  1. jesus you guys are reading into this like its the f***ing Zapruder film. He realizes he put the team/org in a tough spot and is willing to do whatever he needs to help. Is that really unfathomable?
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 10:29 AM) Not to mention even the Dbag sells his house and leaves, someone else is going to pay those taxes. Is there a big market in Ohio for a mansion the size of a mall?
  3. I'll base my opinion off it from people who live there, lived there, or have family there. Not from a millionaire blowhard who stays at a resort in between his "humanitarian" efforts This too
  4. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 10:52 AM) So the only way you can discuss another countries politics is if you live there? Only if you want to be accurate and not a massive blowhard about it like that tool Penn is.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 05:22 PM) Yeah, I don't want to derail the thread, but it would actually be better for them to just throw them out. Feel free to derail and explain why a bunch of poor people getting free clothing is a bad thing.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 04:54 PM) as a side note: these types of donations are the worst possible kind of charity. Refrain from putting your well-meaning effort toward those should the case arise. I'll be happy to point you toward charities doing the most effective work in their fields. Huh? I don't really see anyone praising this...it's more of a "hey we could either throw all this s*** out or give to some poor people" move.
  7. I really need to look through the 200+ pages to find who posted that a post move for Lebron was "irrelevant in today's game"
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 01:19 PM) ...I guess I'm the only one who realizes we are still under .500 and 3.5 games back behind...the Cleveland Indians. and we were 9.5 back and 7 games under a month ago.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 08:48 AM) And 2 penetrating #1 scorers has never worked, or really been tried, in the NBA before either. Maybe that's what Lebron chucked horrible jumpers in crunch time rather than drive on the 50 year old Kidd
  10. the 70's graphics are fun and all, but what's the f***ing score. My internet-less dad's gotta be pissed right now
  11. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 11:47 AM) Didn't Lebron have a 4 possesion stretch in the last couple minutes of: miss, charge, turnover (lost ball), miss? THE KING The hate is not irrational, the guy is a colossal d-bag who has yet to win a thing in his life.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 08:00 AM) Y'all know what might have helped Lebron find a groove if his jumper wasn't falling? A rudimentary low-post game. /Reminder. Who was it arguing that "a low-post game is meaningless"? That was a funny stance. You mean to tell me you didn't like when Brawn chucked a horrible jumpshot with J-Kidd guarding him late in the game? A post game would definitely have not helped in that situation
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) But they have to play Korver's minutes and no more, because otherwise we're sacrificing defense. Which is fine, the key being actually hitting a damn shot which Korver couldn't do. Same with Bogans, find someone who can D like bogans and shoot just slightly better and its the same deal. And I personally think the Heat are F'd in the future anyhow. They have to pray the new CBA doesn't demolish them and that their captain Wade doesn't get hurt over the next 5 years (which I see as impossible)
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 01:22 PM) Yes, I actually do want 2006 Kobe. The real issue is...how the Hell do you beat the Heat unless you can find that? That's the real problem. A guy who could make us better in the regular season might well make us worse against the Heat. That was the catch-22 that was built when the Heat put themselves together. They've got 2 of the best offense/defense players in the league surrounded by guys who can sub in and out for offense and defense. If they add some size this offseason...how do you beat it if you can't match it? We tried to outdefend Dwyane Wade and still lost. Do we think that we can actually outscore Dwyane Wade? Fixed the bolded We were tied in 3/4 losses deep in the 4th quarter. We couldn't close it out, it wasn't like we were blown away by them. That same team with someone who can hit the occasional open shot and Rose/Boozer figuring out how to run a pick and roll wins that series easily. EDIT- AND we got virtually nothing from Noah. He wasn't the same after the injuries, if he manages to heal up and play a healthy playoffs it's and easy win as well.
  15. The only silver lining if the Heat do win will be watching Wade hoist the MVP trophy while Bron Bron politely claps in the background with his championship hat on.
  16. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 05:10 AM) Well at least I won't have to listen to Jackson on the Broadcast Booth no longer after this season. Very interesting hire, and I actually applaud the Warriors owners for going down that pat and swinging for the fences. Sure they could have gone a safe option with a guy like Dwayne Casey, but that franchise needs some buzz, and Jackson is at least going to give the franchise more air time in the media's eyes. I wonder. If he will coach.Like he talks. In the broadcast booth.Because.That.Could get old.Very.Very.Quickly
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 19, 2011 -> 11:49 AM) Kotsay - .273/.378/.325/.702 Dunn - .202/.323/.372/.695 Uhh, where are those Kotsay numbers from? MLB The Show '11?
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 05:23 PM) Uhm...of course he is. Ozzie is too loyal. Walker can only hurt players, not help. Silly Ozzie
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 31, 2011 -> 05:05 PM) I think he's totally a bust. We've won nothing with him and he can't hit the ball. Anderson could field if we wanted a .200 hitter who can field out there at $1 mill a year. His 2010 season (his first full season) was the best season from a Sox CF in a long time. How you can say "we've won nothing with him" is a bit ridiculous. Is he overpaid? Of course, but give me Rios over the slew of crap we've trotted out there the last 5 years any day. QUOTE (forrestg @ May 31, 2011 -> 05:05 PM) I would hope not but we're not seeing a 17 million dollar product presently. My point was, you can't claim that the Dunn signing is a bust because his contract is "technically" worth -3.95 million right now without also believing he will do that for the next 3.5 years as well. If you think its a bust, then you must also think he will hit like this for the next 4 years.
  20. QUOTE (forrestg @ May 31, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) 17 million contract dollar contract current value 500,000 dollar est. So you believe Dunn will hit .190 for the remainder of the contract?
  21. QUOTE (sircaffey @ May 27, 2011 -> 01:34 PM) What should he have done? traded away the key to our awesome bench for a below average SG who's poor defense would have evened out the slight offensive upgrade clearly.
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ May 26, 2011 -> 11:41 PM) Indians, Sox, and Tigers all have 30 quality starts. Indians 23-7 Tigers 20-10 Sox 18-12 Masterson and Tomlin are 18 for 19 in QS. That's not going to last, and that's why they'll come back to earth. I still refuse to consider the Indians as first place. I see us as 2.5 back from Detroit for 1st place.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:12 PM) Strength is not a physical gift. And I'd bet the house that he doesn't do anything vastly different than any other superstar, ie making his physical attributes a gift. Luol Deng could be the hardest working NBA player on earth and could never come close to the same body type Bron Bron was given.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) By virtue of magic and not working hard, I guess? Uh, what? Those are all physical gifts, I don't think they've created a way to work on your height yet although it may be in a lab somewhere. And it's not about "the game has changed" bs...he's dominant without a post game, imagine what he'd be WITH a post game. Either way, hes still a colossal tool, not much he can work on for that
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2011 -> 02:54 PM) If he spent the summer working on a post game as hard as Rose spent last summer working on his jumpshot, it'd be a sight to behold. Suddenly give him multilple methods of scoring the ball making use of his size. I really do wonder what he does in the off season. Been in the league 8 years and has 0 post game. He's bigger, stronger and faster than 99% of the people who can even consider guarding him...and he has no post game. Makes 0 sense, or really makes 100% sense that he doesn't reaaaaalllly give a s*** as long as he gets to play house with his buddies.
