QUOTE (dww879 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:19 AM) While I am thrilled by the result of that inning, I still find the fact that Dewayne Wise is leading off for a team that has a .5 game lead in their division with 5 to play extremely pathetic. well I mean if it were Charlotte it would be acceptable

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 01:50 AM) I guess that will be Javy pitching too since the pressure will be off and he will pitch great... and Boone Logan will throw three prefect innings striking out all 9 batters he faces

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 01:45 AM) Ok, im going to give us 2 innings to score before I'm really pissed off. We've gone through the line up once now and now its time to start hitting the damn ball. I predict the sox don't score until sunday when they are already mathematically eliminated and then beat cliff lee 25-2, compliments of 3 jason bourgeois grand slams

"We might have still been in that 2-2 tie"- Hawk...lol, how can he watch the same game I'm watching and think that we're not overmatched

I've actually been contemplating coming on here for quite a while to discuss this topic. As white sox fans know Hawk tends to discuss the same things frequently in his broadcast. Whether it be the great Carl Yastrmski, the increased number of shattering bats, or explaining that Joe Crede will have an MVP award before its all said and done, Hawk does tend to be very repetitive in his broadcasts. One of his most repeated ideas that I call the "every team is going to win sixty and lose sixty, it's the other 42 which matter" philosophy has consistently baffled me. Yes it makes sense to me that teams dont tend to be worse than 60-102 or better than 102-60 but still what is the significance behind this. He almost sounds like he is saying essentially that only 42 games count. However we all know that makes zero sense. Is there any meaning to this theory or am I simply overanalyzing? Just a thought to pass the time before our season will be decided for the good or bad.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 11:26 PM) Great post dww. Have a few beers or make some steak and eggs while you watch the game from 2-5 a.m. Done and done. I'm having a tough day, I discovered that there were $2000 dollars worth of phoney charges on my credit card today and then learning that the Dewayne Wise was leading off once again didn't exactly ease the pain. But if gavin and company can pull one off tonight it will all be good. If not I may have to find an asylum.

Though I have been coming to this site religiously for years I finally thought that tonight would be the night I would post, and while I hate to gain an early rep as a pessimist I must add that I simply find it ridiculous that Jermaine Dye is in the three spot considering Wise is leading off. If Ozzie is going to start a guy, who is a fourth outfielder at best for three straight games and LEAD HIM OFF for two of those games in the most important series of the season, then he should atleast move Jermaine out of the three spot as well. Ozzie seems unafraid to make a drastic lineup change but petrified to make a smaller one. He's willing to sit a struggling Swisher and play a career quadruple A player (no offense to Wise he's has some real big hits for us this year) but not move Jermaine down to five in the order. Something here seems hypocritical to me. If your gonna bat Wise first, why not move Dye down, start Anderson also? There are many areas for improvement in our lineup right now besides left field. Why did the Wise move have to be made but the other ones not. Not to mention OC while historically a two hitter, is one of the few guys in our lineup who has been hitting the last month and he is getting moved. Makes little sense to me. Anyways, Gavin's been our stopper all year. I do have a good feeling about tonight. Please reward me white sox for stayin up all night (I'm in Europe so the game starts at 2 here). Good luck to all you guys tonight, I think we all would like to sleep a little easier tonight.
