  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2010 -> 08:51 PM) There's no need for negativism in this thread...the Twins just put themselves in a better position to compete with the White Sox when they got O-Dog and Thome. . KW wasn't looking for any Mark Kotsay, he was looking for The Mark Kotsay.
  2. Pierre got on-base. A moment of silence, people.
  3. 2-run triple by Span. Sac fly by O-Hud scoring Span. Twins lead 7-0
  4. Somebody should have reminded Jake that Getz was that "tiny, blonde kid who played second, when Nix didn't" from last year. Even if he hung one the best Getz is going to do is hit a sliding double.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ May 3, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) Did I see Peavy hit 94? Hell, gameday just had him at 95.
  6. Getz hitting a robust .179. But the grinder factor pushes that up to .200.
  7. Thank god Rios was no longer on-base to benefit from an A.J. hit.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2010 -> 08:34 PM) Is that the associative theory of ALCD greatness? You're damn right it is.
  9. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 3, 2010 -> 08:30 PM) OK...I hate that AB from Kotsay. If we're not gonna score it's paramount that we have good at-bats and make Meche throw. The Royal bullpen is so awful...if nothing else we need to get to that in the middle innings. Please, you can't expect the DH in the 5-hole, in the A.L, in a home-run hitters ballpark to actually work counts and look to drive the ball. s***, even i'm ragging on these guys now.
  10. Kotsay still has a lot to learn from Pierre about the true art of the groundout to 2nd.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) Thunderbolt, what is there to feel pity about? I was trying to make a joke, and yet you automatically misconstrue it, lol. Maybe KW or Ozzie (deserve pity), not that they would ask for or appreciate it... You were making another, "our hitters suck, woe is us" comment, man. And while it really is true. i just thought we should lay off the agony until the sample size gets bigger.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2010 -> 08:23 PM) Well, we are good at proving we can make pitchers with a 10 ERA look good. That's something to be proud of...trying to be optimistic here, can't think of much. At least Beckham didn't K? It's been an inning, Caufield. Let's keep the pity parade down until he's shutting us down through 5.
  13. Call me "new" school, but I don't see the pecentage in swinging at a 2-0 pitch.
  14. I was curious to see how Rex Brothers was doing, given we were all his biggest fans for about two weeks going into the draft. He's pitching pretty well. That being, said i have no complaints about Mitchell. The injury has obviously chanced that picture a bit.
  15. I don't think Viciedo will be up barring a cuppa tea in September. He's still young, handsomely paid, and working through his kinks. I could see Danksy 2 being in the 9 hole for two months, but i see Viciedo getting some play in AAA for the majority of the year.
  16. I think we might need to turn this thread into General Draft talk.
  17. Could you imagine putting this lineup out there in three months? Flowers- C Konerko- 1b Beckham-2b Gordon-3b Ramirez-SS Jones-RF Rios-CF Teahen-LF/Util Q/DH Pierre Vizquel Retherford Danks How fun would White Sox baseball be to watch, even if we weren’t in contention?
  18. Sounds like the Royals plan on playing Gordon at 1b/LF in Omaha.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 3, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) Any signability concerns (i.e. will we stop being cheap and actually spend some money on the draft)? Because I'd jump at the chance to take him at #13. If he really is injured then i imagine signability won't be a huge issue.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 3, 2010 -> 06:58 PM) It has suffered due to a combination of his performance and an injury. I could see him being available at #13. Then we pick him, and wish Wilson god speed.
