Hey everyone, how about have a thread where we list our current team rosters? Marco Scutaro This is my first time playing a roto league, I ended up joining as a "why not?" decision once my friend told me it was going to be a 20-team league. Towards the end of the draft, I once again picked Griffey as a sleeper pick, and I also picked Zaun as my back-up catcher with the hopes that Weiters might have an extended stay in the minors. I also drafted Konerko as a potential sleeper for my back-up 1st base slot because I'm expecting a bounce-back year from him. Scott Lewis was someone I picked on a gamble that I'm hoping will pan out. Compared to a lot of other teams in the league, I think I drafted a team that can compete with the pack.

Miguel Olivo *After all undrafted players cleared waivers, I made these following transactions: -dropped Miguel Olivo, picked up John Baker -dropped Asdrubal Cabrera, picked up Emilio Bonifacio. -dropped Yuniesky Betancourt, picked up Erick Aybar. The start of this draft was almost a disaster. The day before, I installed a new antivirus program and when draft time came I couldn't get through the firewall until after the 3rd round. Luckily for me, I pre-ranked players and had a ton of players on my exclude list. However, I was planning on reaching and drafting Manny Ramirez, Youkilis, and Uggla as my first 3 players. I ended up with Braun, Youkilis, and Martin instead, and ended up drafting the rest of the batters I decided to target pre-draft: Hardy, Abrue, Hunter, before I started picking pitchers. It is just a coincidence that I ended up with a very Chicago-heavy pitching staff, since a couple of pitchers I was targetting were picked before I was able to get to them, so I became a "best on board" situation. I drafted Josh Fields as my big sleeper-type pick, as well as Kendry Morales, because I'm predicting big years from those two. I also ended up picking Bonifacio as a free agent to back up 2nd base and I'm also expecting a big year from in in Florida. Bonifacio's been a fantasy prospect of mines since he was with the Nationals, and I have a pretty good track record on fantasy prospects (such as discovering Russell Martin in the Catcher pile in 2006). Some 12-team fantasy baseball players might wonder why I have 14 batters on my 20-team league teams. Well, in 20-team leagues, the free agent pool is so shallow that if one of your regular everyday batters are on the DL, you're just flat out of luck with MLB bench/utility-types being the majority of players to choose from. Drafting 17 pitchers in a deep league like this is not a good strategy, so I just draft enough pitchers to be able to compete while focusing on drafting solid offenses.

Nick Punto Analysis: I always target hitting in the first 6 rounds of drafts, especially in deep 20-team leagues so that I can dominate teams that overdraft pitchers and have thin offenses with my heavy-power offensive barrage. I was looking to draft someone that can hit 35+ home runs for my 1st round draft pick, since homers are at a premium in deep leagues, and was more than happy to draft Howard. I also drafted Dye for his offensive consistency and I also drafted Pena as a "why not?/best on board" pick and have him slotted in at Util. The trio of Howard/Dye/Pena along ought to be able to carry the team and I also drafted Phillips and Granderson as 5-tool types that can also net me decent steals. I also always target 2nd-tier pitching since I rather not draft someone like Santana or Linecum, since picking any pitcher in the first 6 rounds would really weaken my offense. Chris Getz is my prospective pick, and Ken Griffey is my low-ranked sleeper pick. Nick Punto was my last pick and I needed someone to back up SS, and the only other options were guys like Bruntlett. After the draft, I waited till all post-draft players cleared waivers so I can keep my waiver # and made some transactions: Dropped Jeff Clement, picked up Rod Barajas. Dropped Marcus Thames and picked up Juan Rivera.

I think too many people are putting the White Sox defense under the microscope way too much. Chill out. I'm more than willing to cheer for Wise as the lead-off hitter, and I think he's the type of hitter we need. People need to stop expecting the Sox to get some Gold Glove caliber guy in Center Field. People may argue that Brian Anderson has a Gold Glove caliber glove, but I rather sacrifice defense for the offensive tools of Wise. Also, I think our lineup is more than capable of compensating for our defense. C'mon. We got God, Dye, Thome, Alexei, and we should have a bounce-back year from Konerko, a big year from Fields, and another speedster in Getz. That's 7 guys right there, throw in the consistent production from AJ and the extra speed element from Wise, then I think we have the makings of a fun team to watch. Be optimistic, everyone, and stop being a bunch of bellyaching wet blankets.

I think the Sox will surprise people and finish 1st in a division full of teams with differring weaknesses, except the Sox will be able to overcome their own weaknesses. Other predictions: *Ozzie will periodically give Contreras and Colon rest by having Richard/Marquez/Broadway/whoever make spot starts throughout the season. *Kansas City will not finish 5th place and will shock a lot of people. Approximate predictions on randon Sox players assuming they got a full season of at-bats or starts: *Pierzynski: 60 runs, 12 homers, 55 rbi's, 1 stolen base, .274 avg. *Alexei: 89 runs, 26 homers, 86 rbi's, 21 stolen bases, .287 avg. *Konerko: 82 runs, 29 homers, 91 rbi's, 1 stolen base, .258 avg. *Dye: 92 runs, 30 homers, 98 rbi's, 4 stolen bases, .293 avg. *Fields: 82 runs, 31 homers, 93 rbi's, 11 stolen bases, .259 avg. *Getz: 80 runs, 10 homers, 69 rbi's, 20 stolen bases, .280 avg. *Buehrle: 13 wins, 135 k's, 4.20 era, 1.33 whip. *Danks: 15 wins, 169 k's, 3.42 era, 1.25 whip. *Linebrink: 2 wins, 2 saves, 51 k's, 3.90 era, 1.10 whip. *Brian Anderson will fizzle and people will give up on him except those who has the biggest mancrushes on him.

And that picture, I believe it was just a few episodes ago, either the beginning of season 5 or end of season 4.

sheesh, people seem very cliquey on this thread. I asked for everyone's thoughts and feedbacks on the the whole Daniel Farraday thing and no one responds, yet when someone else makes a post on something else there's immediately resposes to their posts. I'm through with this thread, **** everyone.
