NBA Predictions - (Predictabulls Part II)
jenksycat replied to knightni's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Oct 10, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) i think thats the plan all along.. find any excuse to fire Spoelstra to get Pat Riley in that Head Coach's position. Is this the same loyalty Wade was saying the bulls didn't have? -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 12:03 AM) Because he outmanages Guillen virtually 100% of the time. Yep, he just wins. Except in the playoffs. Viva La Twins - Greatest Baseball franchise in the worrrrrrrld
-
QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 10:42 PM) Probably. They really don't like him all that much from what I've seen Yet people here bow to his alter. High high comedy
-
"This is a different Twins team" Nope, no it's not
-
THIS IS A DIFFERENT TWINS TEAM THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!! Remember how many of you said that? No it's not, same old s***, same old team. Let's remember that the next time we're all over the Twins nuts for being the greatest franchise in the history of sports.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 08:21 PM) I'm guessing it's satire and it's stupid satire at that. Nothin gets by you detective
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) Because the Bulls never have a hard road trip in their first 15 games. And because there is never a meaningful game at the end of the season

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 02:43 PM) Also, Melo trades are out of the question now, since we can't give up 2 starters (Deng/Taj, Deng/Noah) for him. The Melo move is a long term one, you survive 4 weeks without Deng/Taj if you get Melo
-
I thought tickets weren't even on sale yet?
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2010 -> 06:18 PM) Well obviously that plays in to it...but quite simply, if I'm the Nuggets and I'm sitting there looking at Deng + Noah + a late first round pick, and comparing it to AK47's expiring contract + Favors + Golden State's late-Lottery pick and I get to choose which one I take because Melo would accept either...I take the Nets offer. Wouldn't you? Yes...but why the hell would Melo? Is he dying to win 45 games next year?
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2010 -> 05:05 PM) I still don't think an offer of Deng + Noah is anywhere near as good as an offer of Favors + Kirilenko + Golden State's 1-7 protected draft pick with AK's expiring contract. It is if Melo refuses to sign there and as long as the Nugs aren't stubborn enough to just keep him if he won't go to the Nets
-
If it turns out true that we passed on Melo to keep Noah, entire front office should be fired.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 12:35 PM) Or by having a DB knock the ball out of a receivers hands for one and having a TE so afraid of a hit that he gator armed a ball he could have caught if he squared up to the ball. I dont see those as lucky at all. We were in the position not only to make a hit, but to make the pick. A WR falling down, or not running the right route is something that may be lucky if the QB threw it right to the guys, but these picks were because of contact or fear or contact, and thats all on the D. I guess if you want to talk yourself into those being "skill" INT's rather than just luck, go for it. I'll believe if they can be competitive against Greenbay, which I doubt they will be.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 10:23 AM) How did they "luck" into INT's? Dont you have to be in position, to have coverage, to rush the QB? There are alot of factors into forcing an INT. The run game may be somewhat suspect, but then again, short passes to your RB are running plays in the Martz system. Forte has been very good. We also have a ridiculous passing attack right now with emphasis on spreading the ball around to WR's TE's and RB's. The Bears are hard to defend even with swiss cheese as the O-line. You luck into an INT buy an all-pro receiver not securing a ball and by another one stupidly tipping a ball he had no change catching. I wouldn't call either of those INT's a result of our magnificent D but just random right-place right-time events. The fumble was all D/Tillman, the INTs weren't. It's like some of Cutlert's INT's last year. Would you call an INT made because an average receiver fell down or didn't know his route a masterful defensive play? I wouldn't. And that passing attack will diminish once teams realize you can rush with the Punter and still have a very high chance at a sack.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 09:59 AM) You do realize we already have like $85 million locked up with no catcher, 1B, or DH signed yet? Not to mention all the closer, bullpen spots, and reserves. And that has what to do with the draft exactly? You guys make 2-3 million seem like 20-30 million, with Beckham and Sale, I'm confident JR realizes you can't go bargain hunting in the 1st round.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 10:01 AM) I was one of them. Based on what I saw in the pre-season, this was a DREADFUL team. But I said last week that the Detroit game changed my opinion a bit They can still suck, I'm not a believer yet. The defense looks solid enough, but we still have 0 run game and 0 offensive line, which is not a good thing and not easily improved. I see a team that barely beat one of the worst teams ever week 1 and a team that lucked into 2 INT's and a horribly overrated Cowboys team.

Was Aromashadu hurt?
-
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 12:42 AM) Not that the White Sox will end up signing anybody anyways because of the insane amount of money already locked up for next season, but getting a top 15 pick would actually be advantageous so if a player who is a Type A free agent slips through the cracks, the Sox can sign him without giving up their first round pick. On top of that, losing the 2nd round pick would allot more money towards either that draft pick (though I'm not sure how much that would matter since the Sox don't go over slot anyways) or to allow the Sox to grab a few others who fall later in the draft. Huh?

woo man our redzone offense is siiiiiiiick.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 11:58 AM) I understand that Singletary came off like an idiot there, but now he can't coach because he acts like a douche to a member of the local media? Not buying it. Just as it is ignorant for Singletary to behave the way he did, do you guys really think judging a guy's coaching ability from the media clips you see is any less ignorant? People use that as a major argue point for Ozzie, i don't see anything wrong with it. And how bout dem Bears huh???? Offense looking fantastic against a real team, imagine that.
-
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) I'm pretty sure he has the highest winning percentage of near the top of the last few Bears coaches. Also, how do you expect a head coach to run a scheme he knows nothing about. If he doesn't have the players to run his scheme, that falls on his GM, not him. You knew what scheme he ran when he was hired. It was proven to work in multiple stops. And you want him to perform career suicide by saying "Yeah, I messed that up. Yeah, that too. That's my fault. Yep, my scheme sucks." Lovie is by far one of the better coaches in the league. He just doesn't have the horses. That's my outsider perspective on things. hahaha, "by far" my ass. He is god awful. Your perspective is wrong.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) Although that's certainly possible...what other part of the way he likes to play the game has Ozzie changed because of someone else's criticism? So you're suggesting what? He stopped retaliating out of the goodness of his heart and wanting peace and harmony in the league? I'm thinking the piles and piles of meaningless s*** from the dumb fans and stupid media made him change.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 03:20 PM) My inclination is to say that it was Mark's call, as Ozzie has shied away from hitting people in the last few years. I want to use a stronger term than "shied away," but I'll just say it was Mark's call and that's it. Could he have possibly done that because of the endless amount of s*** he took when he did retaliate? He's apparently just always wrong no matter what the decision these days.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 11:16 AM) Yep...and he sucks for so many other reasons as well. I can't understand how anyone can defend him and his boneheaded decisions over the years. He has actually ruined the Bears for me. I despise his game attitude, his scheme, his player evaluation and his overall disposition. The accountability on this team has been non existent. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but not as the coach of the team I have watched since birth. I want him gone so bad, but I just can't root against the Bears. This causes a bizarre Jekyll and Hyde situation on Sundays that is only resolved with copious amounts of alcohol. My liver can't take it anymore!! His attitude amplifies all his other sucky qualities by 1000. I just want to hear him say for once "yeah that was stupid on my part, I'll get that fixed" instead of his usual "pfff, silly reporter, i clearly know more about this game than you so I don't have to explain myself" attitude. His "scheme" doesn't work when you don't have the players to run it yet he refuses to accept this. Up until this year, we had a non-existent pass rush, yet he runs the D like we have an all-pro d-line and amazing secondary. We f***ing don't, adapt to it. He has single handily cost this team wins and therefore playoff appearances, and not fake-cost them games like Ozzie.
