  1. I find that the best way to manage time is to not have that many obligations. For example, I think if people are working full-time, they should go to school part-time. Especially in this economy, there really shouldn't be any rush in finishing school, so take your time and finish it at a leisurely pace. We're all lucky to have jobs right now, anyway, so just focus on making ends meet and getting one or two classes done at a time so you can still have free time left over to just relax and enjoy life. Too many people get wrapped up in the rat race of life that they forget to enjoy life. Too many people set unreasonable goals for themselves and expect to achieve them in a very short time, but for what? You got your whole life to work at it, why overachieve in a short amount of time? That's one thing I try to avoid doing, I try everything I can to avoid deadlines, in my personal life and at work. Deadlines equals obligations, and obligations equals stress, and I don't need stress. And as for work, I'm being paid to do services, but I see myself as a businessman providing a service for my employer, and what I'm being paid by my employer should only require me to give miminal effort at work. If my employer wants me to go "above and beyond", then they need to offer bonuses, because I'm not going to kiss butt or rush to get things done for things that are not in my job description, and I will follow that philosophy with me for the rest of my life because I honestly don't feel the need to impress anyone or to attain any form of "status". Business is business, and the same way businesses tries to cut corners and save money should be the same way ordinary people "take their time" with their responsibilities at work, because time is money and the more they drag out their work, the more money they'll make. However, jobs where you get paid a commission instead or where you have to get clients/accounts to reach a deal is different. Now a lot of people reading this might think I have a horrible work ethic. Well, I really do follow the "Office Space" philosophy of slacking off and taking your time at work. If you have a life without a lot of urgent obligations, and you have a lot of free time on hand, then your life is golden. Instead of buying a big fancy house where you have to worry about paying a big mortgage each month, buy a smaller place and pay a smaller mortgage. The space offered by a big house is just an unneccessary luxury, I rather have the luxury of not having to stress out over a big mortgage and have more money in the bank instead. Don't have time to shave? Who cares? Just shave at your leisure when you have time for it. Some places doesn't like it when their employees have a 5'o'clock shadow, but as far as I'm concerned, having some whisters on my face doesn't affect how I perform my job, and I never care about how "presentable" I look to clients. There were many times when my manager told me to shave before coming to work the following day, and I didn't do it. Why? Cause I just didn't get around to it because shaving is not important to me. Once my manager said I should shave everyday, which made me laugh in his face, because I told him it'd be surprising if I shave once a week, because I usually shave once every 2 weeks. A lot of my co-workers always bust their butts trying to get stuff done, but not me. I work, and people see me work, but I'm not in a rush. What would take me 5 minutes if I cared probably takes me 15 minutes because I take my time, and that's more money in my pocket. If there were Umpires at where I work, they would be constantly telling me to hurry up with my pitches. :-p I also do the bare minimum for college homework. I also go as far as trying to find which teachers generally don't give homework so that I can have more leisure time without having to stress over homework. It really makes no difference to me if I pass a class with an A, a B, or a C. As long as I pass the class, and my gpa stays at 3.0, then I'm fine. I'm not one of those people who feels they need to strive hard and get a 3.8 or 4.0 gpa just to impress people. I'm fine with mediocrity.
  2. My car is dark green 1993 toyota camry with 235,500 miles on it, is missing hubcaps on the passenger side, has paint chipped off all over, and most of the paint is chipping off the hood. I think I look badass in a junky car, and it kinda looks a little like Roadkill from the Twisted Metal games, and I'm damn proud of it.
  3. I'll try and stop in on one of the days I'm on my way to one of the casinos. Also, I recommend that you sell pizza by the slice as well, I think you can make a lot of extra money doing that if you promote it well. Especially if you do something like "$3.50 for a slice of pizza and a can of soda". You might get a lot of people getting a slice on their lunch break from work. Believe me, I have a craving for a slice of pizza once in a while, and it's hard to find places that sells pizza by the slice around here. In fact, the only places by where I work that sells pizza by the slice is Dominick's and this other place further down the road that's not that special, however, some of my co-workers drive 7 miles to this place called Anthony's pizza for their awesome pizza slices on their lunch breaks. Selling pizza by the slice can be a big money draw. Hey, among your normal full-sized pizzas, will you be serving BBQ chicken pizza and BLT pizza? If so, then I'll definitely trek over to your place and try your pizza out. *whispers*... there's this other place near me that has a veal parmesean sandwich, which is freaking orgasmically awesome! You might wanna look into "borrowing the idea".
  4. One of my good friends is a DJ, but he's more of a hip-hop dj and he's not polish at all, he's black. But he is hilarious.
  5. QUOTE (Cubano @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 07:20 AM) I have some pictures of him. I think he will have a great season. http://www.cubanballplayers.com/?p=749 That's pretty cool.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 09:30 AM) We're obviously back in 2004, mommy is still waiting at the funeral for Jack's dad, etc etc. Interestingly enough, they showed Jack analyzing his face as if thinking "do I look a bit older?" Hmmmm, I think the alternate reality where they landed in LAX and mommy's waiting at the funeral for Jack's father is in 2004, but the original reality where Jacob was killed and Jack and the others are with the Others at the Temple is in 2007 because Lapidus is on the island, too.
  7. QUOTE (juddling @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 12:10 AM) I'm guessing that the season will end with the island going underwater and the Losties all being placed back on the plane like it never happened. So the stuff on the plane was a fast-forward of sorts. That could explain why Jack thought Desmond looked familar. A couple times Jack had a look on his face like he kind of knew these people were familiar but couldn't place them. Hmmmmm, I think... it's some kinda alternate reality when they showed Jack and the people on the plane and the island underwater, because the original flight took place in 2004. However, in the "original reality", where Jacob was killed by Fake Locke, and how Sayid was brought to the temple by Hugo and Jack, etc, we know this takes place in 2007. We also know that all the scenes shown at the temple and the beach by the statue foot took place at the same time cause they showed how the Others on the beach by the statue foot saw the signal flares the people at the temple shot into the sky. This is all so confusing, I wonder if somehow both realities will collide in some way.
  8. I must've said "wtfffffff" about 10 times already.
  9. QUOTE (chwhtsox @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 10:37 PM) got here yesterday, i did the $20 tip not trick. Had my hands on the counter with the $20 peeking through. I asked if I could get a suite higher up with a view of the strip. He clearly looked at the twenty before punching away at his keyboard and got me the view of the strip, a fridge that they usually charge you $20 a day for and a $30 resort credit. I'd suggest doing it this way, it felt more like a tip while we both knew it was a bribe. Awesome, have a great time, man. Just make sure you don't lose your satchel.
  10. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 10:49 PM) The ratios are on the can. And I've seen the stuff at my local mega mart and Wal Mart. It's with the 10 gallon 1,000 Island Dressing and the "Float a boat in it" BBQ sauce. Thanks, dude. I'm really looking forward to having taco salad this Thursday just like how it was made in high school.
  11. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 10:48 PM) Go to Wal-Mart and shop the industrial/food service aisle. You will find exactly what you are looking for in 5lb+ cans. The jalapenos are there too. http://www.walmart.com/ip/El-Mexicano-Nach...e-6-lb/10313275 Big honking can of nacho cheese ^^ I had no idea Walmart sold that stuff, I'm gonna have to try and find it there, cause I bet it'll be cheaper than at GFS. About how much is a can like that? The price doesn't show up on my cell phone, but I'm hoping it's not more than $6 or $7 bucks.
  12. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 10:28 PM) Everybody pointing to the big industrial cans of liquid cheese is exactly right. I spent my high school years selling chips and nachos out of various concession stands at Lincoln Park Zoo, Bears games, etc., and that's what we used. You also need the big-ass can of jalapeno slices and then you are in business. Hey dude, do you remember how you used to prepare the liquid cheese from the big industrial cans? Did you just pour it into a pot and heat it up and serve it? Or did you have to pour milk in it, too? The reason I ask is because I never noticed anyone mix milk in with that stuff.
  13. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 10:03 PM) Most of the stores by me sell it I've picked it up at Sams Club. Basically you have to mix it with milk and heat it up. About how much milk in proportion to cheese are you supposed to pour in? I worry about diluting the cheese too much.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 05:07 PM) You can get it at any grocery store in the chip aisle. It comes in a little tin can its like Fritos Mild Cheddar cheese sauce. They also have Jalapeno Chedder. I just used it last night. It's awesome. Really? Hmmm, I never noticed anything in a little tin can. All I ever saw in the chip aisle at food stores here are the Frito-Lay stuff in glass cans that are a little too thick and not quite the same as the mass-produced nacho cheese. Plus, I need enough cheese for a whole family, so I need something in a big can or so for a whole pot full of cheese.
  15. QUOTE (SnB @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 05:05 PM) this is what we had http://www.webstaurantstore.com/gold-medal...cs/3805279.html That's exactly what my high school cafeteria had, that stuff was awesome.
  16. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 05:02 PM) Look at Sams Club or Costco. That crap comes in big ass 145 lb cans. I used to get it ALL the time in high school. Really? Hmmmmmmmm. I wish I was a member of Costco or Sam's Club. : The cost of membership at those places seems pretty steep. But that doesn't stop me from going to Costco just to eat the free samples while getting in with a different alias everytime I go. I once used Paul Konerko as an alias. :
  17. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 04:57 PM) Gordon Food Service Marketplace GFS Marketplace is all over South Chicago. Dude, that's a great idea! There's one a few blocks from me, I'm gonna have to check it out. Thanks, dude.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 04:43 PM) Here you go. Here is your cheese: Nacho Cheese That looks like that's exactly what I'm looking for! Now hopefully I can find a big can of that at a store someplace sometime before Thursday. I need enough for the whole family.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) Don, Judging by some of the comments in this thread, my guess would be maybe trying to order it directly from the distributor. You might have to order it in bulk, but you could probably find it that way. Hmmmmmmm, hopefully I can find a place that sells a big can or something. It sucks that cheese is so hard to find, cause I bet it'd sell a lot more if it was more readily available.
  20. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 04:31 PM) Reminds me of a time about 20 years ago when I was working as a night auditor. Each night in the wee hours of the morning we would have to go to each restaurant and bar (lotsa free booze, since we had access to all keys) and close out the cash registers. Sometimes at the Rec Center they would leave the nacho cheese dispenser on so that the cheese would be nice and hot and we could fix ourselves a plate of nachos. One night when they failed to do this I noticed sitting on top of the garbage a huge can which the cheese came in. I inspected it and saw that there was quite a bit of cheese still in it. I figured it hadn't been but a couple of hours since they closed and if I nuked the cheese it would be safe for consumption. Boy, was I wrong! It didn't taste bad so I ate quite a bit. This must have been about 4 am. I got off of work at 7 am. No sooner did I get home from work and I started getting sick. I happened to weigh myself beforehand. By 11 am when I was pretty much done being sick I weighed myself again and I had lost 7 pounds, that's how f***ing sick I got. : That was hilarious! Thanks for sharing that.
  21. QUOTE (Heartattack19 @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 04:20 PM) What about melting Velveeta? Like the commercial, mix it with some Rotel and you have an instant Nacho Dip! Hmmmmm, I tried that once before, but the problem with the velveeta is that when it cools down it hardens up. I'm looking for a cheese that stays in liquid form like nacho cheese.
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 04:06 PM) 1. I'm pretty sure that stuff isn't actually cheese. 2. Why would you WANT to make your taco salad like something you had in a high school cafeteria? 1. Even if it's not really cheese, it was REALLY good! 2. Cause it was the best taco salad I ever had in my life. : I actually gained 30 pounds while eating it twice a week in high school, lol. It had crunched up tortilla chips topped with greasy ground beef, oozy nacho cheese, lectuce, and tomatoes. It wouldn't be the same with any other kind of cheese, even shredded cheese, it was THAT good. I lost 60 pounds since I graduated high school and I figure I'd get back on the saddle and eat taco salad again. :
  23. QUOTE (SnB @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 04:06 PM) when i worked in my college cafeteria, that stuff comes in a weird bag that only works w/ the dispenser machines. Probably out of luck. yea, that's what my high school cafeteria used to do. They used to get them in bags, cut the bag and pour all the cheese into a big pan and scooped the cheese into the taco salad with a ladle.
  24. You know the liquidy nacho cheese that comes with nachos at US Cellular Field and other places that serve typical nachos? Well, where in the world can you buy that nacho cheese? The reason I ask is because everytime I make my taco salad, which is copied from my old high school's taco salad, I can't find the typical liquid-style nacho cheese in food stores. The only liquid-style cheese I can find is some kind of mexican brand in a small mexcian food section at Jewel, but it doesn't taste anything like the nacho cheese that normally comes with nachos. And even the people working at food stores has no idea where to find nacho cheese, what the hell? The only stuff they can think of is the typical cheese dip that you find in the chip aisle, which is nothing like nacho cheese. So does anyone here have any idea where I can find nacho cheese without having to make it from scratch?
  25. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 12:32 AM) If the Sox didn't sign Thome, why would they sign Damon? The Sox have enough outfielders on the roster (Pierre, Rios, Quentin, Jones, and Kotsay can all play the outfield in some fashion, and I'm sure Ozzie would have no reservations about throwing Nix into LF) so there's no real need to put Damon out there, and if you don't do that...well, s***, he doesn't offer anything that Thome didn't except maybe a little speed and a few more base hits. That doesn't seem to make him superior to the likely-to-be-higher OBP , more home runs (and just to stop anyone who mentions "but Damon hit 24 last year and Thome only hit 23!!!" - Thome played one less month in the AL as a starting player than did Damon, and thus played in considerably fewer games and had considerably fewer PA's), and money saved that Thome would have provided. If the Sox sign Johnny Damon, I will be throughly and utterly surprised. I actually think Kotsay should be used as strictly a back-up 1st baseman instead of letting him see more time in the outfield in the speculative scenario of the Sox getting Damon. So that would make the Sox outfield look like this: Pierre, Rios, Quentin, Damon, with Jones on the bench. Which would put the Sox in a similar outfield situation as the Angels last year, which I prefer. Also, having Damon would allow the Sox to give Quentin more time at DH while not having to give too many at-bats to Kotsay. So it can be Quentin at DH, Pierre at LF, Damon at CF, and Rios at RF since I think Rios has a better arm to throw to 3rd base from RF than Damon does. Having Damon would give the Sox so much flexibility, it'd be awesome. I can think of all these different scenarios for different days when various players have days off: DH: Quentin, LF: Pierre, CF: Damon, RF: Rios. Day off: Jones, Kotsay. DH: Damon, LF: Pierre, CF: Rios, RF: Quentin. Day off: Jones, Kotsay. DH: Jones, LF: Pierre, CF: Rios, RF: Quentin. Day off: Damon, Kotsay. DH: Jones, LF: Damon, CF: Rios, RF: Quentin. Day off: Pierre, Kotsay. DH: Konerko, LF: Damon, CF: Rios, RF: Quentin, 1B: Kotsay. Day off: Pierre, Jones. DH: Konerko, LF: Pierre, CF: Rios, RF: Quentin, 1B: Kotsay. Day off: Damon, Jones. DH: Konerko, LF: Jones, CF: Damon, RF: Rios, 1B: Kotsay (sunday lineup?) Day off: Quentin, Pierre. etc, etc, etc... This is exactly how I think the DH position should be utilized, and the possibilities would be endless.
