Pods and AJ are pretty much the only guys on this team that seem to give a s*** on a nightly basis. -

It's amazing how Pods can look so good on that play, and so bad on more routine s***... Absolutely amazing. Rios should still be in CF though. -
QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 11:53 PM) Peace out, Big Jim. Gear up for those 8th and 9th inning ABs against right-handed relievers. You ain't never gonna sniff another lefty again. You also get to reunite with your former teammate/fellow roider Manny Ramirez. That should be nice. Fellow roider? Are you seriously saying Thome is a roider?

White Sox took care of him. They made sure he went to a contender by throwing the cash into the deal. Good job to the Sox for being classy, and thanks for being awesome Jim. Let's hope he can get that World Series win in LA this year.

Sox at Yankees August 30th game thread

Man, the White Sox have absolutely noone right now that is going up to the plate with a short, quick swing, trying to get base hits. Everyone is swinging for the fences up there. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 02:52 PM) ...And people told me that Masset was nothing special last year when I said I didn't like how we gave up Masset in the Griffey deal. Having Masset and Macdougal right now would DRAMATICALLY improve the garbage we call our bullpen. -

QUOTE (RME JICO @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 02:49 PM) Look at his pre and post ASB splits. Two different pitchers. I think his arm is just done. He's only got so many pitches in it, and he has passed that point. -

QUOTE (b-Rye @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) Nick Masset: 2.81 ERA 57.2 IP Mike Macdougal: 1.98 ERA 36 IP David Aardsma: 2.26 ERA 31 Saves I would like them back. I'm starting to question Coop as well. We get rid of those guys to improve our bullpen, and our bullpen is one of the worst in baseball now, with all three of them pitching great this year. Meh. -

What was Freddy's pitch count when he was yanked? Anyone know? It seems like we should just let our starters pitch the entire game every other day. It's really the only chance we have to win. Twenty-two runs in the 7 games against NY and Boston from our bullpen? LOL -

Our bullpen is awesome. Best bullpen in the major league by far. -
8/29 Thread - Sox vs Yankees - 12:05pm CDT on WGN

This team just sucks so bad. There isn't a single aspect of the 2009 White Sox that is above average. We are just an underachieving group of dinosaurs, with terrible baseball IQs, and zero chance of competing for a World Series. This team needs a 50% turnover for next year, for the playoffs to even be a pipe dream. -

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 15, 2009 -> 12:00 AM) You asked how he hits the ball so far. I know. I was just being stupid.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 11:58 PM) He's wirey strong, similar to Soriano. He has great hips (that's what she said) and his wrists are so quick. That's why he has a great swing I guess?
-
How does a guy that skinny, hit the ball THAT far? Alexei has a great swing.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 12:38 AM) Dye could use a couple of days off but he is still a vastly superior player to Pods. Pods has done an average job getting on base, but he brings nothing else to the table. He is a terrible defensive player and he has been horrendous on the base paths. 17 SB to 9 CS, plus he has been picked off 6 times. That is embarrassing. True enough. Rotate four OFs or something, with Pods being the one that fills in when a guy needs a rest? lol Not really a bad problem to have. Keeps the guys working hard for playing time when you have guys that can knock you out of the lineup. -

QUOTE (SockMe @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 12:28 AM) is there any chance that Beckham could leadoff, so we could start Rios in CF. Why do we need to do that? Move Pods to LF, Quentin to RF, and Rios to CF. Let Dye sit. He's been absolutely terrible since the All-Star Break, and looks like he needs a rest. -

Well, this series isn't looking good. Then we go to Oakland, where we perpetually suck. Might be sub .500 by the end of the week? -
His swing just seems to have slowed down considerably. I think he's compensating by swinging early and pulling everything. I dunno. Whatever it is, he's killing us batting third, and hitting .160 since the All-Star Break.

Remember when our big bats were clutch late in games? Man....2005 was such a long time ago. We miss so many chances given good pitches to hit. -
