  1. Nix has tremendous defensive instincts. He's passing the eye test today.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 9, 2010 -> 02:43 PM) I really think Nix should be the everyday platoon 3B against LHP. You just said the kid was going to ground into a double play. Make up your mind.
  3. Also did anyone else love Hawk’s “You can’t put it on the boards, yes, hockey boards,” comment after the Blackhawks ad?
  4. I'm starting to think that Hawk either really doesn't know what kind of player Randy Ruiz is, or he's getting him confused with someone else.
  5. I love watching CR pitcher, and I’m rooting for him to succeed, but I have no regrets that KW traded his ass the minute he got word that Peavy could be had again. The only thing I miss about Clayton Richard and Aaron Poreda is the acronym that their names formed. That thing gave me an awesome signature for, like, three months.
  6. QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 9, 2010 -> 01:56 AM) He's getting paid 16 million bucks. 3 good starts (two against awful awful teams) out of 7 isn't what we are paying him for, or traded him for. If you think it is, that's cool I guess. I don't. Especially not good starts when we are 7 games back of first. We needed him the first month. It is your money? Are you paying the salary? If not, why is this any of your concern? The Sox gave up a 4th starter, two AAA relief guys, and a AA arm on the verge of flaming out. We didn't lose this trade, we won the s*** out of it. How many chances in our lives as baseball fans has our favorite team taken advantage of a scenario that allowed them to bring an ace into the fold? Like it or not, but Peavy's contract was that scenario. I don't really see the need to b**** KW out getting one of the best pitchers in the game.
  7. QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 9, 2010 -> 01:19 AM) Woah woah woah. Let's let him have more than 2 good starts before we say its a good deal. Especially meaningful starts and not when you are 7.5 games back. It's a lot easier to pitch when you are pretty much out of it. It is good that he's put two dominant starts together. Let's hope we can get him back to a place where he can show us what he's got when it counts. We traded Clayton Richard, Aaron Poreda, Dex Carter, and Adam Russell for a CY Young winning pitcher. No one should need any more time to say whether it was a good deal or not. For what we gave up and what we got back. It was.
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 8, 2010 -> 11:41 PM) Probably the fact that Omar is 43. Ok.... and Nix is getting no playing time, is taking up the spot that a pitcher would be better served to using, and Omar's age doesn't appear to be getting in the way of Ozzie playing him over Nix.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2010 -> 11:36 PM) BTW, Ozzie hopes to get Omar Vizquel more ABs. Says he's doing a fantastic job. I still don't understand what's stopping Kenny from DFA'ing Nix.
  10. That 1-2 pitch broke like a motherf***er.
  11. He got hit a bit this inning, nut nothing to show for it. Keep 'em guessing, Peavy!
  12. I don't understand why Nix is on the team. It's a wasted roster spot, that would be better served on a 13th pitcher.
  13. The only platers who i want active value for are Konerko, A.J. and Paulie, and maybe Jones. Everyone else is young enough to be on this core, or crappy enough to not have any value (Pierre, Kotsay)
  14. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 8, 2010 -> 11:58 AM) I graduate today, so, Jake, give me a present. Your present is Vizquel hitting 2nd. Take it or leave it. (Congrats, Heads!)
  15. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ May 8, 2010 -> 11:10 AM) having taken the long view will be KW's demise when players like Getz start fulfilling their potential. Chris Getzs' potential is roughly that of David Eckstein. I'm shaking in my boots.
  16. Ozzie on Pierre's bunt. "That's his game, that's how he plays. I'm fine with it."
