IIRC, it was on Thanksgiving Day a few years ago when it was announced that we signed Scott Linebrink. The "turkey" jokes almost write themselves.

I switched off a lame Bulls game to watch a lame 'Hawks game and fell asleep (continuing the pattern of lameness). What a surprise to read about the 2OT comeback this am. That's impressive.

It would have been less disruptive if they just went out there tonight and repainted the field; i.e. lined it with 2 3/4' yards or something like that to create more room. At least there's some precedent for that, in that the Bears once had to play an NFL championship game indoors at old Chicago Stadium. I can't imagine they fit a regulation field in that place. I don't disagree with putting safety first, but this "solution" screws half the ticket holders and is going to lengthen the game. -

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 10:54 AM) Well, this was a rather embarrassing failure. I'll say. Like most things associated with the f***ing Cubs. I thought they "studied" this in advance? WTF. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 09:37 AM) I don't get the outrage. I'm certainly not outraged, but I like the sock logo, and think this change was needless and dumb.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 14, 2010 -> 12:02 PM) What? Wisconsin was still trying to score when there was a FULL HALF to be played and you are saying thats running up the score? Im sorry but you dont shut down your team with 30 minutes of game to be played, that is ridiculous. Not only that, but if they were running up the score the final drive you posted wouldnt have taken 4:30 minutes on 8 plays. That is an average of half a minute per play, meaning that they were letting the clock run down every single time and keeping the clock moving. I can see if Wisconsin was airing it out in the fourth quarter under 10 minutes, but come on, there was a full half. C'mon. There's a big difference between "taking a knee", "not trying to score," "shutting down your team" and passing on first down with that huge lead and the other teams' star quarteback out of the game. They way they were running the ball, they could both scored and advanced the clock. With Chappel out, the game was over. I can't imagine that a Barry Alvarez coached team would call first-down passes in that situation. He is far too classy for that. And I'm sorry, but I just can't give BB the benefit of the doubt after what he recently did to Minnesota. Sure looks like a developing patten to me. -

QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 11:14 AM) But isn't there sort of an informal rule that once a team adopts a song, it's forever linked to them? Think of the Pirates back in the 70s with "We Are Family." Or the Hawks with "Chelsea Dagger." Guess not. Unless it really unique or lame--think "Hang On Sloopy" at OSU (sorry, Rock)--I think mimicry is more the norm now. At one time, virtually every single NBA franchise played Gary Glitter's "Rock and Roll Part 2," and I hear Darth Vader's theme from "Star Wars" played in dozens of college football stadiums.

Uribe stepping in for Crede at 3rd in 2008 was, imo, the key to our winning the division that year. He could be maddening at the plate sometime, but he was one of KW's real steals (for Aaron Miles). His late-inning D in WSG4 was absolutely astounding, and as has been said many times before, if Jeter had made those 3-4 plays, school children would be singing songs about them. PROFUNDO!

Given that he's running as the more fiscally responsible candidate, that's not good.

Of possible interest for James Bond fans: http://money.cnn.com/2010/10/27/autos/bond..._sale/index.htm I still have a toy replica of this car, it was one of my favorites as a kid, although I'd always lose the tiny bad guy who flew out the roof via the ejector seat.
