  1. It's amazing how poor the reading comprehension is in this thread. For those that may have missed it.
  2. It's an antiquated technology that is impacted by things like wind, weather, and geographical location... If you want to record games, you're looking at spending around $150. If you want to be able to pause, rewind, etc., you're looking at $200. Every option is a better option in 2024. This is just absolutely mind blowing. There's a reason technology moved away from broadcasting from antennas.
  3. Nobody is mad about giving the games away for free. People are mad about the LACK OF OPTIONS for viewing their teams.
  4. You do realize that absolutely nothing has changed in this regard, right? Rabbit ears sucked because radio wave broadcasts are unreliable. Period. That's why your picture was grainy. It had nothing to do with the television (a tuner is a tuner, it's all about the signal strength...). They are still using the same technology for transmission(radio waves). If your signal isn't good enough now, you won't get a grainy picture(that's an analog TV thing). You just won't get a picture at all or it will freeze (digital TV). And actually, today, broadcast signals are limited in strength more than they were back in the day... It's amazing to me people don't understand this. Look at the rabbitears link posted a couple pages back. Look at all the areas with yellow/red that are within the range of the broadcast antenna... Know why they can't get a good signal? Things like elevation....trees....buildings.... All of these block radio waves. lol
  5. You believe it will get done. Good for you. I do not share that opinion. I don't trust Reinsdorf or his lackeys to do anything correctly. If they can f*** it up, they probably will. Have we learned nothing from being White Sox fans? I wouldn't be shocked if halfway through the Bulls and Blackhawks season, DirecTV and OTA are still the only options to tune in. Jason Coyle seems to have NO answers whatsoever about carriage agreements beyond that.
  6. They keep talking about the "cut the cord" customers, and those are the customers they have alienated the most as of now. It's honestly amazing. They seem to have zero awareness that people that "cut the cord" are.....streaming over the internet. Not watching on a god damn antenna. If you have YouTube TV, there's zero reason whatsoever to have an antenna.
  7. Reinsdorf only had a 50% stake in the last network. Who really gives a s%*# about the programming outside of the games and game related materials? lol. Do people tune into Marquee outside of watching Cubs pregame, games, and postgame? Quite literally nobody gives a f*** about the non-sports broadcasting on a regional sports network. You're missing the fact that the only way to watch the Bulls and Blackhawks as of right now is to be a DirecTV customer, or watch on a fucking antenna... And that doesn't seem like it's going to be changing anytime soon. They are alienating a massive segment of their viewing population.
  8. Faith that the network won't be a total disaster. You know the word can be used outside of a religious connotation, right? Reinsdorf is running CHSN. It's going to fucking suck, and everyone is going to say "I told you so."
  9. Right. It's just more Reinsdorf nepotism. There's no reason to have any faith at all in CHSN.
  10. I guess I just don't care because I only watch it for the pre/post game and the sports. And I have no complaints in that regard.
  11. Not for Bears coverage, it doesn't. Marquee was a huge downgrade. I'm really not looking forward to the CHSN broadcast. The commentators will be heavily policed, and they will do nothing but parrot the company line. Especially when it comes to Bulls and White Sox coverage.
  12. I was referring to the poster above me that mentioned an outdoor antenna. And if you look at the link he posted, there's a whole bunch of suburbs where indoor reception will be "hard". It's like people don't remember how much rabbit ears fucking sucked. It's a downgrade in every aspect.
  13. Also, asking your customers to jump through an additional hoop to watch your teams is an absolutely terrible business decision. The fact that people can watch the teams for free OTA with an antenna is great. What's not great is alienating the rest of your customer base that consumes their sports through the internet...
  14. The reality is, most people aren't going to buy and hookup an antenna to watch these three shitty teams. I'm a big sports fan, and there's zero chance I'm doing it. It's 2024. Broadcasting comes over the internet, not through a fucking radio signal. Losing the ability to pause, rewind, and record a game without spending a ton of money on an OTA DVR, is a deal-breaker. Having to have an antenna on every TV I might want to watch a game on, is a deal-breaker. Not being able to watch on my computer in my office, is a deal breaker. I'm not even considering it. I will just not watch them, like a WHOLE BUNCH of people I know. We are talking about putting a fucking antenna on a roof to watch sports teams, in 2024? LMAO. What a fucking joke. For anyone looking for some reassurance about being able to watch the Bulls/Hawks in October without DirecTV or an antenna? This sure as hell isn't going to help: Do you know why CHSN is going to fail? Because the guy running it is just another Reinsdorf asshole made President because he's buddies with Brooks Boyer and JR.
  15. First time I've turned them on in ages. Assuming they lose, probably the last time for the foreseeable future.
  16. Speak for yourself. I'm just here to watch the wreckage burn, at this point. I am only watching tonight hoping they break the record. f*** this team and their scumbag loser of an owner.
  17. Honestly, nothing surprises me anymore. It's going to take a new owner and a complete house cleaning before this team has my Fandom again. I know I'm not alone in this. The damage they have done in the last few seasons, that started with hiring TLR, and culminated with not one, but two signings of that scumbag Clevinger, is catastrophic and unrecoverable. Until JR dies and every last one of his sycophants is gone, I'm going to actively root against this team. I hope they're just as bad next season. This franchise is dead, and there's one piece of s%*# to blame for all of it. Every single problem comes back to him, and TLR.
  18. This forum absolutely needs a WTF reaction. Someone please make it happen.
  19. The cognitive dissonance that you olds possess is truly insane. It's amazing how it extends to all aspects of your lives.
  20. No issues with Moncada sitting, but if he's sitting, it should be Ramos at third. If Ramos isn't playing third, I sure as hell don't want Vargas there, and would rather have Moncada. This organization is just clueless.
