  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 09:22 PM) I don't get how somebody can point to the schedule and say the Bears are fine. The Packers and Vikings, who are both better teams than the Bears, are playing basically the same schedule. If you aren't concerned about the Bears right now, than you're guilty of what we make fun of Cubs fans for having so much, which is blind optimism. Yeah it's only one loss last week, but this is the NFL and you only play 16 games, so every game is vital. Its not that simple, I don't have blind optimism, but I don't have blind "oh my god the season is over" like everyone else seems to have. All I saw in that game was a team that was coached and played so poorly, yet still should have won easily. We lost by 6 points...Clark lost us 7 guaranteed points and Turner's piss poor excuse for an offense lost us 4 extra points in the redzone. I saw a team with 2 legit WR and a decent RB barely win with 4 f***ing INT's and a gift ball given in their own redzone.
  2. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 12:04 PM) JD...seriously no one remembers closers unless their names are Smith, Gossage, Rivera, or Hoffman If you can't remember the name Jenks, you'd be one sad sad sad sad excuse for a Sox fan
  3. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 03:39 PM) You think that secondary's gonna be able to hold Atlanta & Arizona eh? I love Bears fans sometimes. We held the greatest offense in the history of preseason football last week didn't we? Thats the thing with having an offense (which we will) we don't need to shut down teams to beat them And you "love Bears fans sometimes hur hur hur", you should since more then half of them think the season is over already.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 03:10 PM) Mind you half of Bears fans are also Cubs fans. But even then, Cubs fans still blindly think they're perennial s***ty baseball team is "going all the way" and don't give up till the very end....but 2 games for the bears and its over. And then you got all the "experts" claiming that the bears are in massive trouble, that Cutler is horrible and we should get Orton back, etc. Then 5 minutes later say "well the Pats/Chargers were just a little bit rusty, they'll be fine." Really? So the Pats and Chargers, who have been playing together for the last 4 years, were rusty....but the Bears, who have been playing together for 4 months should be clicking on all cylinders? What the f***? Am I watching different games or something? "Cutler SHOULD have had 7 interceptions Troy, he was just plain terrible" No mention of his receivers hanging him out to dry or the absolute s*** play-calling in the redzone though. No mention of JC coming out in the second half and marching down the field easily after a horrific first half that would have destroyed most other QB's and STILL being in a position to win that game after spotting them 7 points due to Des Clark. Idiots, and the dumb fans here lap that s*** up like its gospel. The experts are just like everybody else for f*** sake, they don't know what the hell they're talking about half the time just like every other fan.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 02:36 PM) Did you just move to chicago? no I just don't get it....acting like that is = to screaming "I am a giant idiot who doesn't know anything about sports"
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 10:35 AM) I can't speak for others, but my feeling is that in a little over two weeks, the Bears are going to be 0-3 and toast. Have you not seen the schedule after these 3 games? Its possible to win 6 in a row after Seattle. Another win against Det, split GB and Minn. 10 wins should be doable. God what is with the f***ing fans here, we're gonna boo our franchise QB on his first incompletion Sunday and give up on the season after 2 weeks. I love it Det Atl Cin Cle Ari Sf Phi Min Stl
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 12:09 AM) Bobby will be gone and aside from Thornton and Pena this is going to be a brand new pen. I'm interested in seeing what Kenny has planned. If that happens, I really can't wait for the '10 pen to be worse than the '07, gonna be incredible to have the best rotation in all of baseball and a s*** pen that blows every other game.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 07:47 PM) IIRC, a "too many men" penalty is just a 5 yard penalty. Even if they would've gotten the call, it would've been 4th and 6. IMO, you don't take the chance unless your 100% sure or if your at the 50 beyond, not on your own 30. EDIT- STRANGESOX BEAT ME TO THAT ONE. No it does work because you either: get the first down or get the penalty and punt away.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:59 PM) That wasn't all Cutler. 1st pass - Bennett got held and didn't get to the spot 2nd pass - Bennett ran the wrong route and Cutler threw to where he was supposed to be 3rd pass - bad throw woah woah, don't use logic here. This loss was clearly all on Rex Cutler
  10. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:53 PM) the fake punt was a game changer. The game changer was the 11 extra points we should have had EASY if Clark isn't an idiot and Turner doesn't suck at play calling
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:51 PM) I find it funny that Devin Hester was good and didn't drop passes, but Cutler made so many poor decisions, it's hard to express in words. Oh how things can change... yeah what a bastard...why did he tell Des/Knox to stop running routes? WHYYYYY
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:15 PM) If he throws it a few yards further, that is a Bennett TD. yep, all i saw
  13. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 08:46 PM) I thought Grossman was released. mmmm very original. Can't wait to hear that about 134964839234956 times this week
  14. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 09:50 PM) Hey that's nice, but the Sox were competing when they acquired him and are now (mathematically) still in it. Rios can either show up and play or go f*** himself on the bench. yep, Rios was definitely the downfall of this team. He single handily made JD hit .090 for 2 months, the bullpen implode, and Beckham, PK, Q slump. Cut that bastard, I say
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 09:44 PM) It's weird how it's OK to pounce on some players (Wise) and not OK to pounce on others (Rios). I would never boo Rios from the stands BTW. I don't boo players. But he deserves some venom on here. maybe because Rios has an actual track record and isn't a career .200 hitter? Jesus
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 10:06 PM) This is exactly what Wilbon said on PTI today. yeah...but I added the 150pts part
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 02:34 PM) There's a high "complete collapse" potential there, but if Iverson has any motivation behind him to try to revive his career and maybe HOF hopes... Zach Randolph Rudy Gay Marc Gasol/Hasheem Thabeet Allen Iverson/Mike Conley OJ Mayo That's a pretty darn solid front 7 rotation with some non-terrible bench guys behind them. In the East I'd bet that's a playoff team on paper. Is that the lineup for the next And1 mixtape? They're gonna give up 150 pts a game

  19. QUOTE (Reddy @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 03:08 PM) the whole idea that you believe we HAVE a chance just tickles me. But i envy your un-jaded sense of hope. I'd hate to have the outlook you do. There is no point in even watching sports if you go in with that mindset.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) Last year Rios was pretty rough in the first half and pretty darn good in the 2nd half. I wonder if changing teams and not playing every day might have kept him from finding a groove, mentally at least. ding ding ding ding ding although if you read threads here, you'd think he was the worst player in the MLB and KW got murdered on "trade" for him.
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) we've also only given up 4 runs in the 3 wins and 0 so far today. pffftt, that has NOTHING to do with it. Its clearly because we don't have that clutch-less Thome cloggin up are basepaths!!@!!111!!!!!
  22. QUOTE (jamesdiego @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 03:46 PM) Sure, my "exact logic", that you just pulled out of your ass. I didn't say I wanted these "World Series heroes" to take Jim's place, I said he wasn't a fit on our team. With his high strikeout rate per at bat, and his continued non-ablility to come through in the clutch(besides of sourse 163), it's time for a change. Also I'm a big believer in just changing things up when they don't go your way. Different personalities in the clubhouse, different mindset, whatever. really glad you're not our GM then
  23. Stone said "Quentin is not running well with that foot injury" so.....yeah....
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 01:13 AM) Why are people so sensitive getting mad at those of us who think Rios is a dog? This team acquired him to help now and he's failed miserably. Same with Pena. He hasn't helped a lick. Because of the 10,345 posts made about how this will be the end of the Sox as a franchise, KW is horrible, blah blah blah. Rios has been timid (my money on JD making it a weird clubhouse) and will be fine once he's set as our CF and isn't being benched over Wise. The Sox have also been known to "fix" pitchers from other organizations. But seriously, stop f***ing watching. Its clearly causing massive whining and depression. Just turn it off for the season, mmk?
