  2. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....-the-field.html Dayan must have some car. Ozzie mentioned it yesterday, too. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws
  3. Wise is definitely the first one scuttled off the boat if all the burgeoning talent amassed pans out.

  5. QUOTE (VenomSox @ Feb 1, 2009 -> 08:21 PM) CF- Lillibridge 2B- Getz RF- Quentin LF- Dye DH- Thome 1B- Konerko SS- Ramirez C- AJ 3B- Fields I was going to post the exact same lineup. I like the potential of Lillibridge and Getz at the top.
  6. It doesn't sound to me like the pipeline is drying up. He just doesn't want this particular guy.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 02:00 PM) I'm certainly not sitting here thinking "Yippie! Josh is a better defensive player now because Joey Cora says will be shocked." But it is encouraging that Josh appears to be extremely dedicated and is working his ass off to be the best player he can be. You probably say all pro athletes should have that attitude. Unfortunately, many don't. Agreed. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 04:00 PM) Who is Milt Bradley's agent? Sam Levinson and Keith Miller, according to this Yahoo article.
  8. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Jan 14, 2009 -> 09:19 PM) In the article that had the link to it, I read where Marquez has a power chageup to both left and right handed hitters. Does anybody know exactly for sure what a power changeup is. I did some searching, and came up blank. Perhaps it's a shuuto, and they're just not calling it that as it's a Japanese term? I'm not sure. That part of his scouting report confused me as well.
  9. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 13, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) He's never had mobility. Even before he got injured at college. What he had was a huge arm and he was pretty accurate. I see him as another Ben Roethlisberger as his peak which isn't bad, but it isn't super great either. If I were the Bears, I'd take a crack at him. I just don't like the combo of his lack of mobility and our O line. I think part of Kyle's early success was his improved footwork and getting the ball out fairly quick. It masked the weakness about as well as could be done, IMHO. I don't know that Leftwich can do either of these things as effectively. Leftwich and Big Ben have the same problem; they hold on to the ball too long. Ben gets ringed up behind a pretty good O line. Leftwich has been alright with them in spot duty. Our line isn't as good. Here, I think that flaw would limit his effectiveness.
  10. Steelers backup and former Jags starter Byron Leftwich wants a crack at the Bears QB starting job. Sun-Times I've never really been high on Leftwich. Big arm, but slow, wonky delivery and no mobility thanks to a troublesome ankle.
  11. QUOTE (scenario @ Jan 5, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) I'd love to see KW sneek under the radar and add Ben Sheets. I'm all for it. Don't think it will happen, but I'd be quite happy if it did.
  12. Jones isn't worth a bag of balls at this point. I'd prefer we give our in-house options a chance rather than acquire him.
  13. I really hope Lillibridge can force his way into center over Owens. Neither has proven anything at this level, but Brent has to be a better option out there than Owens. He just has to be. The rotation is not ideal; I wish they had at least one more vet starter. As constructed, if Danks and Floyd regress at all, the season could turn disastrous quickly. Richard showed signs of improvement and a lot of heart over the course of last season, but I'm not sold on him as a starter yet. As far as Marquez, I will have faith in KDub and the scouts. They obviously see something they really like in Marquez. Hopefully, like Danks and Floyd, he will reward that faith with production.
  14. Comcast just played a clip of Ozzie from Vegas and he addressed Swish:
  15. If Richard works on his curve, I can see him working his way into the rotation during ST. Marquez, based on the scouting reports, seems to have a repertoire that would work in The Cell. I think Poreda is best served getting his feet wet coming out of the pen, for now.
  16. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Nov 21, 2008 -> 02:56 PM) Let me suggest a nickname "The Big Cohiba". Wow. I love that.
  17. I'm very excited about this signing. Here's hoping he's every bit as good as advertised.

    Bartolo Colon

I'd love to see Freddy return. I think he still has something left in the tank. Bartolo, not so much.
  19. I'm cautiously optimistic about this kid. I agree with Dick Allen that he sounds a lot like Miguel Cabrera.
  20. On any level, that's one hell of a game.
  21. I hope Kenny is telling the truth. I know that right now Fields is no Crede (healthy) defensively. But I honestly believe if he comes in healthy and ready to go, he's going to put in the work and improve. And we already saw he can hit when healthy.

    Rocco Baldelli

I want no parts of Rocco Baldelli. His disorder makes him unreliable.
  23. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 17, 2008 -> 01:12 PM) Ron, I feel bad that you have to wear "Maggitt" on your jersey. My last name caught me a lot of flack as a kid. But hey, it is what it is.
  24. I received my Sox hockey jersey from Triple Threat today. I just couldn't be happier with it. I really love it.
