  1. QUOTE (earthshiner @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 09:47 PM) new one http://straightcashhomey.net/post/45262769...s#disqus_thread Dewon Day I was the one who took that picture and submitted it to that site and I have to say I laughed for a good 30 min when I saw it. Whats even more funny is this guy was wearing it with pride, but then again cant let yourself get too down for too long after realizing you wasted so much money on that jersey.
  2. Part of me wants to say Remember The Name by Fort Minor but I think Ill go with Cold (Hip Hop Remix) by Crossfade
  3. I know Omar Vizquel is a great guy and ambassador to the game but I seriously get so pissed off and sickened every time I see him come to bat. Its not that I hate him but that I hate that Ozzie is (will be) using him so much. I have been to ST all week and have been pretty impressed with Jones and if he gets anything less than 80% of the DH time I will be disappointed. I know Kotsay will be many reps but if (when) Omar Vizquel is put out there I can expect many trips to the toilet.
  4. I love the approach we are taking with him. Basically, just start all over and learn the basics and use your strengths to help propel you to the bigs again. I for one am a huge fan of his signing and am definitely looking forward to what he can prove and show us all. His attitude should go a long way in the eyes of the Sox, if he can come in here and want to learn everything he can and be coached, I have no doubt he can do big things for us in the future.
  5. Saw this and thought I would pass it along. I for one am a huge fan of Jenks and likes the decision to slow himself down to make himself an all around pitcher. That will go a long way to the length of his career. This is a wonderful decision for any ball player in my opinion and I was just wondering what you guys think of this and how it may or may not affect him in the future... Jenks Quits Drinking
  6. Dont really consider him part of this but since we are talkin about such random players... Whatever happened to Jeff Bajenaru after we traded him???
  7. Just thought since this best of the decade talk was going on that I would post this: Images Of The Decade Although, I dont think I saw the White Sox once... ...still a good video though.
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 11, 2009 -> 01:51 PM) Jenks to Yankees for Gardner +? How long until Rivera retires? I dont think they would be interested in taking Jenks, as I think that would upset Joba because I honestly think he is what they are planning on grooming into their closer once Mariano retires. I just think he pans out more into that closer role than the starter he wants to be. I might be totally wrong, because the yankees basically take anyone thats decently good, but thats just my opinion.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 28, 2009 -> 01:01 AM) You're not addressing any of the points I am making. Instead, you are continuing to try and ram your own down my throat. You're operating under many assumptions here, which I am questioning the validity of. Until you are willing to even consider that your assumptions may be wrong, the debate will go nowhere. It's fine, we'll agree to disagree.
  10. I thought this deserved its own topic so I went ahead to start it. I have heard some interest around here for Chad Cordero and Justin Duscherer as well as some others, my guy I hope we target is Rafael Betancourt. He knows this division and had good stuff, he was not re-signed by the Rockies, which kind of surprised me since he was a key addition in their run to the playoffs. I hope we have somewhat of an interest in him. Discuss whomever you wish to make a realistic case for, to sure up this bullpen. I look forward to reading your guys' suggestions and input. Come this time every year, I'm boiling on the hot stove!
  11. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Nov 15, 2009 -> 12:59 AM) Anyone wana see Agon´s stats on where he sprayed the ball by park for the last year of two? NL or AL or both? QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 15, 2009 -> 05:04 AM) I know that he hits oppo for power quite a lot. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 15, 2009 -> 11:01 AM) His home run log I was watching some of his highlight videos on MLB.com before and towards the end of the season, during one of the videos a graphic popped up showing something like 3/4 of his bombs being hit to CF and LF, and the announcers said he was still leading the league (maybe baseball?) in opposite field home runs. I don't know where you go to find those kinds of stats, but he's either at the top or right around the top in all of of baseball in terms of opposite field shots. Adrian Gonzalez Hit Tracker Spray Chart
  12. I really hope we go after a guy like Rafael Betancourt, his option was declined by the Rockies and he knows this division well. He might not solve all of our bullpen problems but he could def. help. Colorado Rockies decline option on Rafael Betancourt
  13. Just read this article about the love and pride Chicago has for its sports and thought you guys might wanna read it... My love letter to Chicago sports
  14. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 11:42 AM) Did anyone ever see that Onion movie? That was like the worst piece of s*** ever made. There was another movie I saw once too, about some space alien guy, and this was I guess made by an editor there or something. That one blew also. dont really know why the onion movie was brought up but yes it did suck and this is the only funny part:
  15. I am one of Bobby's biggest supporters but if you believe he is in good shape now then you are mistaken:
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 8, 2009 -> 11:01 AM) Seriously, people are still talking about Brandon Wood? He's been putting up great numbers in AAA and bad numbers in the big leagues since I had like 50 posts on this board. I used to be a huge fan of Dallas McPherson when he was gonna bust out in the bigs, maybe I should start that bandwagon again... I agree on Brandon Wood, I think he has been hyped for like 7 years now and still has yet to do anything in the majors... Back to McPherson though, he was All-Universe in AAA and now he is begging for a minor league job somewhere. I dont think he will ever be anything in the MLB but my god look at his career AAA stats: 7 Seasons: G 608 PA 2622 AB 2273 R 436 H 673 2B 138 3B 35 HR 150 RBI 498 SB 78 CS 30 BB 308 SO 708 BA .296 OBP .384 SLG .586 OPS .970 TB 1331 Pure awesomeness, and especially his 2004 season between AA and AAA: G 135 PA 586 AB 521 R 107 H 165 2B 36 3B 14 HR 40 RBI 126 SB 12 CS 8 BB 57 SO 169 BA .317 OBP .387 SLG .670 OPS 1.057 TB 349 I only bring this guy up again because even at the time of his huge boom onto the baseball scene would I give up a proven top of the rotation young and cheap player for him? No. There's too many variables and issues with prospects, and don't get me wrong I LOVE prospects, but you cant have enough good SP especially at Gavin's age and skill set. Gamel might be good one day but Ill take a proven Gavin who is only going to get better with time.
  17. Yea, this is exactly the kinda guy I want on the Sox... Zambrano I dont want that guy anywhere near this team. Thats right, just quit if things dont go your way. Dont work harder to improve on the mistakes made and try to be the best professional you can be... I just have no respect for this man at all.
  18. QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 12:34 PM) rios hits a s*** load of doubles....47 last year, 43 the year before....his 25 so far this year isn't quite on pace, but would still lead our team and i'd think alot of them will turn to HR as he comes to our park and gets further along in his prime....between he and beckham we will have alot of runners on 2b I think KW goes one of two options this offseason. Either A.) he is confident in Getz and Getz leads off next year, while KW brings both Dye and Thome back and lets pods go, or B.) He upgrades at 2b/SS/3b (with Ramirez and Beckham filling the other 2 spots accordingly) with a lefty while letting Thome go, with an OF of Pods, rios, quentin with Dye DH. My vote is for B. I will vote as many times for B as I can...
  19. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 12:59 AM) Heading out the 20th to the 25th! I let StubHub bend me over for Sox-Cubs tix. Why are we paying so much at Camelback when we can drive over to the other parks and watch the Sox for a fraction of the price?? Serioulsy, $30-$45 for a decent seat? It's MF'in spring training. Just buy a lawn ticket and move to any open seat thats what I did for some games.
  20. Hey guys, just got back from a whole week in Arizona and I gotta say that Camelback is gorgeous. It really is amazing and hope more of you get out there. I would def get to the park around 10ish and watch the player practices and drills on each field. 5 dollar parking but after the game is really annoying to get out of the lot. Prepare for sun galore and as far as the sun to your back question, if you sit in the RF lawn the sun will be over you and moving to your back throughout the game. LF you will have sun facing you all game. Also, if you get food try the Jalapeno Sausage haha
  21. Wow, did you hear why they would release him?
  22. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 20, 2009 -> 05:35 PM) It's not a great fit for Joe. Staying in the American League is not going to help, especially when he received an offer from an NL club, going down a level could have given his numbers a nice bump. Playing half his games on concrete is not going to help his debilitating chronic back problems, only increase the likelihood that he has his 3rd straight season with under 100 GP. He's a big time flyball hitter, nearly 70% of his batted balls end up in the air so he won't be taking advantage of the Metrodome's #1 comodity, it's incredibly fast infield. I was totally gonna say the same thing. I love Joe for what he did here but honestly I dont think he will be a significant factor in Minnesota because of that surface he is playing on. If you have constant back problems you want to play on a soft field as much as possible to absorb some of the shock that your body exerts. Playing on that hard field is not gonna be friendly on his back. But hey if the Twins wanna pay him the money he wants then more power to em.
  23. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 12:58 AM) I didnt care for the show...not enough meat and highlights for me too much fluff I fully agree... Not very much effort put into it, the tie-breaker game alone shoulda took 10 minutes but it was brushed by so easily.
  24. QUOTE (beck72 @ Nov 24, 2008 -> 07:09 PM) Thanks for the heads up. And welcome aboard Yea ive been a reader of these boards for years and had a name for awhile but for some reason I tried logging in one day and it couldnt find my login, so here I am back in the game...
