  1. I hope Santos puts up zeros in his Yankee stadium debut.
  2. Is it me, or does the Yankee stadium have ushers dressed like flight attendants?
  3. Dangnabbit. Thanks a lot Quentin. And the 7th inning stretch is like adding salt to a wound.
  4. Of course... they walked Konerko to get to Quentin. I think I rather have Rios/Konerko/Jones/then Quentin. :-/
  5. Hahahahah, Rios got on base! I just love having that guy, he's officially my Sox mancrush. Hahahahahah, just stole 2nd! RIOS!!!!!!!! I wonder how embarrassed all those anti-Rios people from last year are feeling right now.
  6. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 08:01 PM) Feast or famine for Freddy...either mows them down or gives up runs. Better late than never, but: Welcome to Soxtalk.
  7. I actually feel very confident that Rios can catch any ball that flies out to center. I love having him on the Sox.
  8. Garcia needs to be yanked the minute he allows someone on base.
  9. Wow, I totally forgot this game was gonna be on tonight. I was working on my homework all day and just finisehd it 30 minutes ago. Now I'm sitting down with a plate of spaghetti and italian sausage, gatlic bread, cherry pepsi, and a WINNING Sox game. :
  10. QUOTE (WCSox @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 01:50 PM) Funny how Thome doesn't have a problem playing for $1.5 million. JD needs to get over himself. He's old, the market is bad, he can't play defense anymore, and he couldn't hit during the second half of last season. He's not getting Damon money, or even Teahen money. I do think it's messed up how someone like Teahen would be making more than Dye. Teahen never really impressed me that much yet. :-/
  11. QUOTE (OsweGo-Go Sox @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 12:08 PM) Premieres July 4th, at 7pm Chicago time. Awesome, thanks dude.
  12. Sweet. Does anyone know exactly when this will air on tv? I also hope they provide closed captioning, cause I always have a hard time figuring out what Ozzie's saying without it.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) Pierre is a good #2 guy. He hits it on the ground, will make contact in hit and run situations, can bunt and you won't waste an AB to someone who actually drives in runs, and not counting Wed. doesn't hit into DPs often so if they do get a force he is capable of stealing second. He's not nearly as bad as he's shown, but he shouldn't leadoff. Ninth is good for now, when he starts to hit, and he does get real hot in stretches move him to #2. Actually, if Pierre hits nothing but groundballs, then I would be worried about him hitting into more doubleplays if he bats 2nd. Kinda defeats the purpose there. I think it might be best to bat him 9th, and if he gets on base, then that's just a bonus.
  14. So I checked the score during a break in class and found out Peavy gave up 5 runs in the first inning. What the hell?!?!?!?!!??!?
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 03:51 PM) I believe they mentioned something about a submarine but they were vague. Ohhhhhh, how interesting! Next time you hear back from them, you should ask them if you're a Candidate.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:51 AM) I'm in the interview process for a position out of state (Portland, OR) and I'm starting to get a little nervous that I might get an offer. There's so many things that I'd need to take care of since we own a house. Has anyone been through this before? What if I can't sell my house before I leave? Do I rent it for the time being? Do I drop the price significantly just to sell it? What if the sale price doesn't cover what I still owe? What the heck is a short sale? How do I find a place to live in the other city without flying back and forth several times and dishing out a boatload of $$ (Assuming I just get an apartment for the 1st year or 2). Anyone with experience moving your stuff across the country? What's the best way to handle that? Thanks in advance. Will this job in Portland require you to travel to an island to conduct fertility research?
  17. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 10:38 AM) I still got about a year left, I took a lot of night classes and try to get 1 or 2 online classes each semester when I was in Community College (or trimester now) - I also use www.ratemyprofessors.com a lot to make sure I am not taking a teacher that just buries you with busy work for no reason, which works for me most of the time Yea, I used ratemyprofessors.com to pick almost all my teachers when I was at Moraine Valley. It's also the biggest reason I was finally able to pass College Algebra 141 after taking it for the 3rd time. Unfortunately, so far at DeVry the options for teachers/classes seem very limited. So far I only had, like, 1 teacher to pick from for the classes I wanted to take in the day/time I wanted to pick. In fact, some are so limited that there's only one class offered and being taught by only one teacher each semester. If my math is correct, if I have 42 credit hours left, I should have about 11 classes or so left if most of them are 4 credit-hour classes. So hopefully I strike it lucky with decent teachers. :-/
  18. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 12:15 AM) Yeah, definitely a lot of props on that one. I work part time and find it really hard to do both so I can't imagine full time. Yea, I agree. I've been working part-time since I was 16 and going to school part-time as well because I couldn't really afford full-time school and I didn't want to be in a position where I barely have time to do homework. That's why I'm almost 25 and I still have 42 credits left before I get my degree.
  19. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) Where do you go? I am on trimesters and just finished my stats class at GSU lol, it would've been awesome if we were in the same class together. I actually go to DeVry at the Tinley Park campus. I was originally planning on going to Governor's State, but I decided to go to DeVry because I can get a BA in Business Administration with a concentration on Human Resources without having to take Calculus.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 04:32 PM) SouthSide, will you join my I love Juan Uribe fanclub I'm starting...? Thanks, Holden lol, sure, I'll join the Uribe fan club.
  21. I voted for Uribe because I think he'd be a great upgrade over Vizquel for the bench, plus I rather see Uribe getting spot starts at 2nd, shortstop, and 3rd instead of Vizquel. Vizquel just seems like a waste of a roster spot, almost as bad as having Lillibridge on the roster.
  22. I came across this article and video clip and I couldn't stop laughing : I thought I'd pass it along... Article: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_leagu...?urn=mlb,236974 Video: http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=7677663
  23. My school has a tri-mester system, and each 16-week trimester is split in half to part A and part B. I just finished my spring trimester part A by passing Statistics with a 92%, and now I have 42 credit hours left before I get my BA. Tomorrow I start my spring semmester part B classes, which are Project Management and Labor Relations, and both are 4 credit hours each. The schedule is gonna be hell, though, cause both classes are on Wednesdays and one is from 8am-12 and the other is from 6pm-10. Gonna be a long 8 weeks. But when I pass both of those classes, I ought to be down to just 34 credit hours left for my BA before I start my summer trimester.
