  1. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 01:35 PM) I was just watching Jalen Rose and Digger Phelps on ESPN talking about U of I/Minnesota/Iowa and they're fairly clueless. Their main point was that you shouldn't be in the tournament if you are under .500 in conference Yeah, that's just cliche spouting and pretty lazy "analysis" in light of the strength of this particular conference.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 10, 2013 -> 01:10 AM) Has anyone seen KILLER JOE? That movie is pretty much insane. There's a good reason for the NC-17 rating. Gina Gershon has some guts to do that scene with Matthew McConaughey. Emile Hirsch was good too, along with Thomas Hayden Church....whose career hasn't really taken off after the success of Sideways with Giamatti. Yeah, over the years, William Friedkin has directed some pretty intense movies and he was on his game with this one.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 10:56 AM) You have to remember this is the same player who admitted he intentionally tripped Kobe back when he was on the Nuggets. That one was blatant and obvious. I'll cut Kobe slack for no doubt factoring that in when he made his comments, but last night just looks to me like a basketball play. Like I said, though, I'm too anti-Kobe to really be objective.
  4. So Kobe's hurt and whining like a b**** about a dirty play. I'm not sure I see that, but I can't really be impartial when it comes to Kobe. Jones definitely steps into and fouls him, but I don't think you can infer intent to injure from that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihq0xxIlkaU...eature=youtu.be I'll bet Dwight Howard will have some interesting tips for Kobe about sucking it up and playing through pain.
  5. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 10:12 AM) I'm not sure Eifert falls that far. I'd like to see him fall to the Packers. Giants just lost their TE and draft 19th, right ahead of the Bears. I doubt he lasts to 20, but Bears still have too many bigger needs to draft for luxury. You never know how "best player available" winds up effecting things, but all things being equal, I want another OL or LB.
  6. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 12, 2013 -> 03:02 PM) @nfldraftscout Can confirm: Chicago #Bears will be signing TE Martellus Bennett tonight. Martellus Bennett ‏@JoeGryffindor I'm proud to say I'll be joining my other brother @bmarshall next season. #BEARDOWN

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 12, 2013 -> 12:59 PM) Any tv show like that is going to require quite a bit of suspended belief. High profile mass murders who commit high profile crimes, generally dont escape long. That being said, I actually enjoy it. But no part of me believes that this could really happen. I think they would have been better served doing it as a mini-series. It started out really strong, but has become more and more ridiculous as they've had to stretch fill a full season. And Killer Joe's overly-mannered, sing-songy voice has started to become real f***ing annoying.

"The Following" has really jumped the shark, although Kevin Bacon tosses out a few good one-liners each week.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 8, 2013 -> 10:44 AM) How the Blackhawks Became Unbeatable A cool WSJ article breaking down the Hawks' approach Yeah, I saw that, too. And then there's this: http://www.theheckler.com/2013/03/05/black...asketball-game/
  10. So far, Minnesota is getting an almost Philadelphia Eagles-like return on their huge offseason investments, which I found both interesting and hilarious. There's a lot of talent on that team for them to be so meh.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 5, 2013 -> 11:47 AM) TE Jared Cook Expected to Draw Interest from Bears Very intriguing. Is there room for a guy who was almost franchised under the Bears cap?
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 5, 2013 -> 12:13 PM) Well, Mandarin is Starks major villain. And this kicks off Marvel Phase 2 leading up to Avengers 2, lots of things are supposed to be happening in this one. Specifically Stark getting injected with the extremis nanotechnology Yeah, Super Heroes fight Super Villains. I thought it looked cool.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 4, 2013 -> 10:13 AM) Totally late to the party, but the wifey and I watched Argo this weekend. I didn't see any of the other Oscar nominated movies, but I'm a little surprised that it won best picture given what I've heard about all of the other movies. It was GOOD, but I didn't think it was anything special. And then reading up on it afterwards I found out that 90% of the movie was made up (pretty much every scene intended to ratchet up the intensity except for the taking of the embassy in the beginning). I kind of agree; it was good, not great, but I give Ben Affleck credit for building and maintaining suspense even though the ending was never in doubt. I heard differently regarding its accuracy, and that only the final runway scenes were enhanced. I think even Jimmy Carter said as much.
  14. "End of Watch" was really good, but extended use of hand-held cameras is a gimmick that's run its course.
  15. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Mar 4, 2013 -> 08:57 AM) Absolutely, but a streak like this is a good sign. They are handling the pressure really well, and I can't see any teams looking forward to playing them in the playoffs. Well, it can be easy to overlook teams in the East, especially this year. Assuming they get that far, Boston and Pitt aren't going to back down from anyone. Based on recent history, I don't think Edmonton in the West will be intimidated, either. What's even more crazy though is that the Hawks haven't lost a "hockey game" yet. All of their OT losses have come in shootouts.
  16. As of today, actress Bonnie Franklin is no longer living "One Day at a Time." http://www.cnn.com/2013/03/01/showbiz/obit....html?hpt=hp_t3
  17. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 10:27 AM) Damaso Marte set up my favorite playoff moment. "'Hocus Pocus' says Hernandez!"
  18. Holy Hot Tub Time Machine! http://www.buzzfeed.com/danoshinsky/meet-t...ketball-jerseys Truly, truly awful.
  19. I love the WC/3rd Sweater, but every one I've seen for sale in a store has a heat-transferred "crossed tomahawks through the C" shoulder logo, instead of an embroidered patch. Is that just how they are? I hate that.
