QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 02:37 PM) To me, the best way to improve is to play against the best players out there, that's where I'll always disagree with everyone. He's proven he's mentally tough enough to bounce back if and when he falters so lets get him up here and play against the best competition possible. He's not fully developed of course but to me this is the best possible thing for his development. I've never bought the whole "brought up too soon and ruined a guy". If a little failure "ruined" a player, he probably wasn't any good to begin with.

QUOTE (reiks12 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 01:13 PM) So tired of the negativity. This team is at .500 with only 3.5 GB AT THE START OF JUNE! There is still months left. You would think the way you have been posting this team is 10 GB. There's still plenty of the season left. Must be brutal and depressing watching this team hoping shields is as bad or worse than shields. Have you watched any of the last 30 or so games? They squandered a 5+ game lead in the division so quickly it was almost impressive. They have been an unwatchable absolute garbage team since that loss in Texas.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 10:45 AM) Playing time- does Saladino start more or does Anderson? Is Anderson being used more as a PH/pinch run? 0 point in bringing him up to be a pinch runner

Wonder what it would take to get 2014 Jose Abreu

Matt Albers crushed an opposite-field double

Did we just solve the DH problem? -
bah why did I bother watching again, f*** this team. Enjoy the final 2 days in 1st place for 2016.

Another overreaction I'm done with this team thread
jenksycat replied to kitekrazy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
JR needs to go really, same s*** until that happens. I usually give up on the Sox around mid-april, so bravo for stringing me along till nearly June this time. Only 2 reliable starters (luckily both happen to be aces), flash in the pan bullpen, best power hitter now a slappy singles hitter who looks completely lost most of the time, corpse batting 2nd the entire season. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 4, 2016 -> 09:35 PM) He's consulting with KW over the big board list right now, as we speak. Speaking of vices, though, one would have thought the "traditional Hahn" would have been in less of a hurry to dump John Danks when there was no clear-cut solution waiting in the wings. The White Sox were still in first place by more games than at any point since mid-June, 2008. Literally anyone with at least 1 arm was a solution -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 3, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) The loyalty and White Sox won't eat money cards have been sent to the shredder. Or there just went the Laroche money

Sox attended Lincecum showcase day - Angels expected to sign him
jenksycat replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'd rather give a start to every random reach/flyer SP out there and hope to strike averageness than to throw Danks at this point -
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 2, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) Yeah, if the Sox get that far, good luck beating them in a playoff series where the rotation goes Sale-Q-Latos-Rodon-Sale-Q-Latos. Even if you assume you beat Rodon, which isn't a given, you still have to win 3 games against the other three. Latos will also come back down earth. Hopefully Rodon will improve to offset that Back end of the bullpen could also potentially be Fulmer/Nate/Albers/Robo in some order later in the season if we're in the race still which would be nas-tee.

QUOTE (South Sider @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 08:14 PM) The only thing I was missing about that Navarro homer was Hawks call of it. "That ball hit deep! He looks up! You can put it on the board, YES!" Instead, we got a silent moment. Don't get me wrong, I like Jason but I sure do miss Hawks home run calls. Not this year....Navarro would have been just touching 3rd by the time Hawk realized it was a dinger. -
QUOTE (harkness @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 09:55 PM) I actually haven't heard Hawk really complain about umpires for nearly two full seasons... I'll ad "Gone is originality" Hawk's complained several times about umpires in his few games this season...not to mention the only thing he still had going - his homerun call - is now 0 for 2016 on being able to tell when a ball will clear the fence within 30 seconds of it landing. Jason had me today with "Matt Like Reflexes" after the double play.

Am I crazy or was he considered a "5 tool CF'er" as a prospect at one point? Send him down, a platoon of Cubs pitchers would be better than our "DH" right now.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 09:21 PM) So you guys are fine with Avila facing lefties on a regular basis (relievers, when a RHP starts) because of your belief in this "second catcher" stuff? What's your source for the odds of someone getting hurt to be 1%? -
Hawk is 0 fer 2016 on homer or potential homer calls which is his only remaining value. Might be time to move him to a sound board run by someone who can see further than 20 feet
-
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 4, 2016 -> 07:13 PM) Has CSN Chicago got with the times and allow people to stream the games yet, like most other teams? Other teams/networks let you do that? Thought that was an MLB archaic blackout type rule
-
QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Mar 31, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) So this may be too off topic for this forum. Move it to the Ticket Exchange if you'd like (just doesn't really get any traffic over there, so thought better chance getting an answer here) Does anybody have any idea of how you could track down a season ticket holder? Like, do you think the Sox ticket folks would ever release if asked? There is a guy who has Scout Seats on StubHub for many, many games. The only thing is I don't really want to pay $60 in fees. And I know StubHub... he's paying about the same. Was thinking if I could find him we could both meet in the middle and come out on top. Was also thinking by the off chance someone here might know the people OR even post here. Side note: If you do have Scout Seats and you are interested in selling a few games I'd also be interested in listening. Or any other prime seats. Diamond seats. Gold seats. etc. Thanks, Unless you're getting a great deal, you can buy them face value directly from the sox too. I get opening day Homerun Club tickets pretty easily

Hawk + Bad Sox teams = TV on mute the entire season

QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 4, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) That would be a ton of money for Cubs to spend on a 4th outfielder and give up their 2nd round pick for. They also have no need for him in a year or so, as they really want Almora to be their GG center fielder in the future. They still have to give up the pick even though they were the team that made the QO?

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 3, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb-news/46920...signated-hitter This happened like 3 weeks ago, and I'm surprised how muted the response has been. Perhaps thats because the real fight hasn't begun for it, but it just seems like a gigantic change to the makeup of the league and changes to status quo usually are met with much more resistance. Any thoughts on this? Pretty good news for bad fielding 1b and free agency. Didn't this already get axed for 2017?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 10:18 AM) If they weren't going to upgrade the outfield, trading Thompson to a team that doesn't even need him made no sense. Fowler would have been measured against a 1.5 war in terms of upgrade rather than Avi. And, if the improvement's so great (Frazier vs. Saladino), then why are we content with that same player at SS? The Dodgers not needing an OF'er means absolutely nothing to the sox. Frazier upgrade over Saladino is much larger than the slight downgrade between Saladino over Alexei.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 07:48 PM) Heyman also made it sound like Boras is really pushing Davis to other teams. He mentioned the Tigers and Nationals as possibilities Hope he goes to the Tigers, it'd be fun finding 3 DH spots for Miggy/Vmart/Davis

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 02:44 PM) I like it from a team's standpoint. You don't have to pay a guy in his possible declining years and not be tied up into bad money. It's an opt out for the player, not the team. If he sucks next year he won't opt out.
