  1. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 23, 2011 -> 12:48 PM) I wish I could find some positives in this to give me some hope. I just can't find them. That we played horrendously and were in it most of the game? That we have gotten virtually nothing from Rose since he decided to stop driving the whole series? Those are my 2
  2. I still live by you don't "fluke" into 99 wins and only 1 playoff loss.
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 12, 2011 -> 09:23 AM) It's just something that's been very prevalent around here lately. Oh, he's not a good basketball player? Because I was more concerned with his cooking skills as opposed to his skills in the sport he plays professionally... Sorry, just a pet peeve of mine. + infinity Its soxtalk's version "first"
  4. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 12, 2011 -> 12:32 AM) I do. I find that insane, but whatever floats your boat I guess. I see us as 5gb from Detroit right now
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 12, 2011 -> 12:27 AM) Now "only" 9 1/2 GB, break up the Sox, break up the Sox. You truly, honestly, believe the Indians will be there all year?
  6. check Jepsen's bank accounts after the game for any mysterious deposits
  7. Can you imagine titles for 8 straight years? Thinking about that still gives me goosebumps
  8. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 6, 2011 -> 09:23 PM) Let me take out my calculator and explain why Paul is better I hear CP3 scored 50 in NBA Jam tonight
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 4, 2011 -> 04:55 PM) Leadership has to lead, from the FO on down. KW hasnt had the f***ing balls to do something about a team that chronically underachieves every year but one. The entire organization lacks direction IMO, and it all starts at the top, KW. I get that, but what else could he have done? Huge DH hole -> filled, massive underacheiver nobody would have predicted. Bullpen holes -> filled closer with an All-star reliever, a solid rookie from previous year, and another guy coming off a good year within the same division, and dumps 2 guys who were done. Ideally has Peavy coming back healthy to join a rotation with 4 other guys who should have been solid. The only big risk I saw KW take going into the year was Morel and maybe AJ. No way on earth you can predict your entire team will have a historically underachieving start to the season after just winning 88 games with the identical team + massive upgrades at DH and (at the start of the year) Peavy
  10. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 4, 2011 -> 04:57 PM) Personal attack after mocking the entire board. Just saying! You win the internet, collect your prize at the ticket office.
  11. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 4, 2011 -> 04:22 PM) Jenksy attacking fellow posters instead of the vastly underachieving team. That's new Milkman being a douche, thats new. I'm fine with attacking the players, its 100% on them. Having a panic attack over how we should fire everyone involved with the organization is comical to me.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) What do you suggest they do (sincere question)? My point is I don't know either....but what I don't/won't do is give myself an ulcer worrying about who in the front office we're going to fire when really, theres not a whole hell of a lot more they could do. As someone else said above, on paper this team should be solid. I don't see how you can blame the FO for literally a historic underachievment by proven players.
  13. fire everyone except the players since you can't I guess? Even though its 100% on the players? Sounds about right. there aren't enough whambulances in the world for this site
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 4, 2011 -> 07:29 AM) DAMN you Indians, finally wised up and got a legit manager and now look what has happened...the same guy Ozzie pointed out as one of the "retreads" who always keep getting recycled has been handing you your hat for the last 7 months of baseball Ozzeroo. 7 months? What in the holy f*** are you talking about? 69 wins and a ~.412 winning percentage as a manager...you think we can land him for next year!!!!???
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 3, 2011 -> 06:59 PM) Rajon Rondo is just plain bad at basketball. better than being bad at baseball i guess
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2011 -> 01:49 PM) David Kaplan Breaking News, Rose did have MRI despite reports to contrary. Grade 2 sprain to ligament on outside of ankle. Someone page ptac

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 2, 2011 -> 03:23 PM) Third point: In worshiping Bobby I also pointed out many times that I'd like to see any of our guys try to close on a daily basis. Bobby actually was pretty damn reliable. Yes last year he blew more saves than normal for him. Pick and choose? Is it too much to ask Dunn to have gotten some big hits in April and help us avoid a month of hell? I hope my Jenks comments doesn't spur some big Jenks discussion. Yes he sucks this year and has been booed by Boston fans. Yes he is fat and he's not the answer anymore. I just decided I wanted to stand up for him. People have favorite players, you know. Hahah cmon, you did not in any way shape or form point out that other people should be closing over Jenks. You were behind him 100% no matter how bad he was. I love Jenks (look at my damn username) and was probably the funnest part of games from 05-08, but he wasn't at all reliable for the last 2 years and is doing even worse now. Sticking up for players is one thing, blindly hating or loving a player based on horrible logic is another.

How do you go from worshiping a failing Bobby Jenks last year, to ripping You can't pick and choose like that, it's stupid.
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 03:14 PM) I understand how you mean this in regards to possible medical bills, but a year or two of that salary would go a very long way unless you get seriously injured. Define "very". After sky-high taxes, agent fees, and a massive health insurance plan after leaving the league, that money would last a couple years of a modest lifestyle.
  20. QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:16 PM) Classic. Semi Pro was it??? Old School
  21. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 02:45 AM) I just wanna throw this out there, but there is a rumor floating around on the Dolphins message boards that the judge might order the lockout to be lifted on Monday.. This would mean they would just play this season under last years CBA rules.. Then the owners just appeal and it goes back and forth for a century like everything else in our broken system.
