  1. Unfortunately, I also agree, June 1st or blow er up. The sox have never been a great fundamental team, however this just awful. I don't know about any of you but I have consitantly been frustrated with our inability to move a baserunner off of second. The main problem I see with this team is the outfield. If we trade Dye (who I would prefer to extend 2 years and plug at DH) we would be running out a two player combination of wise, anderson, lilli, nix. We have no one in the system that is close to stepping up at this point. It's early, but does anyone have any idea which outfielders are on the final year?
  2. Thome has been a major dissapointment since joining the sox, with exception of his homerun vs the twins. I think this will be his last year, he is just no where near the caliber of player he used to be. Same problem as griffey, the bat speed just aint there anymore. I would like to see JD resigned and put in as our new DH. I am of the belief that your teams best athletes should be all your outfielders, ala the twins or rays.
  3. I personally feel that the owners are using this sluggish economy as an excuse to try to shrink payrolls. After the success of the D-rays last year and their small payroll clubs want to try to go young and shrink their own payroll. Thus, the whitesox are hoping their youth will succeed for it does, Reinsdorf's profits will be much much larger. But hey its just a theory, right? Go Sox, and lets prove all these early projections wrong!
  4. I would like to see the outright release of Contrearas, I know this won't happen but I feel like we were actually more consistant throwing up crappy Richard. That being said in this order I would like players gone. Swisher (slow, crappy bat, who at best is a slightly above average 1st basement) Uribe (this is actually my least favorite player in all of baseball. I don't care what Ozzie says, he can't play 3rd ok. He has a hard time reading the ball of the bat, is slow, and basically a strikeout/ DP waiting to happen.) Logan, MacDougal, Wasserman ( the core of the pen is fine. Just these three guys are plain awful) AJ ( His bat is solid and love his chemistry with the pitchers, but he simply cannot throw anyone out. Yes, part of this is on the pitchers but come on.... I don't event want to know the stolen base success rate against him since he's been with the W.S.) I would keep Griffey as a extra bat if he was willing to restructure, and would also keep thome. I wish we had more changes coming actually, but we just aren't that flexible due to lack of minor league talent, and the outrageous price of most players. Go Alexei! The Cuban Missle.
  5. To be perfectly honest I would prefer to be out of it all season than to go out this pathetic way. To be blunt firings must occur. I don't know of who but this is just unacceptable.
  6. Hey guys first post here. Listen, I'm furious with the way our team has performed in this series but this isn't Ozzie's fault in the least bit. He has no speed to work with, if anything I feel that we should be complaining by the lack of pitch outs with runners on base in this series. It has become obvious that AJ is incapable of throwing out runners with our pitchers. That being said, a single quickly turns into a double when we face this team. I feel this series has been lost more as a result of our inability to get the clutch out or hit that we need. The twins converserly, have repeatedly put themselves in position to win and get this hit. So if anything we can blame Ozzie for the lack of pitch outs, but this teams performance, specifically the lack of speed cannot be magically fixed by Ozzie. Go Sox!
