  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2010 -> 06:35 PM) You counted last year as "Absolutely awful"? We hung pretty close to .500 most of the year despite hundreds of at bats trying to develop Fields, Getz, Anderson, etc., and we might well have had a shot at the division had Quentin's foot not gone out. We finished 7.5 games back the year after making the playoffs in spectacular fashion. It was bad, really bad. Furthermore, the best parts of last year Buehrle perfecto, Floyd's continued progression, and Beckhams rise have been (somewhat) mitigated early this year by poor performances.
  2. Meeting was about 25 minutes. Conclusion was, "Don't worry about trade rumors, worry about winning."
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ May 19, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) Wash and Philly should swap picks. Wash needs a SG, Philly needs a PG. Philly is really high on Jrue Holliday. Wash might be better off drafting Wall and playing Gil at SG.
  4. According to WSCR, KW either called his own meeting or spoke during this one. He basically told everyone that if they had questions or concerns about the fate of the team, his door was always open.
  5. Expect a somber broadcast by Hawk today. Randy Ruiz was just released so he could go play in Japan.
  6. I like this lineup a lot. I hope Nix shows something today. Might give Ozzie some incentive to play him more.
  7. Morel already has an RBI 2b.

    LOST!!!!

Any reason why Ben could kill Widmore now as opposed to season four? Wasn't it against the "rules?"
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 18, 2010 -> 08:45 PM) FWIW, I still think Turner will be the best player in this draft. And I think Favors has higher potential than Wall. Do you think the 76'ers trade Iggy, or play small next year? They'd probably put up a decent amount of points with: Holliday Turner Iggy Brand Dalembert
  10. What an awesome end to the NBA draft lotto. Best possible scenario for the Bulls, worst for the Nets
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 18, 2010 -> 04:19 PM) Hanley literally showed up Gonzalez, what an ass hole. At one point, Fredit sat down next to Hanley and tried to talk to him. Hanley wouldn't even look him in the eye. Dan Uggla tried to downplay the entire thing in a post-game interview, but you could tell even he was frustrated. And i saw the replay, Hanley really did loaf. He tried to write it off as the product of being hit by a ball earlier in the game, but Ross got nailed even harder in that game, and went balls out out on a sinking liner an inning later.
  12. Hanley pouted the entire game today. He wouldn't even sit on the bench or take BP, he was in the corner of the dugout sulking. Wes Helms demanded that he apologize to Fredi for insubordination. That's ridiculous.
  13. Wow, Hanley is incredibly immature. Just by looking at his body language during today’s game and the comments he made prior to the game. What a child. And no we will not be able to get Hanley for Alexei and a prospect.
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 18, 2010 -> 03:56 PM) All we need is a Hawks win tonight to top off this day! We also need the Nets to not win the draft lotto.
  15. Great all around performance by the Sox today. Great to see.
  16. Bobby looked deadly. Hope he can get some consistent results.
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 18, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) What happened?? I'm following on gameday. He dropped a routine pop-up behind home plate.
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 18, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) So about 400'? There abouts.
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 18, 2010 -> 03:22 PM) How close was Nix's ball to being gone? front of the warning track in deep center.
  20. Nix really needed to do something with that at-bat, still put a nice swing on the ball.
