What's our rank for team fielding? Gotta be at least bottom 5. I can't remember seeing so much sloppy baseball to start the second half ever.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) uhhhh, is josh the umps name? Cause he was out about 3 times before he hit the bag Sorry. Watching on GameDay. Didn't know it was a blown call. 2 on, no out. Get Buehrle out of there.
-
Good job Josh. Showing why we made you 'untouchable'.... Paulie needs to be benched. Period. No more chances.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 08:00 PM) We'd be ahead .5 game right in that scenario? Right? or am I going crazy Yes we would. They'd gain 2 games on us if they won 3.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 07:59 PM) Buehrle was awesome through 2 1/3. Let him get out of the inning. Yeah, but hes having an absolutely horrid inning here right now. Those two homers were BP pitches. I don't know what happened.
-
Alright, this is just disgusting now. Get the hell out of this inning, and let's see if the offense can pull their heads out of their asses.
-
Buehrle obviously not on tonight. Hopefully, it doesn't carry over. We're finished if Buehrle struggles.
-
Hopefully Kenny is on the phone right now..
-
Man, that was one of the easiest home runs I have EVER seen. He destroyed it, with no effort. Horrible pitch by Buehrle. Hopefully, it's out of his system now.
-
Worst 3 ABs I've seen in a while.
-
Well well well. What do we have here? A 2-out, 2 RBI base hit for Jim Thome after the 7th inning? Soxtalk is doomed...
-
Javy is just absolutely horrid right now. When was his last good start? Turn it around, please!
-
Unfortunately, I don't see him getting the MVP. He'll finish top 5 probably, like Dye did in 2006.
-
Wow, Quentin looked pissed after Toby got him.. is it just annoying some of the team now? Carlos seems to be all-serious, all the time. Anyways, hell of a game! What a come back!

Thanks for showing us why we are so happy you are no longer our starter, Uribe! Lazy throw, same old same old. -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 09:11 AM) Really looking foward to watching Richard at work today. Nothing like watching baseball instead of doing work. I don't feel great about him, but who knows the Rangers don't hit lefties well and Richard keeps it down. When was the last time that pitcher came up and performed well? B-Mac and before that probably Buehrle. Guys who come up from the minors for the Sox usually stink, let's hope that trend reverses. I really hope that Richard creates a contreversy about keeping him in the rotation or Contreras. And Richard is from LaFayette, Ind., so I am sure he will have some family/friends at the game, which could help or hurt I suppose, but probably help and give him a bit more comfort. I would gladly take 5 inn, 2 ER or 6 inn, 3 ER, nothing spectacular, but efficient and keeps the team in the game. Does Lance Broadway count? Last year, he pitched in 4 games (1 start), 10.1 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, and 14 Ks. Guess it wasnt sustained enough. -
The guys is just an absolute gamer. He shows up and plays to the best of his ability every game. When he's off, he doesn't seem to let it bother him that much, and he eventually figures it out. I love this man!

QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 04:36 PM) I don't see what much we can improve on besides a 5th starter. We just need to hit better as a team. Really? I don't think so at all. We can't really do much better on offense right now. Current MLB Rankings (AL Rankings): AVG: .265 - 10th (6th) SLG: .442 - 3rd (3rd) OBP: .338 - 9th (5th) HRs: 133 - 3rd (1st) So, we are in the top 10 for every category that matters really. The only thing we desperately need is a base stealing threat, as we are #25 in the league in those. Basically, the offense is the last of our worries right now.

QUOTE (FranktheTank35 @ Jul 18, 2008 -> 02:24 AM) This will be a good one! I think we'll win it though, maybe like 4-1, 4-2. I feel Dye will have a good game.. let's find out! Player of the game!

I say he's got almost no chance, saddly. He's a pretty inconsistent pitcher, as most of us know. When he's on, he's solid. When he's off, he's way off. This doesn't sound like a Hall of Famer to me. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy. He's a class act, and he's been a great pitcher for this team for years, and hopefully a few more years to come. But I don't see him getting into the Hall. Jim and Frank for sure though. Bold prediction coming here... Quentin.
