  1. I wouldn't want the Sox to trade away 7 players for Fielder, but... I would love it if the Sox got Fielder. If the Sox was able to get Peavy for only 4 players in today's baseball economy, then I can see Fielder being had for 5 minor-leaguers, MAX.
  2. ...case in point to my previous post... out of the last 20 or so games left in the season, the Sox play Detroit 6 times. That's boring, despite the face that there's a division championship at stake.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 15, 2009 -> 03:44 PM) I'd rather keep the Cubs twice, but I agree with everything else. As for the Mets, we've only had the opportunity to play them 4 times ('02, '04, '07, '10), so it's not that big of a travesty that we've missed them since I believe we've hit all the other 15 franchises. As for me, I like having 2 series against the Cubs every year, and I also wish there was MORE interleague games and a little bit less games against division opponents. I'd rather have, like, ...an extra series against the Arizona Diamondbacks and 3 less games against Minnesota, and an extra series against the Phillies and 3 less games against Detroit, and an extra series against the Mets and 3 less games against Cleveland, and even an extra series against St. Louis and 3 less games against KC, etc etc etc. I rather have the schedule of all teams be half against interleague and half against league/division than the way it is now. The way things is now makes things kinda boring when it's always the same teams again and again, I'm not really a big fan of how much emphasis is put on divisional play and keeping both leagues separated. There's no reason to not have more interleague games, because the home team will always have the advantage in league rules, anyway.
  4. It'd be really nice if we can win today, Detroit lost 11-1 to KC.
  5. I still think Rios needs to get acclimated, and I don't think he'll be his old self till next season. Isn't this the first time he was traded while up at the major league level? It might take getting used to. For now, though, even though his bat is useless, I think he makes up for it with his defense, which I think is better than even Anderson.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 10:40 PM) Much worse. Darren Oliver has been plenty good in his role this season. Oh really? Too bad we couldn't capitalize against him tonight, cause the Sox always seem to hit good off him.
  7. ...And with that, the Sox lose with a sickening thud. Why why why did I stay up to watch this???
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 10:35 PM) Two more years of Linebrink after this one, right? Yea, I think you're correct. He's our Oliver, ...or something worse.
  9. YES!!!! I got Rivera on one of my fantasy teams, too, and kept him in the roster instead of Dye despite them both slumping. ...you know, it's pretty sad when I've given up on the Sox team and start rooting for my fantasy baseball players.
  10. ...I'm also glad I dropped Linebrink months ago and benched Dye for the past week. ugh. I also had Carlos Pena on one of my teams, and ended up replacing him with Mark Kotsay, ugh.
  11. I guess the only positives is that Abreu scored a run, which helps one of my fantasy baseball teams in the playoffs. ...and one of my opponents has Gavin Floyd, which helps me, too.
  12. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 08:57 PM) Nix owns Saunders 3 Hr's in 4 AB's. That's awesome.
  13. Honestly, though, I always saw the Rios acquistion as a move to shore up the team for the 2010 season. So I have no problem putting up with Rios' inconsistency this season because of that.
  14. QUOTE (son of a rude @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 08:01 PM) The golden age of chicago sports has begun (except for cubs fans). I love how the Cubs are always doomed to mediocrity.
  15. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 05:33 PM) my focus is already shifting to the Bears vs. Steelers in week 2. Thank god for football... I wish I can get more interested in football than I am, but I honestly cannot watch a football game without being bored to tears. The time of the year from November to March, from the end of the baseball postseason till the beginning of Spring Training, is just a boring barren time of the year for me.
  16. I'm really hoping Detroit is bound to hit a slump. Hopefully Minnesota and Detroit beat the crap out of each other and the White Sox win all their games at that period. I just wanna see Detroit and Minnesota loooooooose!!! >:-|
  17. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 04:58 PM) I think you make a valid point and one I have argued in the past. We all want to win and that should be without argument. But, when we have someone not performing to a high standard for whatvere reason, or just becasue we don't seem to take a shining to a player, the clamor is to cut them, trade them, blow them up, etc, and not realize that people have slumps and bad years. I look at the clamoring that was done on Vazquez and Swisher for instance. Both could have helped this team in 2009. One can certainly aergue about a future contributor being acquired, but those two have worked well for their new teams. We may react to quickly and regret the move that is made. We need to stop, take a step back and a deep breath and think that 2010 may bring a healthier player or just a clean start. Trades and FA signings are made to plug holes in your team not create more or just set up another problem. Agreed.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 08:05 AM) NBC Sports restocked every teams rosters by placing every player with the team they originally signed with. White Sox are #25, and I think it shows how bad we have drafted but how good of a job KW has done at getting rid of our bad talent and getting the top talent from other teams. Seattle is ranked #1. White Sox: http://bases.nbcsports.com/2009/08/restori...te-sox.html.php Rankings: http://bases.nbcsports.com/2009/09/restori...eattle.html.php Very interesting.
  19. I gotta say, I'm not really a huge fan of the Olympics coming here. But at the same time, it would be pretty cool, so I guess I'm 50/50 on it. If the Olympics does come here, I'm gonna try and find some way to make money outta this...
  20. Okay, I'm a fan of Hudson now. I really like how a lot of his pitches stay low in the strike zone. He sort of reminds me of Dustin Hermanson.
  21. If I was to vote, I'd definitely vote for Greinke. He's been unbelievable this year, he deserves it so much. It would be a tragic shame if he lost it just because he's not on a winning team. Plus... he made me look like a genius when I drafted him in one of my 20-team/25-man roster fantasy baseball leagues in a later round instead of drafting a "premium" pitcher like Linecum or Halladay in an earlier round.
