  1. HeinieBird's been charge with 7 misdemeanors. His lawyer says the allegations are "inaccurate and sensationalized." How perfectly ironic. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...ic-battery.html
  2. I felt proud of my team and its manager last night.
  3. There should a combo option: married and dating
  4. QUOTE (SnB @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 08:22 AM) I just discovered The Dawes. Holy crap, this song is musical perfection. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=...T5Q&cad=rja I thought that was great and appreciate your sharing it.
  5. Whatever's the f***ing cheapest. Made it to 105K miles that way, so why stop now?
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 12:03 AM) Prove Balta wrong. Mandatory post. GO YOU WHITE SOX
  7. Congrats to all! CoC, I like that name, but have never heard it before. Any special significance to it?
  8. I remember reading about Edwin Jackson when he was an untouchable, can't miss prospect in the Dodger system. It looks like that guy has finally made the big leagues, and he pitches for the Chicago White Sox.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 07:58 AM) Proveth me wrong, Edwin. There it is. (I was looking for it, and got it).
  10. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 07:40 AM) @cst_sox - The X-ray tech here originally told Beckham his hand was broke. He was wrong. Beckham not happy with it. "The guy actually came out of the x-ray room saying it’s broken. I’m like, ‘How is that possible?’ '' Beckham. "Then he said, ‘No it’s not.’ Are you kidding me? That’s Rookie League.’’ Beckham. Obviously all the good X-ray techs in Cleveland have also taken their talents to South Beach. Good one. I thought he'd be ok when they showed the replay and based on what Hermie was doing right away, but everyone in the game thread had me convinced I was just in the "denial" stage of coping with loss. I was in full "acceptance" mode when the good word came.
  11. Did anybody here go to last year's "Training Camp Festival" that the Hawks are repeating on 9/18? The Hawks website has the time of the event as 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., but no specific schedule up as yet. Anyone know how they work it, and when they let you in the UC to see practice?
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 04:18 PM) It's somewhere between being a generally self-centered asshole and murdering 6 million people and starting wars of conquest and being one of the most reviled figures in human history. Not sure where exactly, though. This whole Manny v. Hitler commentary is ridiculous. They didn't even have fertility drugs back in Hitler's day. On the other hand, I have heard that the Fuehrer once left a deuce to ripen in the middle of his bunker.
  13. It was great that JD showed. I thought that showed a lot of class, considering they only played together briefly. It was great to give him a big ovation too.
  14. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:20 PM) I kind of did as well. Hawk just got done saying the Yankees have 3 2-run homers, and I was thinking, more hoping, now the Sox have 2 2-run homers. I was thinking Paulie, Jones and Castro are going to have big nights. So far, 2 for 3.
  15. I called that (to myself). Btw, we're winning this game.
  16. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:04 PM) The MILF over the Sox dugout is the only good thing I've seen all game. Now its Paulie.
  17. The MILF over the Sox dugout is the only good thing I've seen all game.
  18. Where have you gone, Carlos Quentin? Soxtalk turns its lonely eyes to you. Boo-hoo-hoo.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:54 AM) Have you noticed how badly Fuentes has pitched this year? He's not worth the money he will be making...besides the fact that he seems to blame the fans in LA for his failures (see article at yahoo sports) Yeah, I've heard about how bad he's been this year (don't get a chance to watch West Coast teams that often), but I checked his line before posting, and it sure looked like something that could help us in our current state, IF the Angels called our block--and it looks like they held out to get something in trade from the Twins, so in hindsight the block might have worked. It's just frustrating how it seems some players aren't good enough to play for the White Sox. but yet get acquired by the team ahead of them that they can never beat.
  20. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 06:43 PM) *head explodes* http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/08/twin...an-fuentes.html I'm surprised this thread doesn't have more comments. This is something we could have blocked, and with Thornton down, he could have helped us if the block backfired. Right now, bullpen is an even greater need than DH. WTF?
  21. Winning is better. Let's keep it goin' GO YOU WHITE SOX!
  22. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 03:19 PM) Was there as well. I remember saying to one of my buddies(might have been someone from here) "you can't give Manny Ramirez an extra swing," and boom. Exactly the same thing here. You knew that ball was gone immediately from the sound, and it cleared the fence in a heartbeat.
