  1. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 09:22 AM) Unless duplicates are posted, it looks like this is going to be a SLOOOOOOOW day for white sox photos. First number the team ever retired. Nobody's worn #4 for over 35 years.
  2. Interesting SI article on the KC farm system: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writ....html?eref=sihp
  3. Hossa gets a pass from me up to this point, having played all the way through the Finals in each of the last 3 years, plus in the Olympics. He has to keep it going from here in though.
  4. Dusty Baker on some of the crap he dealt with as Cubs Manager: http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22297882/27609378
  5. "Steve McCatty?" Jake f***in Peavy is no Steve McCatty.
  6. Our boy threw a 40 pitch BP session today and said he felt at about 75%. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2011/...g-practice.html
  7. Kaner's SO goal was sick. CC coming so far out of the net on SO attempts makes me real nervous, but I like how it shows no fear.
  8. WHAT'S IN THE f***ING BOXXXXXX?????!!!!??????
  9. I luuvv Joe Crede. Realistically, I'm not sure he ever lived up to all the hype, but for approximately full one season--late 2005 to mid 2006--he was one of the best all around 3rd basemen in the game. Could have been WS co-MVP. All the best, Joe.
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 05:40 PM) Suicide. Even more shocking. I'd read he'd had marital and financial troubles over the years, but he seemed like someone with a lot of friends, and, as an ND alum and former trustee, to have perhaps been a person of faith. Despair and depression are terrible things.
  11. Wittels went hitless last night. Robin Ventura's hitting streak record stands.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 07:18 AM) How the F*** did Thome hit that? And when the f*** is it going to land?
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 18, 2011 -> 04:34 PM) Whether he's a huge roided up lineman or not...he was a football player. That's kind of the point of the safety issues the NFL keeps bringing up. Playing football normally is an activity that can significantly shorten one's life. No doubt, but anyway you slice it, 50 is still young, and beneath even the shortened average life expectancy of an NFL player. Plus, he looked in fine health at the Super Bowl reunion just a few months back. That makes it shocking to me.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 18, 2011 -> 12:18 PM) A former NFL player in their 50's? Honestly, it shouldn't be shocking any more. He just turned 50 in November, and its not like he was some huge, roided up lineman. Besides, when you're about to turn 46, you're allowed to be shocked by a sudden death in that range.
  15. Dave Duerson. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/news/story?id=6135463 That's pretty shocking.
  16. I just bought a Jose Contreras autographed 2005WS ball for $20 at Steiner Sports. I think the ball alone is worth about $10. That and some other cool Sox stuff are on clearance. http://www.steinersports.com/ssm/control/c...filterCats=3098
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 18, 2011 -> 12:01 AM) His face looks extremely fat, but that picture doesn't make his body look much fatter than I remember him. In fact, he doesn't look quite as big as I recall. He's gone up to at least a D cup, and that makes his waist appear relatively slimmer.
