  1. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) The thing is, Kotsay could be really useful for this team if used properly. Agreed, but knowing Ozzie he won't. It's the same thing with Wise. You put him in for defensive purposes the team benefits, but Ozzie doesn't do logical things like that. So, the only option is to purge people like that from the roster, or give Ozzie a mandate from upstairs.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 09:47 PM) It's fun not watching Kotsay hit Fixed, that for ya,
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 09:34 PM) If I never see a bunt again, I will be happy. If you don't think someone can have a productive at bat against a pitcher, either don't play him or don't bat him 6th. Agreed. Especially, in the AL.
  4. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 09:22 PM) Same old, same old from Juan. Hey, at least he grounded out to third this time.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 09:11 PM) *sigh* Thank god we have a right handed 3rd baseman on the bench today. Mark has been having some great at-bats. Even when he wasn't hitting, he was working the count. I love Nix, but i don't have a problem giving Teahen some run here.
  6. Uh-oh, i just heard a clip of him talking about this and he said, "maybe one change... Vizquel in the lineup." Kill me.
  7. Sounds like Ozzie plans on having standard lineups against RHP's and LHP's. Hopefully, one of them does not include Kotsay in the 3-hole http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...-bay-price.html
  8. I wish the draft was here already. Mostly so Mel Kiper can stop talking about it.
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) Personally, I want Teahen hitting 3rd as he's sporting a .438/.550/.750/1.300 line over his last 6 games. I think Teahen is crafting himself into an ideal two hole hitter. I don't think Ozzie will put him there, but i can't complain about the production we're getting out of him.
  10. I come bearing gifts! No Kotsay! Pierre lf Beckham 2b Quentin rf Konerko 1b Jones dh Pierzynski c Rios cf Teahen 3b Ramirez ss Danks p
  11. I'm not hoping for us to tank, but i can't lie that I am slightly interested in seeing what kind of haul KW could fetch in a firesale.
  12. QUOTE (Ranger @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) I can completely understand it. He's an afterthought in that lineup with very little pressure. Here, they asked him to use his high OBP and be a leadoff hitter. He couldn't handle it. In NY, surrounded by that lineup, he could hit .150 and nobody would care. But Swisher did hit, he hit really well, as most people expected him to coming out of his abnormal BABIP season of 2008. I don't think you should write off good performance based on low expectations. I could understand using the argument that his numbers ere enhanced due to the strength of the lineup around him, except last year was not a fluke year for him. It’s fit perfectly into his historical trends. The only outlier on that list? 2008.
  13. Let me throw Josh Johnson's name into the ring.
  14. I wouldn't be suprised to see Paulie become a Diamondback at the deadline, if we fall out and the D-backs stay in.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 10:55 AM) Well yeah, that's what I had in mind....the miracle being they maybe move into the top 10, as it has happened recently against the odds. I don't think James Johnson getting dunked on by LeBron a few times and seeing Taj Gibson put up his typical workmanlike effort 4 or 5 times in a playoff atmosphere before going home is worth losing that chance. The math is not in the Bulls favor. I don't think the front office likes to wager on miracles. And besides there's still a decent chance that the Bulls come out of the draft with a guy like Xavier Henry. All they've done is given themselves a national stage on which to impress the likes of Chris Bosh.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 03:39 AM) Because an outside shot at 2008 esque lottery magic is better than getting crapped on by The King for a little over a week and going home. THe Bulls have a pick swap with the Bucks. So, unless they defied the odds and some how get into the lottery, that pick was going to go the the Bucks. So, instead of giving them the 11th pick, which they'd likely have gotten had they missed the playoffs, they instead gave the Bucks the 15th pick in exchange for the 17th. By making the playoffs we've given James Johnson and Taj Gibson some runs in the big show, and given the core kids a chance to shock the world. I don't think we should be complaining about losing to the best.
  17. Beckham, Danks, AJ, Peavy, Nix, Lucy, and Paulie were all at the Hawks game yesterday. Here's proof it you really don't beleive that Nix and Lucy are invited to team functions. http://twitpic.com/1gqxu6
