And what about me? How do I get the livestream???
-
I need help as well. I'm in Oak Lawn and I have comcast but no tv, so I have to watch on my computer. How to I find the livestream for sox games, such as today's game on WGN??? I keep getting the news. Am I blacked out???

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 01:35 PM) It's why I actually really liked the move from the Sox perspective. They seemigly want him back and are willing to spend good money to keep him. but JS wanted to enter the season betting on himself, which I respect. So if he preforms great, Sox get a killer season out of him and hopefully can re-up, and if he sucks, the Sox get a draft pick and move on from a pitcher on the downswing. Not a ton of risk there. If he has a killer season, you trade him at the trade deadline. If he sucks, you try to re-sign him to a bargain contract and hope he regains form.

Am I blacked out from watching the sox on the wgn livestream even though I live in the south suburbs???
-
Hey guys, I need help. I have comcast, but I cannot find the WGN livestream of the sox game. I keep getting the news. what gives?
-
I wish the sox would take the opportunity to sign Rafael Sorriano. Can you imagine how sick the bullpen would be with Sorriano?

Play for: 1. Chicago White Sox 2. Detroit Tigers: play more games in the central division and visit Chicago/home more. I also actually like Detroit. 3. Kansas City Royals: play more games in the central division and visit home more. Never play for: 1. Colorado Rockies: I cannot play for a team with such a religiously christian clubhouse. I'd be alienated when I decline to participate in group prayer, etc. 2. New York Yankees: I would not want to shave my facial hair. I hate being clean-shaven. 3. Texas Rangers: way too hot in that stadium.

QUOTE (juddling @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 08:19 PM) Alpha Dog and I played a mail game with friends back in high school days (mid to late 80's). I don't remember the name of it....basically it was a war game with the US, Russia and Europe gone. That game sounds really cool.

Since most of you are an older crowd, you would probably know what I'm talking about... Have you ever played in any PBM (play by mail) games? I just recently got back into playing a play by mail wrestling game called the IWA (Imaginary Wrestling Association) after being retired for the last 10 years or so. I originally played from 1997 to 2005, and I was feeling nostalgic and ended up going back, lol. Two of my buds I met through the game also went back, and the funny thing is, when I first joined the game in 1997 when I was 12, I was one of the youngest people in the game, and now at 29 years Old, i'm still one of the youngest players in the game because most of the other players are in their 30's, 40's, 50's and older. Have any of you ever played in the IWA? If so, what leagues and stables were you in? (Something tells me that lostfan would love this game with how he loves cosplaying. ) For those who doesn't know, the IWA is a play by mail game where you create a wrestler or a couple wrestlers, join a league, and pick a 15-hold strategy where each hold has a hold value that changes from cycle to cycle, and the wrestler with the best value "wins" the match. When you send in your wrestler's strat, you also send in matches, you get a paper bulletin in the mail 3 weeks later with the first page being league, tv, regional champs, tag and tv tag champs, sixman and tv sixman champs, plus the 2nd page is rankings, then the rest are match results and trash talk that you write and send in. In the current age of the internet, this game is a dying breed, a rare game, and a lot of young kids nowadays wouldn't have the patience for this game in today's instant-results world. But this game is still very fun for the old-school types who enjoy creating characters and submitting role-playing trash talk. Basically you can be a pro wrestler in an imaginary wrestling ring, lol. So that's the pbm game I play in, which is at www.playiwa.com What games have you guys played? I'd be interested in checking them out.

If the sox ever build a new stadium in downtown chicago, I think they should build it close to where Soldier Field is, if there's any available land there. Someone who knows the land there should hopefully be able to verify this. But imagine if they build the new stadium close to soldier field, with a view through the centerfield of the downtown chicago skyline? It would look especially beautiful at night. parking would prolly suck, and it would be a little bit of a long walk from the rock island line, but it would be a fun park to go to, especially if there's any way the park can be angled for a downtown skyline view AND allow for home run balls to be hit into lake michigan. What do you guys think? All in all, though, i am happy with the current location at 35th, i find it easy for me to get to with the rock island line and i like not having to go further north.

Hey guys, how do you hand-wash your dishes? The reason why I ask is because my fiance and I disagree over how dishes should be washed. She thinks the way I wash dishes is gross, wastes soap, and wastes water, and I think the way she washes dishes is gross and not cleaning anything. Here's the way I hand-wash dishes: I use my hands, my hands are washed before I wash the dishes. I use either an sos pad or a sponge to get food and crud off dishes, and then I apply dish soap directly to what I'm washing and lather it up with the soap until I get suds all over the place, then I rinse it with hot running water which is running at all times. As I'm rinsing it off, I rely on my sense of touch to make sure dishes are no longer greasy. How she hand-wash dishes: She fills up one side of the sink with water and soap, and puts all the dirty dishes in the soapy water. She takes whatever she is washing out of the soapy water, wipes it with a "clean" dish rag, rinses it over running water, and and that's it. She doesn't apply any soap directly to whatever she's washing. :-x So... who's style of washing do you prefer and how do you wash the dishes when washing by hand?

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 11:56 AM) Aiken signed for $6.5 million for a near-$8-million slot value (81%). Kolek, if $6 million is true, will be signing for 88% of his slot value ($6.8 million). Sox can go about 107% of Rodon's slot value. Will be interesting to see what happens. So what are your predictions for what Rodon signs for? There seems to be a good chance that the Sox can convince Rodon and Boras to sign for less than 6 million, perhaps even 5.9 million. What was the slot value of the 3rd pick, anyway? With how Aiken and Kolek both signed for below slot, the sox has more weight in trying to sign Rodon at or below slot as well so they can throw more money to Montes de Oca.

Wow, if Jerry wants the next commissioner to be tougher on the players' union, then i'm gonna have to go against jerry on this one.

If we traded for a stud RH starter this year who would it be?
SouthsideDon48 replied to Jerksticks's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Maybe try and trade for Michael Pineda if the yankees are tired of dealing with him? Or deal for Jacob Turner from Miami and see if Coop can fix him? Trade Sale to the Mariners for Taijuan Walker and James Paxton? Trade for Trevor Cahill from Arizona as another Coop project? Trade for Josh Beckett from the Dodgers? -
Any idea if they'll be re-airing this at midnight or 1am? I'd love to watch this, but i'm not home from work yet.

Sox vs Twins April 3 game thread

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 03:44 PM) You guys think I'm a moron for saying this all the time, but Nate Jones' arm delivery is awful. I only saw one other guy throw like that, Keith Foulke. I don't know how any pitching coach can allow him to pitch that way. Some of you guys who were pitchers ... do u agree with me?? His arm delivery is not conducive to anything positive. late reply, but i think jones' delivery is kina similar to paco rodriguez's delivery. paco is left-handed, but he's been lights out for the dodgers. what do you think? -
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Mar 21, 2014 -> 12:38 PM) Olt's done his ST hitting against nothing but scrubs, and isn't really tearing it up otherwise. Far from sold on his recovery. Some of the Cubs prospects will be very, very good, if not great. But they won't ALL be, by a long shot. And Theo's enormous ego will likely have him trading the non-studs a bit too late. Theo and Jed are picking up every prospect (slight hyperbole) who they drafted in Boston or San Diego, but failed - it will be fun watching their enormous egos ratcheted down a peg or three. Cubs Prospects that i think will do good: Javier Baez (high errors, tho), possible all-star Arismendy Alcantara (leage-average) Kris Bryant (over-rated, but possibly above-average) CJ Edwards (sleeper) Not sure about: Mike Olt Cubs prospects i think will suck: Brett Jackson (bust) Albert Almora (don't see anything in him)

If the sox can trade for Mitch Moreland from Texas on the cheap, or if Texas dfa's Moreland in favor of giving Choice more playing time and then the sox claimed him, would'nt be too bad of a move. can't really think of any other left-handers the sox could realistically get. Was Brandon Allen left-handed? If so, maybe the sox can sign him to a minor league contract and see of they can resurrect his career.

I prefer southwest because I like being able to sit where ever I want. That's a major appeal to me. I was pissed when I flew delta and was told by someone that I was sitting in their seat (didn't know delta assigned seats), and I eneded up having to fly from LaGuardia to Midway next to a creepy middle-aged man wearing daisy dukes. I'm not joking, this was actually the same day that michael jackson died, everyone were finding out he died when people were turning their cell phones back on after landing.

Build Your Own Deal with the Mariners
SouthsideDon48 replied to The Ultimate Champion's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Everyone on Soxtalk would hate this, but I'd trade the Mariners Chris Sale for Taijuan Walker, James Paxton, Tyler Pike, Stefan Romero, and DJ Peterson. -
Soxtalk 20-team League
SouthsideDon48 replied to SouthsideDon48's topic in PTC/Contest/Fantasy Board
Looking to fill up my 2 leagues: Both of my leagues are 20-team leagues with 25-man rosters and we use these 2 leagues as a recruiting ground for our dynasty leagues. My leagues needing some extra teams are: SZBL: needs 4 teams. GSBL: needs 6 teams. The SZBL, which needs 4 more teams, has been in existence since 2006, so it's entering it's 9th season. We're doing an old school snake draft on Friday March 14th at 10:30pm CDT. The GSBL, which needs 6 more teams, has been in existence since 2007. We revamped this league this year by adding divisions, free agent acquistion budgets, and we are doing an AUCTION draft where each team will have an auction draft budget of $999 (Max allowed by yahoo is 999, so I can't go with 1 grand as a reference to the GSBL being called the GRAND SLAM baseball league). We're doing our auction draft on Sunday March 9th at 9:45pm CDT. If you're interested in joining either one or both of my leagues, please send me PM through soxtalk with your email address and I'll email you an invitation. -
2013-14 off season player movement thread
SouthsideDon48 replied to southsider2k5's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jan 16, 2014 -> 08:05 PM) Interesting, looks like JayZ has two baseball players now. Even more interesting is the southpaw signing with his right hand. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/01/cc-s...ion-sports.html https://mobile.twitter.com/CC_Sabathia/stat...ame=CC_Sabathia I think people writing with a different hand than they throw with may be more common than you think. I write left-handed, but I throw balls with my right hand. I toss trash in the trash can with whichever. -
If I were to have a bunch of sons and I was able to give them whatever first names I wanted, then I would use the following names: Boone Reese Mason Eddie James (yea, 1st and middle name combo) Don III Jackson Von Shane Boone is my all-time favorite name, tho. I like names that are kinda rough-sounding and not something that sounds like something some upperclass family would name their kid. For example, names I HATE are: Taylor Aiden Skylar Blake
