/8221158001/
  4. Pollock actually hit close to his career averages in the 2nd half of the season and his defense was also much. better. But he's just a frustrating player to watch. Constantly popping the ball up on the infield and not being able to hit RHP gets real old. I think there is a chance he can rebound to being a 2+ WAR player next year, but that's not changing the outlook of this team.
  5. Phillies went from 7 games under, firing their manager, to making the playoffs and beating a pretty good Cardinals team in the first round. If only another team with a bad manager did something similar.
  6. I don't think any of them are wrong answers. Goldschmidt was the best hitter in the NL.
  7. They must have come across whatever the White Sox hitters were reading.
  8. Goldy and Arenado both choked big time. Cardinals might be done.
  9. I think they want him to get the top and middle of the order out and have Ottavino pitch to the bottom of the order. Not the worst idea but if it blows up people are all gonna ask why they didn't save Diaz for the 9th.
  10. Only 26% sliders this game, although he threw his slider 6% more this year than he did last year.
  11. So what exactly is different about deGrom this year? The guy is still throwing 100+. The location doesn't look terrible. Yet guys had no chance against him last year but he actually looks hittable this year.
  12. I read this before he removed the backstory. The backstory didn't make a whole lot of sense. Apparently he works at Panera and at the ER? Maybe I misread that part or am misremembering it. Either way, I find it hard to believe anybody would talk this long and in this detail to a stranger about gossip at their job. All this must have taken hours to talk about.
  13. Mariners seem like a team of destiny. Down 8-1 in the 6th and now up 10-9.
  14. The Twins just roll over for the Yankees no matter what. The players all change yet the same mental block is there. It's so weird. I think the Rays were just bad and cold. Yandy and Randy were their only real threats offensively. None of those guys really scare you as they aren't huge power threats. Wander was supposed to be the guy for them but he was mostly hurt this year. The Yankees at least have 5 or 6 guys that will make you respect their ability to hit the ball out of the park. It'll be interesting to see how they do against Bieber since they've hit him well historically.
  15. Hernandez is pretty much the only guy in their lineup that mashes lefty pitching. Vlad, Bo, and Springer have reverse splits. Chapman and Kirk are more of less split neutral. It just so happened that the one guy who really mashes lefties hurt Ray today.
  16. Paul Seawald just blew up. He had been shaky recently too.
  17. Yankees also finished the year poorly. Cleveland has a shot, especially since the Yankees have been sitting at home for 5 days. The only real advantage of getting the bye is that the team from the first round can't throw their best pitcher in game 1.
  18. Rays are terrible. They've been bad for a few weeks now. Baltimore could have provided better opposition than Tampa.
  19. Gonzalez finally ends it. My god, the series was won by scoring a whole 3 runs.
  20. Rays finally get a guy on 3rd with less than 2 outs and strike out lmao
  21. I was surprised Margot couldn't beat that.
  22. It would be real fitting if Ramirez hits a walk off homer here.
  23. Ramirez made a similar play on Engel in that game we blew a 6 run lead.
  24. This is some pathetic offense from the Rays
  25. MLB is doing Nathan for You jokes now. You love to see it.
