Actually, it's very easy to see what's going on with in-game decisions. Baseball is a very transparent, cut and dry sport. Analytics has taken most of the "gut feeling" decisions out of the mix. The correct decision at any point is apparent to most people that are paying attention and have access to the internet. And yet.... There's a reason managers don't get a lot of credit in baseball. They don't have much of an impact on wins. Their good decisions are more or less common sense. Their bad decisions are very easily exposed, and have a big impact on the game. Baseball is very much a numbers game now, and if you're making decisions that are counterintuitive to the numbers, you're doing it wrong.

The fact that the Sox are one of the worst shifting teams in the major league? The fact that they lead the majors in sacrifice bunts? There aren't a lot of things a manager can impact during a game. The things he can impact, he is having a negative impact on. And there's no debating that. He's been a bad manager to this point in the season. With some glaringly bad mistakes.

Radar looks good right now. I think the game gets in.
-
I think this was always a bogus argument. More spin on the ball equals more movement and more velocity. Which equals less control. And that's what we are seeing.
-
So you don't have an answer? I'm discussing his strengths and weaknesses. He's doing nothing well, and I haven't seen a single one of his supporters cite anything but "he's a hall of fame baseball person".
-
I mean, multiple times he has left his starter in too long.... It's really not all that difficult to know when to pull a starter. Especially when they are over 100 pitches. He does nothing well. He's a fucking caricature, who routinely gets in the way of the team's success. Sox would be better if he just napped all game.

Why not just make the rosin bag the only acceptable substance and be done with it? Seems simple enough to me.
-
What has he done well? Manage the starters? Not really. Even though they've been great. Manage the bullpen? No. Shifts? Absolutely not. Lineups? Uh, no. Pinch hitting? Nope. Giving away outs by being one of a handful of managers in baseball that doesn't understand why sac bunts are trash? Bingo!

This is Chicago. Making plans based on weather 36 hours away is silly. Also, I'm not seeing this terrible forecast everyone else is. Rain showers don't guarantee a PPD game, and it looks like they will be on and off.

I'm not sure how you determined that it was pretty clearly rosin. The rosin that is legal is that from the rosin bag. That's not what it looked like to me. What was on his hat was shiny. It was not white.

Why do you have a profile photo of... a baseball manager? The worship of baseball managers by some people is so strange to me. They are one of the least important coaches in all of sports. A good manager is worth, what? 2-3 wins in an entire season? The biggest thing for a baseball team is not having a BAD manager. As a bad manager can consistently cost you games with their stupidity... See: Tony La Russa thus far in 2021. A manager on a talented baseball team just needs to use common sense and stay the fuck out of the way. TLR can't even accomplish that. Shifts are basically all dictated to you by a fucking computer, and TLR can't even get those right. Hell, most of the time they don't shift at all. What does he actually do WELL? Aside from give away outs.

Rodon chirping Abreu about taking that popup. Haha
-
Sac bunts suck. White Sox lead the majors in them.
-
Hitters hitting .022 against Rodon's slider. Lmao. Madness.
-
Why is Collins bunting there??
-
Rodon is filthy.
-
STFU Boomer.
-
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
-
Joe West.....
-
I hate Joe West, but you have to respect anyone who puts that much time into their profession. An absurd amount of games.
-
Gio has a really nasty curve. I hope we start seeing it more.
-
Collins taking a beating back there tonight.
-
Yikes.
-
Destroyed.

I don't think they get Garcia at 2nd even without that lazy lob. Oh, and that's what lazy defense looks like, for all you Moncada haters.
