  1. Myers talks about it (a little) here: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/pl...nterstitialskip
  2. I hope KW brings the presents.
  3. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:13 AM) If they got LaRoche in the deal as well, it would make sense (for this year). Otherwise, I agree that it's either misdirection or part of another move. I agree, and think we end up with both. If not, it better be part of moves, plural. I don't want Carlos Torres pitching down the stretch.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 12:30 AM) The wave does indeed suck. You know what else sucks? All the $60 "authentics" that people now have. First it was football, then hockey, now their invading baseball stadiums nationally. Disgusting. Just buy the replica for $100. I detest the wave, too, but this seems a bit snobby. Why let what other people wear (or can afford) bother you?
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 09:13 PM) Juan didn't seem to go after that ball very well. Not at all.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) Capps has no cheap option for next year. This deal sucks for the Twins. It wasn't their biggest need and they probably just gave away their best trade chip that they were willing to move. Yes it does, big picture-wise. But for this season, they're better today than they were yesterday. Capps is solid and will help them.
  7. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) More Buster Olney: Heard this: The White Sox are saying internally that they are currently out of the mix on Dunn That doesn't mean anything.
  8. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 12:51 PM) For some reason, when i typed White Sox Sweep into google images this is the first image that came up..... So let's get that sweep White Sox!??????? Isn't that Friday night?
  9. Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of his, but for the last two months of a pennant race, I think he'd be a much safer bet than Hudson, even in our park and back in the AL.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 09:00 AM) It would be totally ridiculous to go out and acquire a pitcher like Lilly based on whatever Hudson does tomorrow. I dunno. Getting lit up twice in one week by the light hitting A's would not bode well for a pennant drive.
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 08:50 AM) We might get him regardless if we land a big bat. This could be plan B if Hudson bombs tomorrow. You're right. I guess I'm hearing Hudson mentioned so often as trade bait, I'm figuring he's good as gone. If he doesn't end up going for a bat, maybe we could play the match up game with him and Lilly in the fifth spot, and try to start Lilly more often on the road?
  12. Kenny has always liked him, and as we have seen before, Kenny seems to have a fixation with landing guys he likes eventually. That said, I too think this this only happens if we move Hudson.
  13. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 08:29 PM) lol against the mariners here at the cell, Rios i believe? or Jones? That Jones 2 homer game on his birthday? That was awhile ago.
  14. When was the last time we won on a walkoff? I'm feelin' one.
  15. Pitino testified that he had sex with the woman "very briefly." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/bask....html?eref=sihp For some reason, I find that amusing.
  16. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 11:20 PM) Looks like a three-way deal is possibly in the works. Hudson and fillers to Arizona. Dunn to the White Sox Jackson to Washington If we have to give up a starter to get Dunn, and AZ is willing to give up Jackson for Hudson and fillers, we might as well sweeten the pot for the D'backs, keep Jackson for ourselves, and take LaRoche too. He's not the bat Dunn is, but that would improve our offense without creating a hole in the rotation.
  17. QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) Hitting .391 is way too high to be a Piranha... You gotta be hitting about .240 or below and hit about .391 against the Sox only....
  18. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 04:51 PM) Franklin Gutierrez was scratched from Tuesday's lineup in order to attend to a family matter. I hope for his and his family's sake that everything's alright, but that sounds like he could miss more than just tonight. I imagine its hard to attend to family matters from Chicago.
  19. QUOTE (hitlesswonder @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 04:31 PM) I don't know...Hudson is not a highly regarded prospect outside the Sox system. You would think they'd be confident replacing him with a cheap vet next season. The only thing that might give KW pause is this season, but they could either go with Torres or trade Santos for some marginal vet (like Lopez on AZ) to finish this season. I think it has to be a vet because he has to eat innings, even if he's getting hit early and often. You can't leave rookies in situations like that.
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 03:20 PM) Cant trade Hudson unless you are going to get a serviceable starter in return. If Peavy was healthy Hudson would be expendable, but that is not the case. I agree. Somebody has to take the ball every fifth day who has a decent chance of at least lasting 5 innnings. Its bad enough to go into a fifth starter's games with little chance to win, but you can't end up burning the bullpen in those games too.
  21. Apparently last week, Rizzo wanted Garza from the Rays for Dunn. http://danny-knobler.blogs.cbssports.com/m...ntryListMiniCnt
  22. http://www.mentalfloss.com/quiz/quiz.php?q=1031&p=1 I only got 9 out of 12 right and am deeply ashamed.
  23. B&B were talking about Fuku earlier today, independent (I think) of this Rosenthal report. He's been a bust for the money, but I think you need to seriously consider him if the Cubs are going to eat the cash. He'd be a solid replacement for Kotsay, and probably wouldn't see that much lefty pitching.
