QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) It's also frustrating because let's not forget this is someone that turned down a trade earlier in the year last season. Now, it's like he's advocating to get moved. I'm a firm believer in you can say whatever the hell you want if you can back it up. If MJ wanted to tell everyone to suck his balls, I would have to agree and drop to a knee. But when a below average pitcher thinks he's still top dog, he needs to shut the f*** up. The only thing that should ever come out of that idiot's mouth is "I apologize for being so terrible and I will not quit until I turn things around". I don't think he's done as a pitcher and didn't want to get rid of him. But f*** that now, dump his ass and I won't miss him. He lost my support and hopefully many more fans.
-
So I didn't want to start another thread on this but...... f*** you Jake Peavy. I had been defending him as being taken out of context before, but you CANNOT talk about "being moved" with a f***ing 6 ERA and 3 good starts. If you were 3-4 with a 2.5 ERA and your team wasn't getting you runs, then you can say whatever the hell you want and I'd agree. But until he becomes more than the 3rd or 4th best starter on this team, go f*** yourself. I'm done.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) Really guys? I was away from the internet and local media for about 3 days and even went a little back in the thread to see if I missed something and it's like a page of unclever slams that I made a mistake that I apologized for a few posts later? Awesome. 6 posts ripping you, not a whole page. And really, did you think you were breaking the story 3 days later on an internet forum?

QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 02:15 AM) Yeah, why not just be bad for the next 3-5 years anyways with the current roster we have.. What the hell do you think were gonna do? If the team sucks, the attendance will suck, and they will NOT spend the money it will take to put the team over.. its just not going to happen.. Did I say keep the current roster? I don't want to trade the couple of guys that are actually any f***ing good so we can get a bunch of A ballers who probably won't even make it.
-
I love that we're trading away any value we have for apparently A to AA players which everyone seems to think is the best route. I'd really look forward to having a WORSE team than this for the next 3-5 years while we sit on our hands and pray that all this "young talent" we get actually amounts to anything.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 07:17 PM) I'd like to officially add: who gives a s*** where this turdball goes? Thank you. Why do you post on a sports forum when your not a sports fan?

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:26 PM) But what if your manager and GM refuse to hold people accountable...ie: Greg Walker Again...only if your manager is also your GM. I seriously don't know what you expect Oz to say...."ey f*** greg walker he blows"..? Really? What in the hell is he supposed to say? -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:25 PM) How did he explain Omar Vizquel DHing with Teahen playing 3B? I know Ozzie's english isn't the greatest, but I don't know how he could possibly make that make sense. Again, did that cost us the game? Was that the difference? Or could it have been the 5 guys in the lineup batting .170 and the pitching staff made up of 3 solid pitchers? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:19 PM) Well, when you're on your way to 3 years out of 4 with a mediocre to awful team, then I guess your manager is horrible. The same philosophy you mentioned above is true with every team in every league. Or its just that the manager just doesn't really f***ing matter all that much in baseball and I'll stick with the guy with the ring over another guy if its all the same. Or maybe if your manager is also your GM. I said it earlier, Ozzie needs to manage and KW needs to put the team together. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:13 PM) Should Ozzie have a lifetime contract because of 2005? Thats not my point. My point is how stupid the argument is in the first place: when the team is good, the manager is awesome; when the team is s***, the manager is horrible. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:07 PM) Ozzie is a terrible in game manager. It's seen almost on a nightly basis similar to what has gone on tonight. KW should go first if I had to pick an order, but they both should go. I love that argument. Ozzie cost us this season, clearly not the fact that 7/9 hitters were Goes back to the same old argument: he wins a WS, but he didn't really do all that much. He has a s*** team and its all his fault. 0% logic -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:00 PM) I'm pretty shocked at how bad our pitching is. I'm surprised people aren't calling for the head of Don Cooper yet. Yet Ozzie HAS to go because he made Beckham, AJ, Q, Alexei, Teahan, and Pierre suck ass for 2 months. Logic is missing here at times, the only thing that needs to change is KW has to build the team, not Ozzie. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:50 PM) If you guys don't think Putz gave up a big hit there, what can I tell you? We disagree. He's not fat enough to be criticized. I haven't been all that impressed as everyone else seems to be. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:21 PM) Wouldn't it be more like 20 mil we'd save if we trade him in the next month? 1) I don't want to see him traded period, one of the only players I feel like that about. 2) I don't believe if we trim 20 mil we'd spend 20 mil. Be more like trim 20, spend 5-8 -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:12 PM) Well if the payroll is only going to be a certain amount, then I'd rather it be spread out a little better instead of having an expensive pitching staff with 2 guys showing huge signs of decline. I'll keep Buehrle rather than save 10mil and "gamble" on a couple -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:03 PM) You have no idea about the philosophy of clearing up money by unloading bad contracts. And you have far too much faith that the 10+mil saved will be free to spend and not just shrink the payroll -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 12:03 PM) I think your tin foil hat is on a little too tight. Sure, there has been, but to assume or even bring it up for any random case is pointless. Also with the amount of voice/video recording nowadays, its not worth the risk to "wink wink" with people.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 11:32 AM) Ha, I love it when people say that. Like he didn't have a choice to play overseas for a year or in the NBDL. Instead his pimp got paid, he got fake grades, and tons of exposure at a major program. Pretty typical of a Calipari top recruit. Back when he did it, there was no precedent for going overseas, so you can't really claim that as an option. Not to mention the fact that these guys are for the most part, astonishingly dumb, he just happened to get caught. I don't believe for 1 second that the majority of the guys in big colleges deserve to be there academically. The system is broke and these are the consequences of it unfortunately, still doesn't change the fact that he should have been allowed to play in the NBA at 18 instead of 19

He did give up a hit which, if it was Jenks, would have produced 1500 "get that fat f*** out of the game" posts by people.
